1:39 is Julian Koster of Neutral Milk Hotel / the Music Tapes. 1:47 is Robbie Cucchairo of the Music Tapes / Nana Grizol 3:02 is Scott Spillane from Neutral Milk Hotel / The Gerbils 3:52 is Will Cullen Hart of Olivia Tremor Control / Circulatory System
That's everyone I recognized and it's super weird because I moved to Athens 2 years ago and just met them all recently but this video was made here over a decade ago.
i love b&s too, and also find this to be one of my favourites; i agree with the other guy in that i don't get hipster out of it, though i can sorta see where you're coming from. i think it's just genuine fun, though. haha, i guess it doesn't matter anyway.
It's Athens. I grew up in Ga. and I definitely know Athens when I see it. Also there's a bunch of Elephant 6 people in the video who were all based out of there.
Outside of Early Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Minders...I could pick anyone from the E 6 out of a line up....other than Martin Leper, I've bought that guy too many beers.
Thanks for the geography lesson, Athens might be the only reason to enter the South. Lord knows I'd be afraid to go south of the Mason Dixon. Stupid liberal.
The southeast is just like anywhere else in the country. It's got it's pockets of niceness (Athens, Nashville, New Orleans, Chapel Hill etc.) surrounded by a bunch of beautiful countryside, intolerant rednecks, mind numbing suburbs and everything in between. I don't think you can write anywhere out.
My favorite thing about Belle and Sebastian is how they're all about retaining the good things about being a child while still appreciating that you're an adult, and this video captures that perfectly.
I like how their songs are an attempt to reach out to people. I like how a lot of shots were just young people looking into the camera, it's so expressive of what this song is about.
It's great to see that there are so many people out there who appreciate this song too! I always feel just a little precious when I play it with people in the room.
The two lines where Stuart asks if you could "put a name to someone else's sigh" and a "face to someone else's eyes" might just be my favorite lyrics in any song by any band. This is a fantastic tune!

Does anybody knows the technical specs for this music video? I think it was filmed with Super 16mm cameras. Anyway, nice song and video! =)

This video really makes me want to reminisce about Athens, though the song itself is great as well. Long live the E6 and B&S.
