what type of retrieve is going to work best...I see the pike in your clip was really

eyeballing the bait fish...and as soon as that lil' critter moved substantially, BLAM!

Cool vid i vacth northerns as big as 3 punds on average in our bay thats abou 30 feet wide, but i was fishing in a paddle boat and a 24.3 pound northern snagged my line. Im like oh crap forgot the net on shore and how the f*** am i supposed to get this butthole into the boar without help?! Unthankfully it snappedy line ;(

I find it interesting how pike study the situation before striking. The sucker might have lived a little longer if he didn't wiggle. He probably would have still been eaten, but that's what triggered the strike.

pike usually strike at the head I find so I like to hook them through the lips so when they do they usually hit the hook
