  • 2:45 What bugs me about the situation... as soon as Zazu mentioned he was going for help, Scar slaps him... wouldn't Zazu be questioning that?? T_T He may not have remembered much due to being knocked out, but he still watched as Mufasa went to help Simba - leaving him Alone with Scar... make sense to me movie!! So many questions unanswered >_<

  • Gotta have a wildebeest... just a sick one.. A LITTLE SICK ONE!!!

  • This scene still makes me shiver from head to feet !

  • Timon and Pumbaa disliked this video !

  • SCAR?! WTF?! YOU GREEDY WANABE A**HOLE!!

  • God pointed down and said...."DAYUM"

  • The face at 0:45 XD I was crying before mufasa died :D

  • I wish I could like this multiple times.

  • I get chills watching this every time. FUCK SCAR!

  • I remember that this was the coolest scene...and most heavily anticipated due to the graphics for that time.

  • 1:19 the original OH SHIT

  • A new computer program had to be written for the CG wildebeest stampede that allowed hundreds of computer generated animals to run but without colliding into each other. And it took them nearly 3 years to animate the scene "Stambede".

  • 1:19 I know panic sets in and everything... but what's wrong with the tree you were just under??? It seems higher, and they're are rocks blocking the wildebeast from tearing it up. -,- Mufasa's death is Simba's fault.

  • @Wootedness actually good point ^^ Never throught of that one before ^^

  • Gives me goosebumps everytime! 'Long. Live. The. King'

  • best soundtrack ever!! i had it playing in my head at work and just HAD to watch this scene again :D

  • I'm 26 years old. This bit still makes me well up everytime without fail.

  • @herbaldemon Same age as you man...this was such a huge moment of my childhood when this came out.

  • I'm going to cry! Why did I start watching this haha!

  • I know this is just a cartoon (the best ever) but there was a complete opening to the right at 1:29 for Simba to run through

  • there's a couple of minutes of some of the best animation ever

  • Man, I'm 19 years old. I hadn't seen this in 10 years. It was nice to look back...

  • 4:04....I can never get that image out of my head; when mufasa realizes his brother sets this whole mess up!

  • which is the soundtrack of that part?

  • The Lion King is and will always be the BEST Disney film ever!!

  • This music is incredible

  • Just AMAZING. The animation, the music, everything. Such an epic achievement. High School Musical and all that crap doesn't compare to this by a million times. It's a joke.

  • i thought cats always landed on their feet o.0

  • i love Shenzi's face wen she says "Let's go" B-<

  • When i was kid I always tried to imitate the gnu's whenever i was on a steep slope LOL

  • best disney movie ever, and the saddest scene in any movie ever!

  • I want more animated movie like this n less computer generated models

  • would u believe the music here was made by the same guy who made the inception theme music

  • @youbastards100 Yeah man, Hans Zimmer made more than that too, hes a straight genius

  • @youbastards100 Hans Zimmer

  • Long live the king...

  • crazyray22 my msn in profile! The Lion King Stampede

  • simba, this movie is to DIE for!

  • 0:44 "let's go." um, best part of the movie, anyone??

  • @bluedahlia409

Yeah, the face she makes is really.... Yeah I don't have words for it.

  • nature is so strange... you got THOUSANDS OF HORNED WILDEBEEST running away from THREE DAMN HYENAS

  • @sportygu123 people do it to when mass panic breaks out

  • @sportygu123 Wildebeest are pretty stupid. Thousands of deer would run away if you'd scare them, too, to put in comparison.

  • @sportygu123 It's really more like a dozen or so running from hyenas, and the other few thousand running because they don't know what the first dozen are running from. It's a domino effect.

  • @Claresworld ... It all started when Scar said "work on that little roar of yours" so simba kept practicing until he got a really loud one... Then the stampede came.. So he thought he started the stampede... when it was really Scar and the hyenas... :/

  • I cried when Mufasa died. He did what he felt was right by Simba. He was truely a father. no matter if your human or an animal, father and motherly roles stil ltake effect.

  • such a great scene

  • Almost had tears just thinking about this scene and the part when Scar tells Simba to "run away and never return"

  • Goosebumps every time!

  • Oh my gosh, SO FREAKING POWERFUL!!!!

    Brings back SO many memories!

  • The movie that shaped a generation....

  • epic movie!

  • Comment removed

  • @vincentskate01

i didnt know retards could count to 89

  • Those wildebeest are so rude! Here we have a father trying to save his son and what do they do? They run him over and kick the crap out of him! This is thier king for Christ's sake!

  • *cries* This scene is amazing....one of the most powerful scenes in the history of animated movies. Everything is perfect....the animation, the voice acting, the sound effects, and especially the music. It gives me goosebumps (and makes me want to cry) everytime I watch it....it has the same effect on me that it did back when I was a little kid in the 90's. This scene is so powerful and is Oscar worthy. A Masterpiece. Here I am, 22 years old, and I'm crying. I miss this era of Disney.

  • @TheBiographGirl i feel ya.

