2:45 What bugs me about the situation... as soon as Zazu mentioned he was going for help, Scar slaps him... wouldn't Zazu be questioning that?? T_T He may not have remembered much due to being knocked out, but he still watched as Mufasa went to help Simba - leaving him Alone with Scar... make sense to me movie!! So many questions unanswered >_<
A new computer program had to be written for the CG wildebeest stampede that allowed hundreds of computer generated animals to run but without colliding into each other. And it took them nearly 3 years to animate the scene "Stambede".
1:19 I know panic sets in and everything... but what's wrong with the tree you were just under??? It seems higher, and they're are rocks blocking the wildebeast from tearing it up. -,- Mufasa's death is Simba's fault.
Just AMAZING. The animation, the music, everything. Such an epic achievement. High School Musical and all that crap doesn't compare to this by a million times. It's a joke.
@sportygu123 It's really more like a dozen or so running from hyenas, and the other few thousand running because they don't know what the first dozen are running from. It's a domino effect.
@Claresworld ... It all started when Scar said "work on that little roar of yours" so simba kept practicing until he got a really loud one... Then the stampede came.. So he thought he started the stampede... when it was really Scar and the hyenas... :/
I cried when Mufasa died. He did what he felt was right by Simba. He was truely a father. no matter if your human or an animal, father and motherly roles stil ltake effect.
Those wildebeest are so rude! Here we have a father trying to save his son and what do they do? They run him over and kick the crap out of him! This is thier king for Christ's sake!
*cries* This scene is amazing....one of the most powerful scenes in the history of animated movies. Everything is perfect....the animation, the voice acting, the sound effects, and especially the music. It gives me goosebumps (and makes me want to cry) everytime I watch it....it has the same effect on me that it did back when I was a little kid in the 90's. This scene is so powerful and is Oscar worthy. A Masterpiece. Here I am, 22 years old, and I'm crying. I miss this era of Disney.
@Claresworld I think Simba thought it was his fault because if he hadn't been down there in the canyon Mufasa wouldn't have had to rescue him and wouldn't have died - Simba never saw Scar kill him. Thats what Scar made him believe anyway!
I always thought it was so cool when Mufasa ran past Simba while he was hanging on the tree, slid under the wildebeest, and pulled a U-turn to run into the stampede head-on.
Great scene. The Lion King to this date is still the best animated movie i've seen.
And while Pixar has been putting out some amazing movies lately, i still don't think they compare to these Disney movies in terms of how dark the characters can be and the very mature themes they deal with.
APPARENTLY, the little boy who played young Simba had lost his father not long before before doing this film. He said, being in the film helped him get through the death of his dad :) sweet but sad :(
03:35, the music hits me really hard because of the tierdness that he is suffering and strength to not fall...hits me really hard knowing his death is comming after scar
I remember seeing this in theaters. I must have been 9, or something. My fav. was Scar and the hyenas. Of course, I cried when Mufasa died, but .... this is so intense!!
One of the most powerful scenes in cinema history. I mean, how can Scar do that to Simba especially after blaming him for his dad's death when it was Scar? The Lion King is an ultimate animated legend and nobody can deny that.
@kingpin22s Let's see. A young male born and destined to be king. A beloved parents death, raised by another, then returns to take his place on top of a rock to watch the rest of the lions. Honestly it's pretty much the same.
@TheCouragousGirl nope nope , sorry i have to disagree, bambi was never destined to become king since he is a deer, secondly... simba was not raised by either of his parents since he ran away, he pretty much grew up with pumbaa and timon, together , no one really there to guide him.... so no not really.... they both are good movies tho....
@kingpin22s I said it's kinda based on it not entirely otherwise no one would like the movie. Of course they had to add fun colorful characters ,songs, and other stuff but it's kinda the same. And he was great prince of the forest magical...king type...thing. It's pretty much the same since healthy deer have no natural enemies but man.
@EGPicturesStudios the really sad thing was it got turned down while it was being created for pocohantas. After that movie was up and done work resumed on The Lion King and did much better.
