  • Haha yeah

  • I'm doing better a couple days ago I threw up eight times

  • @babbyygirl3 ewwwww tmi...lol....but glad you are better!

  • Three more days woo a week off school at the least

  • @babbyygirl3 check in...you should be home resting now....

  • Six days and counting up side to this is no school for the next week

  • @babbyygirl3 woo hoo no school! still remember how sweet that is even if i am old! ha ha ha.... well, you know i will be waiting for a report back....check in when you can!

  • Yeah but I'm 15 and my family keeps reminding me someone died from it.. Surgery is on the 28th of october

  • @babbyygirl3 but 98% of people do just fine and now that have much better medicines to put you under and machines to monitor you. I had mine out at 10....and now I am 50...every friend I know had them taken out and we are all here. I know you are scared and I get that...but odds are in your favor!

  • I have to have my tonsils and maybe even my adenoids (which is in your nose)

  • @babbyygirl3 yup...had them both out when i was 10. you are gonna feel a lot better!

  • It's okay.. Doctor for tonsils tommorrow

  • We are switching doctors I'm going to see a surgen October 25 to see what they can do and I need to make an appointment to get my tonsils out

  • @babbyygirl3 crazy actress in a local theatre show. and glad you are getting a new doctor! keep me posted. i am sorry i missed this. i will try to do better checking in.

  • Why would an actress attack you? And that really sucks

  • The sad thing is I still have to do gym with my shoulder popping and cracking I see my doctor next Tuesday

  • @babbyygirl3 that does suck. i did not want to tell you but i was attacked by a crazy actress a few weeks ago and she body slammed me in to walls. last slam put my shoulder in to a 2x4 support beam. crazy chick....sighhh....went to ER, they said what they did last time.

  • Yeah I can't go outside when it's nice cause my face starts to swell and press against the bones causing pain and... I'm just so tired of pain and taking medicen.. I'm crying all the time.. I don't want anymore pain...

  • @babbyygirl3 i do understand you. the only difference is i can't take any medication for the pain. i know this is hard, but it will get better. i promise. i know it does not feel that way right now but it will...

  • I was also in a bad car accident about a year ago and broke two bones in my face and when it gets to warm out and humid it hurts really bad and swells up also on my left side so I am pretty much use to pain

  • @babbyygirl3 that sucks darling. i feel for you on that...

  • I sleep on the side that is messed up so that wouldn't work for me. We are going to set up an appointment after my father is better from his kidney stone surgury today the first time he got it , it didn't work but I just pray it works this time cause i don't like seeing him in pain

  • @babbyygirl3 sorry about your day. a guitar player and a bass player i work with have both been through it. guitar player only has one kidney left now. i also sleep on the side that was injured, or prefer to...sucked when I could not at all. now it still hurts but i do it to stretch the muscles so i never get a frozen shoulder again. cause ya know that friggin hurts like a *#$&%&#@.....lol

  • It was great but the doctor needed to check up to see if it was helping but we haven't got an appointment yet cause family things came up so I haven't done it in a while and it's getting harder to fine a comfortable position to put it in

  • @babbyygirl3 ok...try pillows...no clue why but if I put one under my arm it seemed to help ease the pain. I would tuck it like i was going to carry it and watch tv that way. at night i stacked pillows and slept on my side a lot....with the extra pillows tightly against me to prop my arm so it would not slump while i slept. that one is hard cause sleep is hard with a busted shoulder. but after surgery sleeping is worse. so...for now be glad you have not been cut open! I will keep checkin in!

  • I will!

  • @babbyygirl3 Long time no hear...how is your therapy going?

  • I get to see my doctor soon and if the therpay is working I can continue it

  • @babbyygirl3 keep me posted!

  • Me to I was talking to my mom saying " if I get a big fat guy im going to shoot myself well not really" I didn't want a big guy

  • @babbyygirl3 i think all trainers need to be fit or how could you trust them to know what they are talking about! mine were fit. only one had been through shoulder surgery. the others did not get it and my surgery was rather extensive too. plus, they forgot to give me my thera-bands and my home therapy suffered for it.

  • @babbyygirl3 i hear ya....lol

  • The therapy inst the greatest but at least I have a nice girl

  • @babbyygirl3 i had guys and i swear they tortured me....lol...glad you have a girl!