  • >.< Goosebumps at 1:20 to 1:23 whenever I see this scene.

  • The music in this scene is prove to why Hans Zimmer won the Oscar!

  • @Claresworlds and greenpea246 Also, Simba believed he started the stampede when he roared at that lizard.

  • how many beasts where there?

  • This movie is rated 4 stars.

  • @Quantam7890 Why not 5?!

  • I know it wasn't his fault, But after all these years i still have no idea why It would've been Simba's fault anyway?

  • @Claresworld I think Simba thought it was his fault because if he hadn't been down there in the canyon Mufasa wouldn't have had to rescue him and wouldn't have died - Simba never saw Scar kill him. Thats what Scar made him believe anyway!

  • @Claresworld because simba was a kid and he thought his carelessness caused him to make the stampede causing his fathers death

  • my fav part in this whole clip is when the rocks are shaking on the ground. I freakin love that sound.

  • great... now I got tears in my eyes

  • lol. Zazu got bitch slap

  • I cried.

  • i love how at 2:35 simba screams and in a instant mufasa goes into hero mode with no stopping

  • scar is fucked up -,-

  • One of the stupidest things to do in a stampede is to run in the same direction as the stampede...you get off to the side!

  • @ZillaRocks wat would be the point in the movie if he did that?

  • when i saw this when i was young i was dancing to the epicness of the song the i see scar grab mufasa then he killed him then i cried

  • Ever play this scene on Super Nintendo??? I mean, I'm talking DIFFICULT!!!

  • When Mufasa died... ...I wept. Yeah, the stampede in the gorge is definately the most powerful scene in Disney.

  • I always thought it was so cool when Mufasa ran past Simba while he was hanging on the tree, slid under the wildebeest, and pulled a U-turn to run into the stampede head-on.

  • I wish Disney would go back to making epic animations, that's what kids want, cartoons, not some Hannah Montana crap.

  • @pinpanXXI yeah

  • I just got chills down my spine...

Scar's such a greedy douche, that he killed his brother and nearly killed his nephew.

    I miss 90's Disney

  • I love The Lion King! It's so sad when Mufasa dies!

  • Mufasa's death was so depressing! Scar is such a butt! T^T

  • 26 and i still have trouble not crying when Mufasa died....

  • tell me about it CeetjePK :(

  • Can people could can get same quality of animation of that cgi stampede traditionaly?

  • Darn it...this makes me miss the 90's....this was the king of animation back then before Toy Story came out.

  • Great scene. The Lion King to this date is still the best animated movie i've seen.

And while Pixar has been putting out some amazing movies lately, i still don't think they compare to these Disney movies in terms of how dark the characters can be and the very mature themes they deal with.

Man i miss growing up in the 90s.

  • This song is called "To Die For" by Hans Zimmer. By far one of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

  • APPARENTLY, the little boy who played young Simba had lost his father not long before before doing this film. He said, being in the film helped him get through the death of his dad :) sweet but sad :(

  • You do realize that Jonathan Taylor Thomas was the actor for young Simba and his father DID NOT die...check your facts again please

  • Yeah i knew it might not be true thats why i said apparently. not fact.

  • princess and the frog is utter trash compared to this.

  • Lol 4:01 In fact that was preety cool...that guy is my hero....

  • Disney`s good times!! =D 2-D animation FTW!

  • shits intense lol

  • This is scarier than that paranormal activity, I tellz yah.

  • He put his last ounce of strength into that jump you can tell because he was biting his teeth really hard just trying to hold on...poor Mufasa.

  • why dont you come up with a new anti homo hobby???

  • How dare you bash a great company , probably more than half of the United States population grew up watching Disney movies ,like the presidents?

  • Scar is an evil bitch, poor Simba just had to witness the murder of his father and will always remember that tragedy...

  • Man, poor cub, look just how he feels when he has to accept that his father is dead, is so horrible and sad...

I HATE THIS SCAR, I'M GLAD THE HIENAS ATE HIM

  • so dramatically awesome.....yes.

  • LOL Poopepper (as if your name is gay anyway) please tell me you are one of them inbred homophobics from that church in America ------- fail at birth

    omg hahaha!!!

  • Hello bitch... Go die a painful death...

  • WE DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK. WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT AMERICA. Btw, why do you favorite TLK videos if you hate them?

  • Dude, we DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK. Go jump over a huge cliff with spikes at the bottom. You'll make everyone happy.

    (@POOPIDIOT)

  • I always feel like crying after this scene. It's one of the saddest scenes in the movie. Scar's an asshole.

  • When I see this scene, I can't help it but get mad @ Scar for killing his own brother, even through he's my favorite charrie. >:(

  • 03:35, the music hits me really hard because of the tierdness that he is suffering and strength to not fall...hits me really hard knowing his death is comming after scar

  • This was the most dramatic scene ever , Scar is so evil...

  • It's so dramatic the way he say "brother... Help me!" That part always gets me like... Wow Scar is fucked up.

