And also, dont you think playing RTS is aggravatting the "the other guy clicks faster" effect? What had CM being so revolutionary was that it obliterated that problem with PBEM...
(Sorry for spamming ur page) There's also brazilian Communist military leader Carlos Marighella's "Mini-manual of the urban guerrila fighter", avaliable in multiple languages, for urban scenarios ;) This one focus more on countering a heavy mechanized force. All of em are good reads. It's reported that book was used by insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan in some cases (or at least been found with them)
there's also a book by Zawarqi (the guy responsible for some very nasty surprises the US encountered in iraq) but I cant remember the name right now...
I'm a sucker for Reds and russian gear since CMBB, they're the best :P Having won against the dumb AI on this map, I have to say I expected him to make use of those mountains to reverse his tanks or get flank/top shots on yours. Btw, a great asset for any wannabe Red player would be insurgent leader Abdalla Shamil's "Mujahidin book", a practical insurgency guide. As an amateur artist in even considering illustrating it! It has great ambush and concealment tips
Ah yes you fell into the same trap I did, the armor that arrives later on in the mission is leagues ahead of what the opfor starts with, if you are out of position you can easily get wiped out.
Been playing the game for a week or two now, and am loving it. Whatever it was about this game that reviewers hated when it came out (pathfinding and AI I think), seems long gone by now. The british expansion is great btw, thanks again for recommending this game. Anyone interested in modern asymetrical warfare simulation needs to buy this game. I got it off amazon for 5 dollars. Good times. :)
@Joeyboots80 Yeah I don't have any experience with the original 1.0 game, which is why i'm also confused why it got such crap reviews. I started playing CMSF at 1.21 ;)
@Joeyboots80 Sure, although i'm not a real big fan of turn based. If you have the money make sure you get the marine and british modules, they are good times!
This game doesn't look as bad as the reviewers made it out to be. Actually it looks quite good Have they ironed out the pathing issues and made the WEGO system more like the originals? I loved CM: BO should I get this?
@Joeyboots80 From what I understand the game was deeply flawed at release, but by today's patch (1.21) it is nearly flawless and one of the greatest games ever made. Never played Theatre of War.

Also, if you have played it, what are your thoughts on Theatre of War?