  • Next monday and I see the doctor in 8weeks and I'm not aloud to do most things in my gym class

  • @babbyygirl3 that sounds about right. but do move it gently so it won't freeze cause a frozen shoulder sucks even more than the pain you have now! trust me...i ended up in the ER cause mine froze....and I did not sleep at all for something like 6 days...not a single bit of sleep....i got loopy on top of the pain!

  • And they gave me pills which don't work

  • @babbyygirl3 a tear can take a long time to heal on its own and therapy is needed. if the pills don't work try a strong over the counter one you have used before. they sometimes work better. hen do you start therapy?

  • What a load they couldn't find much which I called then they say I just have a small tear in my rotator cuff and I need physical therpy

  • On monday hopefully we will know what's wrong and I am sorry

  • @babbyygirl3 thank you! fill me in when you know more!

  • Last night I fell asleep on it and I woke up in horible pain I cried and I was almost late for school... No 14 year old should go through this the appointment is 2marrow but then we have to make another appointment to talk about the resluts is this what you had to go through if so I am sorry

  • @babbyygirl3 hate to say it but yes...and i went through it for a year and 2 months! i passed the MRI's and a bunch of other tests. the whole time they acted like i was making it up. like i was mental instead of really injured. i guess i am a medical anomaly because my doctor was one of the top in the country and he could not figure out how i was injured for that long and it did not show up on tests! probably why it won't ever be the same...and my age! I am much older. The young heal well!

  • This pain in getting unbareable tylonal and ifeproan aren't working anymore

  • @babbyygirl3 i hear ya. there is not much you can do but take it easy until they get the results of the MRI. trust me when i say i know how frustrating to hurt and no one believe you! in the mean time...when you sit, put a pillow under your arm...at night, take extra pillows to lay your arm and shoulder on. if push comes to shove, i spent months (like 11) sleeping on the couch propped up with pillows...all the while wishing I had a lazyboy recliner for the first time in my life! ice it too!

  • I will

  • Well he felt it and did some tests that hurt very bad and did an x-Ray he think I may have torn my laybrum to male sure I have to go back for a MRI next Thursday then make a appointment to go over the MRI pictures

  • @babbyygirl3 i kind of thought he would send you for an MRI....keep me posted!

  • Also my doctor just called I have an appointment on wensday want me to keep you posted?

  • @babbyygirl3 yes...curious to see what he does first! keep me posted.

  • Yes but it pops and or cracks

  • Well so far I have only had a x-Ray and I have random Pain whenever I move it and it cracks and pops in and out when it is not in a arm sling

  • @babbyygirl3 that sounds a lot like how I felt. It sounds like you need another test. An MRI or arthrogram should show the damage. Or, if this is gone on along time they might decide to scope it and if they find anything wrong, they fix it then. Odd question, but can you reach behind you with the hurt arm to unfasten your bra? The answer to that actually helps figure out some of what is wrong. May I ask your general age too?

  • Well my shoulder had about two months to heal and it just got worse so I think I may be worse than I once had thought

  • @babbyygirl3 have they done an arthrogram on you in addition to an MRI? The arthrogram often shows things the MRI misses. Oddly, it did not work on me but it works in more often than not. When do you see your doctors again? Can I ask what limitations you have or what motions cause lots of pain?

  • I have been to three doctors and my last doctor told me what my shoulder was doing was admormal and I most likey have a rotator cuff tear and need to see a orthopedtic docter to see if I need surgury like this and I am absolutly scared I am only fourteen years old any advice?

  • @babbyygirl3 Yes, if they say you need it, get it done. The good part, you have the best chance for healing quickly because you are young. If the tear is really small they may not do surgery and just do therapy. My surgery did leave me a bit limited but I am much older and had a lot of damage but I know a 72 year old who had the damage they think you have and he was golfing 2 months later. I had that & more wrong, so compare to him and not me. You should heal well.

  • I am having this done in two days.. I also jump off operating tables.. I warned them- lets see how it goes.. I think Im alot like you- I dont feel how Im actually using my arm and come to think of it mine is hyper mobile too- Im curious how you tore yours- AAB

  • @athalene I actually tore mine jumping off a toilet at the Wyndam Hotel in Memphis. Hot boiling water shot up from the potty when I flushed. I jumped and almost went face first in to the wall, tried to grab the counter behind me and caught the end for a split second then arm yanked off while i went flying. That is a cliff notes at least. Tell me... are they doing the nerve blocker on you? I am glad you warned them so they can monitor you closely. Better for them to have all the information.