  • @Izzy11215 I know! He deserved his hyena mauling at the end!

  • I forgot Zazu was knocked out. I was wondering why he didn't help out much during the stampede.

Anyway, this scene is so powerful in the Disney universe. Poor Simba. Especially poor Mufasa.

  • I remember seeing this in theaters. I must have been 9, or something. My fav. was Scar and the hyenas. Of course, I cried when Mufasa died, but .... this is so intense!!

  • most touching moment, when I look at this moment even tears welling or rewind just can not keep emotions (

  • i still cry to this day... i need to man up... but its soooo sad :''''(

  • I feel ya man. Same here. This one of the best movies disney has ever put out.

  • i feel bad for the people who had to sing for this scene :P

  • very dark scene

  • do you think scar was jealous of mufasa? lol

  • err yer,

he is the KING ffs :P

  • it was a joke slushie

  • nah, how'd you come to that conclusion? (sarcasm)

  • i'm thinkin it was between the "be prepared" song and him throwing mufasa off of the cliff?

  • LONG LIVE THE KING!

  • the scene of the stampede scared me when i was a child xDD idk why xD

  • The Disney Classic that is very similar to The Lion King is Bambi.

  • One of the most powerful scenes in cinema history. I mean, how can Scar do that to Simba especially after blaming him for his dad's death when it was Scar? The Lion King is an ultimate animated legend and nobody can deny that.

  • did you know this movie is based on william shaksperes play hamlet

  • everybody doesn't die though.

  • @phonzee101 It was more impacting than reading Shakespeare.

  • @MjoelH I never read hamlet but I agree with you

  • @phonzee101 Actualy it's kinda based off of Bambi.

  • @TheCouragousGirl Bambi? lol wtf, how do you figure?

  • @kingpin22s Let's see. A young male born and destined to be king. A beloved parents death, raised by another, then returns to take his place on top of a rock to watch the rest of the lions. Honestly it's pretty much the same.

  • @TheCouragousGirl nope nope , sorry i have to disagree, bambi was never destined to become king since he is a deer, secondly... simba was not raised by either of his parents since he ran away, he pretty much grew up with pumbaa and timon, together , no one really there to guide him.... so no not really.... they both are good movies tho....

  • @kingpin22s I said it's kinda based on it not entirely otherwise no one would like the movie. Of course they had to add fun colorful characters ,songs, and other stuff but it's kinda the same. And he was great prince of the forest magical...king type...thing. It's pretty much the same since healthy deer have no natural enemies but man.

  • @phonzee101 and me who thought it was based on the Japanese movie of Kimba the white lion cub... silly me -_-

  • @phonzee101

    Ya I just realized that.

  • @phonzee101 I read that somewhere, the second is based around Romeo and Juliet except with a happy ending.

  • @SJMJ91

I agree with you that the fact that The Lion King is a animated legend.

But there is one person who has denied that: Confused Mathew

Watch his review and I think you will know why.

  • @SJMJ91

I give a million of tumbs up on that one. The Lion King was one of the most popular Disney Movies in the 90s.

  • @EGPicturesStudios Oh yes...most definitely...agreed...cannot argue with you there. =D

  • @EGPicturesStudios the really sad thing was it got turned down while it was being created for pocohantas. After that movie was up and done work resumed on The Lion King and did much better.

  • @EGPicturesStudios Of all time i think you'll find haha

  • @EGPicturesStudios yes it was my favorite movie when i was a kid

  • @EGPicturesStudios i even had the game it was so cool to me

  • @EGPicturesStudios Certainly was! :D

  • @EGPicturesStudios 90's? uh yea try of all time, that's a little closer to the mark.

  • @SJMJ91 I agree! I'm glad Scar got what was coming to him in the end.....

  • its at 2:23

  • sumba lmao!

  • pwn xd

  • aw :( i cry everytime i see this

    rip daddy :(

  • Am I the only one who rolls around the place laughing at Shenzi's face when she says 'Let's go'. Lol such a moving and musically astonishing scene, but that one facial expression just makes me lol :Pxx

  • Not Gonna Lie i Alway Laugh At Shenzi's Face XD Then I Cry Later// :(

  • look up "to die for- lion king sound track" to hear the whole score, I get goose bumps listening to it every time

  • classic disney movies are way better than what is out now. makes me cry everytime.......

  • still makes me cry. . . DAMN YOU DISNEY!!!

  • always makes me cry ;(

  • I know right? [/sarcasm]

  • at 3:25 that is the saddest face i've ever seen

  • oh god thats terrible. i can watch gory stuff in normal films but cant even handle this DISNEY CARTOON

  • DAMN, how many wildebeest are in this stampede????

  • I KNOW RIGHT?!

  • Oh, God....I'm nearly seventeen and I can't handle it when Mufasa dies. Ughhhhh.....*shudder*

  • The scream right at the end is what gets me. Mufasa's scream.

  • And now that you've heard it, you can never unhear it. o.o

  • This is by far one of the best scenes in any Disney movie... of all time.
