I have listened to interviews given by Harry Belafonte. Even when he speaks, you can sense the sweetness in his voice. He does't need a a band to back him, cos his talent is natural.

Great vocalist...sings for the song...no unnecessary hot dog, show-off 'look at me ain't I a great singer' notes that get in the way of the song. Just my opinion, I respect those who prefer the hot dog singers. Peace

My mom loved this song. Belafonte, known for Calipso at the beginning of his career, had some really wonderful songs - including this one. My dad had a reel-to-reel of his Streets I Have Walked Along album.