  • you deleted my comment....all because I thought you looked old for your age.

  • @dhide14 i deleted your comment because your channel page does not come up and i assume you are just a nasty child hiding behind a fake nick name trying to attack people and incite them until they are upset. the only thing that came up with your name was a long list of rude comments to just about everyone you contacted. oh, and i am old....so why would that bug me? i am almost 50...i should look old. not too bright are ya?

  • I hadit friday and they removed part of my bursa sac in my shoulder. When does the pain start to go away cuz this sucks..

  • @LiftedFan11 it sucks big time. the majority of the pain will subside in a week or two but it will keep hurting for months. gets less each week though. if they took out part of your bursa, you will have some discomfort for longer until your body adjusts but it won't be the pain you have now. if it means anything...i was on stage doing a show two weeks after mine (still in the sling at that point...lol). just don't push it beyond what therapy folks give you! and lay low. stab your gums yet? lol

  • I'm having my shoulder scoped on the 28th. I hurt it two years ago and all along he has thought there was nothing wrong but it won't go away so they are scoping it now. I'm pretty nervous. In my arthrogram it shows that I have a torn superspinatis too but he doesn't think it really is. Idk what is goin through his head but now hopefully I can get it fixed and be able to play my senior year of baseball. Did you have much pain after?

  • @LiftedFan11 my pain level was high BUT I am allergic to all pain medication so I had to recover with nothing. to be able to play sports again, you MUST do all the therapy they give you and do it at home every day too. I saw a baseball guy going through therapy when i did. he went back to spring training ready to go! a golf buddy had his and was playing in months and he was over 70 years old! just listen to the therapy people. wean off pain pills fast because you are more likely to injure again!

  • @MicheleMidnight dang well i hope im drugged up so i dont feel any pain. and yeah my dad has been talking to me about the recovery and he says it will be up to me on how fast i heal. ill keep you posted

  • @LiftedFan11 I had mine wide awake with a nerve blocker and it did not wear off until later at night. I could not feel much for hours. Your dad is right...recovery will be up to you. If they give you the cooler with shoulder harness, use it! It helps with pain and swelling! And if they are doing it on the arm you use most, practice brushing your teeth and wiping your bottom with the other hand now...trust me! THAT part sucks. stabbed myself in the gum's over and over

  • @MicheleMidnight Ha dang. I forgot about that part. That is gonna be hard

  • @LiftedFan11 yup....and wait til you try to wipe your butt....lol

  • omg wrap it up...

  • omg find something better to do with your time. you did not have to watch it. no one made you...lol

  • I am sitting here in my sling after surgery four days ago. Ugh. I just want to be asble to move my arm over my head again. It was great to watch your videos. Tomorrow is the post-op appt. and I am anxious to start on the long road to recovery. :)

  • my heart is with you Hanbby13. when you are up to it, fill me in on what they had to fix in there. i am hoping your recovery is quick. don't be in a rush to put your arm above your head...you can rip stuff they just fixed! follow the doctors advice!! hope therapy is not too bad and you can take pain meds. i could not and it would have been easier if i could.

  • Michelle, you complete joker!

    Youre so special aren't you!!

Why cant you just be humble abour recovery and not tell the whole fuckin world!

  • you have some serious issues don't you? you attack a stranger for talking about surgery? wow...i think you need to see a shrink!

  • I had problem for 4yrs, they thought nothing was particularly wrong with me either, had months of physio, steriod injections, acupuncture, heat treatments and then they gave up called it bursitis and decided A/C joint decompession was needed (June 09). Once they got inside they found massive stretching of the whole joint capsule and tendons. I'm now sceduled for a 2nd op in November 09.. dreading it! I'll have a long recovery and immobilisation sling too - how was recovery?! how's things now? x

  • dude that sucks. they will put in permanent sutures because of your tendons being stretched. it feels very odd at first. my recovery was slow. but i had 7 procedures and it sounds like you will have 2-4. your recovery should go faster but it will hurt like heck. just make sure you do the therapy so it does not get frozen after...that pain is horrid. so do therapy every day!! and please post back when you can and tell me how it went! it will be weeks after before you are up to typing!

