  • i love rammstein

  • thats epic :D

  • thats cool its definately small and efecient

  • WOW! Excellent. I would have never thought that was possible.

  • @seanross68 everything is posseble

  • i wont get beaten up by chuck norris because he wont beat smart people.

  • Flowerpower :))

  • wow it actually worked well, impressively you obviously know what your doing today's generation should learn things like this my computers speakers blew and i was desperate i tried this but my audio plug and cord are bigger but thanks to you i am always thinking of ways to make homemade accessorys keep it up your doing the world good!

  • @PranavSKadam Actually, youre wrong there. That applies to wall outlets though -> Blue ="hot", Black(sometimes brown) = cold , green/yellow striped = GND.

In headphone cables, however. They share a common GND, (usually black, sometimes just enamel coated)

And the seperate channels have one signal cable, or "+" as I guess you could call it. These are usually red and white (as known from RCA cables), but may vary in color.

    Hope this settles things :)

  • A 5 time stronger magnet and 5 times more wire equals much higher sound? - please help.

  • @96GmusicG96 Yes, it will raise the output effect.

However, 5 times stronger magnet will not make your speaker "5 times louder"

  • Irrelevant and/or stupid comments will not be approved.

  • Ok i made this and its SUPER QUIET any ideas on making it louder???

  • du hast meich!

  • @hippieskater911 Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab' nichts gesagt...

  • @grrumpff i know that your singing du hast (my anthem) but i think he meant to say you lied to him :p

  • @hippieskater911 its du hast mich i know some german

  • I have watched a ton of these diy speaker vids. They never get old.

  • @intheshitter its not a joke, mate... its a simple weekend project.

Do some research on how magnetic fields and electricity affect eachother.

  • @grrumpff wow sorry if my post came across that way. I meant it as I love it how its so easy to make one of the most used things in the world. It never gets old seeing a bunch of random stuff put together and bringing it to life :)

  • Nice!

  • Cool lol i liked it and i will make it soon

  • so coooollll !!!! i want to try to make one !! :D it seems to work so...why not?.. :PP

  • funny and nice

  • hmm seems ghetto to me when u could just buy 1 for like 5 bucks or less

  • what is that song??

  • @finlego97 du hast

  • Nice one ! :-)) Demonstrates the principal anyway ......

  • @Birdy101235

You could get one that's better than this one for even less than 5 bucks. I just made this video for people who want to try to make their own. ;)

Understanding how the speaker works is half the fun imo

  • @grrumpff i would waiste 100 bucks to make a speaker coz its fukin fun to make amps speakers woofers etc etc :D

  • thumbs up for Rammstein - du hast

  • where do you get the coil wire?

  • Materials wasted i tryed it

  • @daniellaraman Then you did something wrong...

  • @azo9360 oh youre so funny pointing that out

No one has done it before either...

  • do you know the tech specs? such as:

    speaker diameter (mm)

    impedance

    frequency range

    if not thats ok thanks

  • @randombakuganboy I dont, sorry... Couldve found out, if I hadnt already trashed the speaker :/

  • when i winding coil, I feel the hands that vibrate, but when intensify the speakers ,can be heard popping

    I need help!

    I bought a compression coil

  • @mateo123i i know how speaker works

  • @mateo123i

Mate... If you think you can use a coil spring, you're so far off I'm not even going to pretend I even want to help you.

  • hey it only works with paper bowl? we cant use other material?

  • @Hussain8881

No, it should be made of kryptonite, but paper works fine.

Ask a stupid question and you'll get a stupid answer.

  • @grrumpff YOUR A DOUCHE!!!

  • @WoWkiddymage I know right :P

  • Hey sorry bro

  • DU HAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like there's no reason it shouldn't work, just needs an amplifier as well to boost up the signal from the Ipod =)

  • please answer can you do it to whit a red and black wire

    and how strong magnet?

  • not loud as i thought lol

  • Do you HAVE to sodder the wires together?

  • great video, really helped me.

  • thank you for this video, i enjoyed watching it,

  • I found this video very helpful, my question is do you need a two wire headphone jack? if so why? couldn't you just use one?

  • nice video thanks

  • quick cuting...:P

  • What does the nut do?

  • @Rockflier

Keeps the magnet in place. I didn't want to use glue, because i want to be able to use the magnet for another project later ;)

  • One quick question. Is there a way that I can use something else other that copper? Something like aluminum, nickel etc.?

    Please answer.

  • @LaughingMaster3000

Other metals should work, as long as the wire is insulated.

Copper has the lowest resistance, which is why it's used here.

  • awesome, now does it really works i want to try it, but it would be sad if i had to go to the store and buy all this stuff for nothin

  • cool i used this to help with a science project for school

  • the tape inside the wire was removed?

