That's everyone I recognized and it's super weird because I moved to Athens 2 years ago and just met them all recently but this video was made here over a decade ago.

  • I remember watching this video ten years ago on a local TV channel late at night. I always wanted to live in a small boring town like this.

  • I ♥ B&S I ♥ most of their early videos, I ♥ this song....

But this video, is waaay yo hipster I think...

  • you dont know what hipster means do you?

besides I've seen few videos I like as much as this, including videos from "b&s"

  • i love b&s too, and also find this to be one of my favourites; i agree with the other guy in that i don't get hipster out of it, though i can sorta see where you're coming from. i think it's just genuine fun, though. haha, i guess it doesn't matter anyway.

  • Is this really Athens Georgia? Anyone who could tell me the true setting for this town would be awesome.

  • It's Athens. I grew up in Ga. and I definitely know Athens when I see it. Also there's a bunch of Elephant 6 people in the video who were all based out of there.

  • Outside of Early Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Minders...I could pick anyone from the E 6 out of a line up....other than Martin Leper, I've bought that guy too many beers.

Thanks for the geography lesson, Athens might be the only reason to enter the South. Lord knows I'd be afraid to go south of the Mason Dixon. Stupid liberal.

  • The southeast is just like anywhere else in the country. It's got it's pockets of niceness (Athens, Nashville, New Orleans, Chapel Hill etc.) surrounded by a bunch of beautiful countryside, intolerant rednecks, mind numbing suburbs and everything in between. I don't think you can write anywhere out.

  • the best song ever !! 5 STARS

  • Hey people!

Does anybody knows the technical specs for this music video? I think it was filmed with Super 16mm cameras. Anyway, nice song and video! =)

  • ohh my.. we are getting older... so fast... we should.. just.. enjoy...dream.. live...and love, of course. great song from b & s.

  • Ade vre malakeezmeno. Min su pidixo tin atherfi. Suvlajithiko o Andonis

  • This video is so beautiful and a bit sexy. I love how Stevie lets the guitar be a part of the percussion.

  • its a motown guitar technique

  • that was beautiful

  • i agree

  • the video doesn't do the song justice. It has no pace.

  • I disagree.

  • check out (DOUG MAC DONALD BAND)

  • muito loko

  • I spy with my e6 eye, Will Cullen Hart, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster and that guy who plays euphonium from The Music Tapes and Nana Grizol.

  • this is so nice

  • This video really makes me want to reminisce about Athens, though the song itself is great as well. Long live the E6 and B&S.

  • I know Jeff Mangum is in here... correct me if I'm wrong but is he the one drinking the milk? Where is he?

  • 1:44 is julian koster from Neutral Milk hotel?!?!

Oh, it's spirit! The song!! Men, this is life!!

  • these videos are just transcendent, how do they do it???

  • hhaha, such an awesome video, the best part is when the guy is chugging milk, lol

  • etraordinary song... Probably one of the best by B&B! Just a bullet of pure energy going into your head and making it move crazily!

  • Muito Bom!!!

    Valeu!

  • who's the girl at the 29 second mark?

  • is that Scott Spillane I am seeing from Neutral Milk Hotel at 3:01?

  • That's exactly what i thought. Anyone know?

  • yes, that's one of the best shots!

everyone from neutral milk is in that video except for jeremy.

  • Probably my favourite thing ever

  • (sic)

  • thx

  • My favorite thing about Belle and Sebastian is how they're all about retaining the good things about being a child while still appreciating that you're an adult, and this video captures that perfectly.

  • This is probably one of the coolest comments I've ever read about a band I like. I agree.

  • Do YOU ever feel this way?

I like how their songs are an attempt to reach out to people. I like how a lot of shots were just young people looking into the camera, it's so expressive of what this song is about.

It's great to see that there are so many people out there who appreciate this song too! I always feel just a little precious when I play it with people in the room.

  • no...cauze diz ma first time to listen to their song, haha, sorry i was kidding...ts a nice song...

  • VIAGEM SÓ ESSE VÍDEO Ó.

  • But it all fades into morning when you open your eyes...

This is brilliant in every imagineable way.

  • This song with this clip seems a ancient dream I used to have when I was child.

  • Great song, damn near ruined by the stupid, superfluous talky bit.

  • Hey that's Corine Tucker from Sleater-Kinney on there!!!

  • excelente

  • this is my favorite song for many reasons :)

  • The two lines where Stuart asks if you could "put a name to someone else's sigh" and a "face to someone else's eyes" might just be my favorite lyrics in any song by any band. This is a fantastic tune!

  • tonk you, tonk you, tonk you!