  • yeah that really sucks. I dislocated my arm during a softball game on april 29. I didnt think i really hurt it since it popped right back in. I actually tore my labrum and had to have surgery may 19, 2009. I have to say i was really not looking forword to not playing for more than 6 months since softball is like my life. I had my surgery at lenoir memorial in kinston, nc. My doctor was michael kuhn. He is a great doctor and i thank him for doing a wonderful job. hopefully ill be back playing

  • kind of odd how some parts of the shoulder don't seem to hurt when they tear but give it a little time and dang the pain can add up as the function goes down hill. so glad you had your surgery and had a doctor you liked and trusted. that means a lot. pay attention to your therapy and i bet you will be back up and playing again sooner than you think.

  • I used to be a competitive Triathlete. In '98 I had rotator cuff surgery...was a bitch...but got through. But in April '09 after being YANKED by a gorilla paramedic, I was told by even the FIRST surgeon that I needed total replacement. The others concurred. I had NO pain until the YANK to both my arms occurred! PIGS!!!! I'm doing OK.......surgery was 5/12/09...but I'm still pissed at the paramedics! I only weigh 93 lbs! Oy Vey! They did NOT need the BRUTE force!!!! GGGggggrrrrrrrr!!!

  • omg how horrible. i so get the oy veh! and you sort of answered one of my unasked questions...am i more susceptible to worse injury and from what you have shared...the answer is yes. sighhh. ok...going to heed what you are dealing with as a warning. and keep me posted on the surgery too. total replacement is supposed to be a bit better than cuff surgery i hear AND heals faster than hip or knee!!

  • at the moment i am locked in a battle of will with them, which is not helping my recovery,Ihave a long road ahead of me ,but i will not be beaten

  • omg sweetie..this message went missed all this time and no clue how. so what is the follow up anyway? was it a success? have you gotten out of being 'lost in the system' yet?

  • thank you for replying to my comment, because they have fused my shoulder it can not be undone as they have removed all of the muscles rotator cuff that make up the joint ,i am still waiting to find out if the union is sucesful ,if not they will have remove my right arm, the main problem that i had at the being of all this was that the doctors i had seen didnt understand what was happening so they dismissed the problem and lost me in the system that is the NHS....

  • wow. i am so sorry all of this has happened to you. i do understand getting lost in it. i too fought like heck to be taken seriously. i don't know why i did not show up on tests but that is why mine got so bad. don't let them remove your arm if they don't have too. fight and fight hard. i know it is not easily done but i am with you in spirit. and you can vent here anytime!

  • i have now lost all movement in my right shoulder after being left on a waiting list for 18 months i had to have the whole joint fused, i am only 32 years of age my shoulder will never move again, please if you have problems with doctors not treating your condition in the right way make them listen to you by any means possible!!

  • oh my. i am so sorry. that is almost what happened to me. they kept saying nothing was wrong. when they finally went in, no one knew how i had any use of my arm left. with therapy i have regained some use. can you get shoulder replacement so that you can move again? can you get therapy? i feel so bad because i know what you went through. they kept saying i was crazy and my shoulder was fine and they were ALL wrong. if not for the doctors at Duke i might be exactly where you are.

  • I am having Rotator cuff surgery on Monday2 -16-2009. I am feeling nervous . I am 46 year old woman . with a complete tear right arm.

  • oh honey let me put your mind at ease...only the first few days are going to be a pain...and it gets better fast if you only have rotator cuff repair. the good part for you...within about a month you will be doing things in therapy you thought you would never be able to do again where it took me 6 months. i have seen tons of people come and go in therapy while i took ages and they were smiling within a week or so after surgery! i am going to drop you an email in case i can help you feel safer.

  • How long did you recover from surgery? What shoulder injury you have?

  • mine took a long time and just getting near the end of it now. i had 7 things wrong and fixed. if it is just rotator it goes quick. just cleaning out bone spurs is quick. but i had rotator, stretch tendons, ripped bicep, bone spur, bone growth, compressed clavicle, and part of the collar bone removed. they had to put in permanent sutures cause my tendons were shot and so on. that is why mine took so long. plus i was injured over a year and nothing showed on tests so more atrophy too.

  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING

  • gobble gobble back at ya! well...you know what i mean!

  • I am still in my sling and I should be out of it in 2more weeks. My first visit he cleaned the area and put a new cloth like bandage and said see you in three weeks and not to get it wet. I didn't even no there was a such thing as dissolving stitches. But i definitely will have a long scar on my upper shoulder my doc informed. Would they dissolve in three weeks. Then comes therapy, how fun. Not looking forwards to it. How is the therapy?