  • thanx for the great video dude.... i have made a video response (actually i have build the speaker to check how difficult it is and also in order to fix a speaker that the coil burned) now that i understand how it works when i fix my speaker i will post it.......

Again thanx for the great video...keep on!!!!!!!!!

  • How many times do you wind the wire around the 'round object" ? Does it matter? Also, when wrapping the wire around the round object can you overlap the wires or do you need to try and not do that?

  • @trevelian23 More turns will increase the effect of the speaker ;)

And if the wires overlap or not doesnt matter. Try to wind one "layer", and then another on top of the first one, (and so on) to make the coil more compact. I usually apply a tiny amount of nail polish between every layer, so that the turns wont slip apart. You'll have to let the nail polish harden though.

  • Like for the song !!! :D

  • Would using a stronger magnet/ wattage amplifier make it louder?

  • Can you make a video telling us how to connect up a 5.1 version of this please?

  • Wow! Very useful! I have to create one for my cours, and I'll do a little bit like you! Thank you! :)

  • @maximmilien1995

Im glad you liked it :P I truly am.

    Make a video of yours!

  • 1) Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoke

  • wooow cool idea :D :D

  • For rapping the wire I find it is best to put a small plastic bottle in the end of a cordless drill with the small opening in the drill and the larger part of the bottle for rapping the wire round it takes about 10 secs. also if you spray some wd-40 in the coil it comes off a lot easier.

  • Mine dosent work? Only difference is my magnet isn't rare earth, but still strong, and the wires on the coil aren't as good, and the audio plug is twisted, not soldered, please help!

  • that's uninsulated wire

  • @stevo8782

    Enamel coating.

  • @grrumpff ah i stand corrected. should've thought about that one.

  • i feel like im back in elementary school

    great project xD

  • @joed293 apology accepted ;)

lemme know how your speaker turns out :P

  • can you halp me with connections?

i have 3 wires from cable

it is a rad one, a white one and one wire is all around that 2 wires...

how i connect spool on it???

  • @sunkazz

Red one is signal (sound) for the right channel, white is the left channel, and the odd one that's wrapped around em is ground. ;)

so, connect your red+white to one end of the coil, and the odd one to the other end.

this will however make your speaker draw alot of power, so make sure your amp can handle it without taking damage

  • @sunkazz , the red wire will be your right positive connection and the White wire will be your left positive connection(if you had 2 speakers running at one time). The wire that surrounds the two enamel coated wires is the common Ground, which is where all of your negative connections would go. Hope it helps :)

  • this works ?

  • @MrBoyprodigy Works, but not too well x)

  • @grrumpff thanx for showing how to coil...i tried , n after 2 attempts i suceeded and the sound was good for its type

  • @joed293

och ni britter är alltid störst, bäst och vackrast.

bara för att jag pratar engelska med en amerikansk dialekt så betyder det inte att jag är en av dem.

    tänk innan du öppnar käften.

  • its a good idea to buy a spealer it have help me ! thank you

  • spätestens beim test muss jeder bemerkt haben das du en deutscher bist stimmts?

  • @kullerkeksable Gesundheit ;)

  • @grrumpff sag ich doch

  • @kullerkeksable I... Dont speak german -.-

  • for the ones who don't know how a speaker works: When a electric wire goes true a magnetic field, it generates a force called the lornezforce or something, so everytime you 'speak' into a mic. their will run electric true the wire and generates a lorenzforce wich makes the conus will move and will make sound

my english is not good so u hope u understand ;')

  • That's a paper bowl, not a paper plate... But anyways, this is gonna be for my science fair project, thanks!

  • @TheChipperNickel LOL tell us what u get on it! lol

  • @gamewiz0070 K :P

  • haha this guy must be stupid or something, cuz ITS A PAPER BOWL you idiot lol

  • 3:43 THATS ALL I NEED TO KNOW

  • @crome212 HAHAHAHxD!! Youre sick xD

  • Just wondering, must the wire be laminated and what stores would carry it?

  • that little thing actually makes some noise !

    Great man, keep it up

  • guerra nid reda hust

  • Ok, I have a different question. Do you have to solder the wires or can you just twist them together?

  • @0IIIIIII0Sahara Try ;)

If the wire is insulated, then it won't work. However, you can scrape off the insulation with a knife. - Don't use an expensive knife, since this will make it dull.

  • Engineering is so fascinating.

    Thank you for the video

  • for a hommade speaker like this, definitly need an amp!

  • Thanks alot, my speaker works great!

  • Now this is what I call speakers :D I believe you for this tutorial, and great job.

But I mean cmon wat the hell is with HouseHoldHacker, he thinks you can make speakers with one hand.

