  • is is really pretty

  • Thanks, AVDJ, but this is really something, because I was just thinking of this video earlier in the day. I hadn't thought of it in months! That's quite a coincidence, enough of one to mention it, I think!

    Wow.

  • Patrice, thanks for coming to this video. :)

  • I lost my mom this monday, i wish you the best, and i'd like to hope there will be an end to this empty feeling consuming me... it's like a big hole being torn out of you, my condolances to you, i hope it has gotten easier over time.

  • Hi dreaminvasion. I'm so sorry that you've lost your Mother, and I do remember the emptiness I felt when I first lost mine about eight years ago. That feeling diminishes over time, yes. The hole you're describing will certainly heal. There will be moments after that when the loss hits you again, such as this past Mother's Day for me, but you'll process that and be fine. dreaminvasion, you are very welcome to communicate with me privately, if the need arises. :)

  • Karacaw...I give it a red carnation in Japan in Mother's Day. The person who lost mother like me white. But I hate it. I give a red carnation to mother. Thank you.

  • Naruyo, thank you for explaining, and also for watching. I wondered about the right color! :)

  • I feel like giving you a standing ovation! I want to clap and clap...this was awesome! Oh my. You are a brilliant video maker.

    clap clap clap clap

  • Zoe, you're good for my ego. I missed my Mom so much that day. I just wanted to do something for her. Thank you for watching this. ;-)

  • I'm back to watch again. *sigh* Still a masterpiece. I'm sure you Mom would have loved it. I'm thinking about~since watching this~ making one for my Dad.

  • I would love to see that video, and your Dad would be very proud of you. :)

  • Videos like this make me sad and happy. So many friends and family are gone home. Several of my friends departed this year one of them this week.

    Frank

  • I'm so sorry Frank. "Gone home" has meaning for me too, and I know that place in the heart. I'm sorry.

  • You have such close ties with your family and where you have come from to be where you are today. Such a wonderful video.

    5 Stars from me.

    Keep Safe.

  • Jason, I threw this together Sunday afternoon. I'd seen a few other Mother's Day videos and thought about how I'd promoted my Dad so much here because of the traveling shoes, but had said so little about my Mom. Of course, I didn't say a word in this video, did I? :)

  • I think said lots.

  • I should check these messages before I send them, the last one should have been .....

I think you said lots, very touching indeed.

  • I got the message Jason. I was hoping the video would say more than I could say in words. :)

  • very cool

  • Thanks :)

  • Most eloquent!

  • Thanks Andy. :)

  • Lovely tribute, elegantly done.

  • Thanks Robert. :)

  • 5*'s BTW so mmmuuuuhhhh!!!!

  • mademelook! I forgot I disabled the ratings! HA!

  • wow!! I Love this!!! you really are the sweetest person!!! ~HHJ~

  • Thanks HHJ! Hey! That mountain in the background? That's the one where you'll have to find me. :D

  • That was beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • Thanks panykattack. I do miss her sometimes. :)

  • What a lovely tribute to your mom kalacaw.

  • Thanks Maureen! :)

  • Hi! I still remember the days when my Nana wore gloves in public. This is a lovely video.

  • I remember those days, and I had white gloves when I was a little girl. The were very impractical for tree climbing and catching frogs. ;-)

  • Betty, I'm sure you're mom is watching and smiling :o)

    Have a great week

  • Brenda! Thank you! I hope you're doing okay. :)

  • Hi Betty,

    Beautiful remembrance! -Dennis

  • Thanks Dennis! :)

  • Lovely vid Betty.

  • Thanks Moomay! Happy Mother's Day ... uh, yesterday. ;-)

Thank you for sharing NaruyoJapan's video with me. I was touched by her kindness, Moomay, and that prompted this video. My Mom loved the cherry blossom trees in D.C., and would occasionally talk about the fact that they were a gift from Japan. :)

  • I had a wonderful day with my daughter.