  • I was on the back with my boyfriend. He is a really good rider, a van actually got in front of us and he did what he could to get passed the van. I have 5 more week according to the doc. Ive got a new bike last summer but have not actually rode it. I think I will and be much more careful. Are you still in a Sling? Did you get stitches.

  • i have been out of the sling for almost a month now but was in it for a month and a half. i am fighting the 'sling position' now. i had stitches in my bicep that dissolved....then permanent sutures holding my tendons that will always be there now. i was lucky on the outside because they thought there was little to fix, so they made 2 holes, then a 3rd and ended up making a 4th to get it all. those stitches had to be removed when the holes closed up. you? big scars or small?

  • I broke clavicle on the left side from a motorcycle accident I am ok for now and I am contemplating getting on anther bike. What do you think?

  • ouch....and double ouch. well, i say don't get on a new bike for a while at least. why not ride again but think safety. i used to ride too but someone ran over mine in a bar parking lot. i don't know about over there but it seems cars try to hit us on bikes here. were you driving or on back? if on back, don't ever ride with that driver again if they had any fault in it. i would never trust them if they were at fault. ride your own and be safe. how long is your recovery?

  • Get well soon. I got surgery on 11-7-08 and I am doing good right now cant wait to start therapy. Well you look great and healthy.

  • ouch. what did they fix on you? was it shoulder too?

  • I am so sorry I wasn't hear for you :((

I think its just wonderful that you got such a great doctor and had an opportunity to go to the Duke hospital where they were well equipped to fix you up.

Hey you can look at this on the bright side - you are the blues singer and you just got a little extra inspiration :) I really hope you are doing okay.

Now what is this that John says about you getting married to Troy...

  • huh? i am getting married? dang...why did no one tell me?

  • hmmm I need to go yell at John hehe

  • I was going to watch the video, but the title says DONT WATCH so I didnt. lol... Eric

  • ha ha ha smart butt. just did not want to be reported for surgery pictures. had that happen on another site once.

  • Prayers!

  • thank you tye...

  • best lay off the bongos for a while :)

    we're all routing for ya.

  • what? no bongos either? that sucks...snicker

  • ouwweee, I can see you can't even laugh, so I won't give you anything to crack up about, take it easy! Watch lots of youtube!

  • yup. laughing, coughing and sneezing hurt too..dag nab it!

  • GLAD YOU FOUND A GOOD DOCTOR.

  • me too!

  • Hope you have a very speedy recovery. Keep the faith and get well soon, Jerry

  • thank you jerry. hoping for quick recovery too but was warned it would be 6 months or longer....

  • I really wish this video had been a little more graphic. I was hoping to show it to a preschool class! Oh well. Don't knock looking like total crap when you make a video, some of us have nearly forged careers out of that! I think a few dark room rants are in order and maybe Loadbrecht could do some stuff with egg and post it on your sight. I'm more than happy to volunteer his services! We are just glad someone gave a darn and took good care of you! Get well soon!

  • lol...you're guys and guys don't care when they look like crap but us chicks do...lol.

  • So great that you finally got the care that you needed Michele!

Hope your road to recovery is smooth!

    Much Love,

    Angel Archer

  • me too gf...me too!

  • i'm so glad you got proper care

i've have wrong diagnostics in the past and it worstened the condition of injuries but today i know when something is wrong, listen to you body and don't worry about the details wrooy about getting better...

    take care ;)

thanks for letting us know how you doing

  • not surprised you know your body well. dancers often do, like athletes. i used to body build and knew something was wrong but until i got to Duke no on really listened to me!

  • glad you didn't give up ;)

  • the pills make you sicker i think!

  • Wow! It looks like you are on your way to recovery now. Glad to see you at least up and around. Keep it up and get well soon.

  • up...yes....around...lol, no. still afraid of crowds and scared about a show the band contracted ages back that takes place next week. wish me safety...lol

  • That was graphic!!! Why did you not warn us???!!!

    Ha ha...just kidding.

    :P

  • ha ha ha. if i had my way we would have video but at least they gave me the photos!

  • Bad luck - I have herd so many stories like this - Why do Doctors not listen to people. They some times think they know it all. My friend almost dies from a brain tumor because the did not listen to him.

  • it is sad these things happen. is your friend doing better now?

  • Yes they took it out and he is fine now - But the right side of his face is paralyzed now.

  • if they had not ignored him would that have happened?

  • They don't know.

  • wow. that is just crazy. tell your friend i am glad he is still around and kicking...and to go kick the first set of doctors...lol.