  • nice work

  • so you made an subwoofer :D

  • hahaha funny, but is good

  • i like what your doing but i don't understand what your doing

  • I did but I used a plastic cup ant it was wsome

  • can i use a square magnet?

  • Instead of saudering could you use electical tape?

  • can i use gold ring?

  • @akhil1133

See i think this is funny... I just told you you definately need a coil, or else it wont work.

Any metal will work. Copper has the best price:performance ratio though.

  • can any metal works instead of copper

  • can i use any coppor wire?

    or insulated is different?

  • can i use any coppor wire?

    or insulated is different?

  • @akhil1133

I've answered that same question more times than you've heard your own name. I'm not going to answer again... <.<

Check the older comments, or do some researching on the way a coil functions.

If you don't use insulated wire, why not just use a metal ring?

Pour some water over your audio source (e.g. your iPod) to make it louder ;)

  • great video...and it is very simple so go on to better speakers!

  • lol i took the coil and the magnet from my blown out speaker and i just put acouple plates and some sound killing stuff inside it and covered it with a big napkin. and it sounds like a subwoofer XD

  • I heard no soud trought this video?

  • excelent work, but what is the thing that goes under the magnet? that thing that is inside of the CD box

  • I built something like this from a book exept this one I sealed in to a plastic box and ran off a 25 watt amp.

  • lmfao stfu with your fake shyt ese

  • @kenyirafael Its not fake considering this is the same mechanics as a professionally made speaker except they use different materials such as instead of the folded cardboard and cd case its a metal frame they use a lot more copper wire a much bigger magnet and instead of the bowl they use a specially coated paper rolled into a cone

  • i've got everything but those magnets...hmmm i better pick up some old broken earphones

  • hi can anyone help me iam Arab i don't know the what is the INSULATED WIRE .............. is it a copper thing or what

  • @alissabandaly

:P insulated means it has a coating of some kind, as if the wire had a shell. The insulation is usually enamel (look up a translation to your language)

the coating is usually transparent, which makes hard to know wether the wire is insulated or not.

  • @grrumpff like it has a plastic thing

  • why do you imediatly think he dosen't speak english?

  • @alissabandaly Insulated Wire / "Magnet Wire" / Transformer Wire are all the same.

  • @855h0le thnx I found it

  • can used headphone work as the audio jack

  • note to self, get bigger scissors...

  • tried it... didn't work :(

i guess i did the coil wrong couse the wire was not tight enough, or i missed connecting the wires...

  • dud hes playing du hast

  • The real magyver

  • its got a flower :)

  • that's what she said at 0:35

  • @martinfernandonhs93 i think it's a he but who cares

  • its a paper bowl

  • Your voice is extremely relaxing.. I'm jealous

  • will refrigerator magnets work?

  • could you by any chance explain to me how you made this? like why each of the specific items were used for. please reply asap thanks

  • what did you put in the cd case?

  • what did put inside the cd case?

  • "You're gonna need some scissors." *Pulls out a beast Shankafier 2000*

  • @xx00zero00xx "That's not a knife..."

  • I actually happened to just have all of that stuff. so i made it and it worked. i substituted the magnet for about 4 of those magnetics magnets that come with those toys. they are the same thing really.

  • I dont wanna make it and not have it work (like the householdhacker fags)

  • @43james43 it works. i did it. I'm about to make a video of mine

  • fuckin stupid get speakers from the trash at least

  • nice

  • It works .....

  • i would use electrical tape

  • Ummmmm.....that's a bowl.....

    Still an awesome video though

  • Great Speaker! I just suggest for getting the coil of the round object to use "Cold Water" and it will slide right off!

  • we can eat in it and also enjoy our music lolx.... nice video

  • wow very nice thank man

  • woo du hast

  • does this shit actually work? we tried it and it didn't

  • why does it have to be insolated copper wire? what happens if it isnt insolated?

  • Awsome, are you like magyver or something.

  • does the take have to be scotch tape? or could it be electrical or even caulking?

  • can u use a paper cup instead?

  • Cool! I could listen to music on a paper plate!!!!

  • You should explain the coil part more in depth, That's the part i'm not sure of.

P.s. your voice is rather calming.

  • god i hate new youtube!!

  • can anyone tell me if it actuly worked instead of being retarded

  • lol you sound like HHH

  • Not trying to be negative or anything, but can you tell me HOW this works? I kinda dont believe it before i understand it, but really good vid anyways, man!

  • @Ffojt it works on the exact same principles as a normal speaker dude coil becomes electromagnet with curent affected by permanant magnet ascillates at frequency that causes pressure in air to form soundwaves

  • dude u pribaly like 21 in ur grandmas basement u no ur a lame fuck right atlest go beat ur mean