  • Good, good, good! I'm glad you both enjoyed the day Moomay! I know you're a great Mother, and you are certainly a great friend. :)

  • thank you Betty! that was very nice :) Mothers Day comes at a great time of year, flowers blooming and trees budding, its perfect!

  • I never thought about that Peter, but you're right. We're from very near the D.C. area, in Alexandria, Virginia. My Mother loved the cherry blossom trees around the Jefferson Memorial, which were a gift from Japan in 1912.

  • Beautiful.. Mothers Day is at the end of this month, in Sweden.. which is one of the reasons I'm going there now.. :)

  • Is it? I looked on the Internet for the various days when Mother's Day was celebrated, but I missed that one. Thanks for coming to this video Rob. :)

  • Oh, I always do my best to watch your vids.. :)

  • I know you do Rob. I'm appreciative too. Sometimes it's hard for me to get to everybody's videos, and I appreciate when they come to mine. :)

  • :-)

  • This was lovely Betty. xxx

  • Thanks Lesley! I threw it together really. I'd seen a few Mother's Day videos and I guess they got to me a little. :)

  • so sweet Kalacaw! i missed my mom too! but they are not gone, alwas in our heart's lol jim!

  • Jim, it's true! They are! When we discovered that my Mother was mortally ill, at certain point I cried and said that I didn't want to lose her. She replied that she would always be with me. Now, when I think of all the women in my life, and how they have so often held me up, I'm reminded of my Mother's promise. :)

  • Beautiful..

  • Thank you Daryl. I appreciate that you took a moment to see this. I just wanted to thank my Mom yesterday. :)

  • Very nice tribute ! ALOHA!

  • Thanks Rick! Aloha! :)

  • That was a very nice tribute to your mother. I'm sorry she is gone. I know how bad it hurts losing a parent and how much you miss them. I'm sure your mother would be very proud to see this. Betty, you're the best!!

  • Well, she's been gone eight years. Pete just lost his Mom last year, and Juhler's wife passed away last year too. I guess I just felt alone today. I don't feel that way anymore though.

    Thanks George. :)

  • This is beautiful... You did a great job for whom i'm sure was a great woman... I Love my mommie and i love to see these mothers day videos... Thanks for shareing... KluTz

  • KluTzy! I miss you too! I've watched some of them but it's hard today.

    Love you babe. ;-)

  • I am learning from some folks videos that Mothers day is whimsical for many as they are left to their memmories... cyberhugletts

  • Cyberhugletts gratefully accepted and returned, PappyStu. On another Mother's Day, I could make a whimsical video about my Mom. This just wasn't the year. Tomorrow will be different though. :)

  • Heartwarming.

  • Thanks Edwin. I wasn't going to make one of these, but I have to admit to missing my Mom a little today. :)

  • Beautifully done, Betty. I miss mine, too.

  • Thanks Moosie. I'm sorry. I guess it's nice to have Moms that we miss though. ;-)

  • Yeah, I know there are people who aren't so fortunate. Mine gave us 80 wonderful years, and left us a legacy of great memories. She was a very special lady.

  • I know. I met her son recently, and I know his Mom was very special. She came shining through beautifully.

  • (Blush) :-)

  • Did she have a favorite color?

  • Yeah, it was the lavender of an orchid I grew for her years ago. It lives on and blooms, as a reminder.

  • That's very touching Moosie. Thanks for telling me. :)

  • Glad to. She was an avid gardener with a passion for roses and orchids. I taught her how to grow orchids when they moved down here in the 80s, and that Brassocattleya was her first, and always her favorite, because of the color.

  • That was beautiful!

  • Thanks H/J/L! I do miss her today, but that's the way of things. I know that. :)

  • I miss my Mom too so very much! What a beautiful Mother's day memory!

  • Karolyn, I know you miss your Mom. Things aren't quite the same when they're gone, are they? ;-)

  • Marvelous. I'm sure mom would be proud.

  • Peter, I hope so. Thank you so much for seeing this. :)

  • this is beautiful.

  • You're very kind. Thanks AVDJ. :)
