  • but its not climbing its being pulled up my a assender climbing is BOTH ARMS AND LEGS ON THE WALL !!!

  • I am the mountain lion watching watch your knuckles on low angle terrain!

  • Wow!

Thanks a lot, Chris. I am using a Silent Partner and I am having some trouble ascending my pitches to clean them. I guess that should solve it.

  • i think there is a mountain lion watching you in the background....

  • Very informative, very educational, excellent form; I did however note a potentially serious oversite: I would recommend to my esteemed colleague that he clip a locking carabiner to the top of each ascender(screw down so you don't screw up). This would secure the ascender to the rope proventing accidental release of the ascender mechanism. Remember, safety first.... We have to look out for each other. Take Care and climb high! -DAR

  • @centurionknight When cleaning a pitch in rock climbing, the top ascender is repeatedly removed from the rope to pass the piece, which is why the caribiner is not in the upper hole of the ascender. The next video in this series describes how to back up this system. The bottom ascender can usually use the extra biner to lock it to the rope. However, when jugging a traversing pitch, the caribiner in the top is needed as the angle of load and the angle of the rope will not match.

  • thnx, this clarified a lot :)

  • ty chris
