he would have won it easy , but of course adam booth coulden't allow that could he i woulden't be suprised if he payed paul david a bung "TWICE" to pull out of his 2 sheduled british title eliminators wi anderson , i'v been seein some pics eh groves and david online recentley that were takin ages ago lookin awfly paly
go down to any amateur club and u'l see boxers doin that on the pads i certainley ain't seen him do that in the ring yet to any 1!! and i don't think groves heart should come into it on the anderson fight the only reason he never finished groves is because he took the fight at 2 weeks notice (ANOTHER GREAT PLAN BY HAYEMAKER PROMOTIONS) and by the 6th its plain to see he was out of gas so when george decides to start hittin back the ref stops it , if anderson had the rite prep for this fight
@ImatwFearsKnowan not really. anyone can look like a world champion on pads like that...george groves has skill but this doesn't show it. his heart against kenny anderson was unreal for such a young kid. he'll smash degale
@oasis4ever92 Well said. He lost the plot in the Anderson fight at one point and looked like he was about to take a pasting. Booth gave him a slap and woke him back up, his performance from that point was excellent. Skill, speed, power etc etc are wonderful things to have have. But a fighting spirit is the most vital thing a boxer can possess, and for me personally this lad has it all. Not a trash talking, mouthy cunt either which is nice to see. Hope he can go all the way and do us proud.
@Hardysamnin exactly. the difference between the anderson fight and the degale fight is that George has learnt to move away from danger. with anderson he stayed on the ropes and got punished. against degale as soon as his back touched the ropes he moved. similar to what khan learnt under roach. his chin is still the same, but when khan got hurt against Maidana he didnt fight back, which is why he got knocked out against prescott. Groves can go very far in this business
@oasis4ever92 - People talk about how Anderson took the fight late, and would have won with the full preparation. If there is one thing I've learnt about Adam Booth, is that he tailors his fighters to fight specific fights against specific opponents. This was the first time I've seen Groves take this particular approach into the ring. All credit to him and his team.
as much as i like george he's got to sort that defence out. It doesn't look natural for him. unless he sorts it out i cant see him getting past british level. hope im wrong because he's a top lad and a nice guy of boxing. but he needlessly drops his hands too often for my liking
that reply was ment for another video got mixed up. So im not saying george is bigger or at a bigger weight than kenny i think we all no that , i was meaning the fights before this , andersons been stuck takin on bigger guys on 2 days notice when he's been traing for a fight at supermiddle , were as george has been takin on blown up middleweights. Anyway i think its fair to say if anderson had the rite prep for this fight he would have won...
no clearly im not at that time anderson was fighting at that weight all the time and his weight was always about the lightheavy weight limit.. now he's turned pro he fights at supermiddle so now he's tryin to maintane that weight all the time and leading up to a fight staying at it.. And then as i'v already mentioned u get people pulling out and not wantin to fight him so he gets stuck takin on these bigger guys.. so i do think before i speak!!!
world champion are u being serious!! lookin good on the pads is different from fighting in the ring. He was 10 seconds from bein stopped in his last fight against kenny anderson , but mind u bein managed by haye and booth means he'l get it all put out on a plate for him fighting blown up middle weights so u'r probably rite.
i like george groves, he's a top lad and a hot prospect...but he really needs to sort his defence out. its not working for him this "low left hand" style. I dont know maybe im wrong but i think the best thing for him to do would be just work on his elusiveness if Booth insists on keeping that style for him
Said for a while he needs to tighten up his defense, but im a huge fan of his. Down to earth, respectful, level headed, and always in exciting fights

@dandrige1986 Kenny Anderson won the Commonwealth Games at Light-Heavy weight. You are clearly someone who speaks without thinking!
