Or how about any of their instrumental songs, which, at the end, have a passage from the bible?... I'll tell you, they don't claim to worship either God or the Devil, but given their music, I think it's pretty obvious which way they're leaning.

@DemonicCollusion I understand what you're saying, but I must disagree with you. I know that this is a long forgotten conversation but I just had the urge to speak my mind on this matter. I, personally enjoy metal & even more so when I hear praise through it. Metal is all about expressing yourself. That's why they scream in the first place. Now, when I think of praising my God, I want to just scream out his love for me. I believe that the Holy Spirit can use Christian Metal as a tool of praise.
Certainly we have different views and understandings, and I have to say that I stick by what I've said. Particularly my comment about the screaming being used to portray a sense of horror and torment. I think the best way I'd put it now would be like using Swastikas to portray your love of Judaism.
Not saying it necessarily can't be done; just that it's kinda counter productive. haha In any case, I understand what you're saying, but like yourself, I can't agree with the position.

I believe that the screaming is more of an attempt to grab the attention of all those who enjoy hearing metal, such as myself. If you wouldn't mind, I think you should check out the bands Demon Hunter, For Today & Sleeping Giant. All three bands are extremely strong in their walk with Christ & have strengthened my faith through their lyrical content. =D

Your comments really don't sense - you can't even punctuate your sentences. I've had this conversation several times over, I don't need it again, with you. I'm not uncomfortable with it at all, I listen to all types of music, from Jazz to Black Metal. Music, with or without lyrics, tells us a story. Metal, particularly this type, is like the "horror" genre of music, as the screams and growls portray horror and torment in the singer, the unrelenting drums are anger, etc.
Art is only art if the audience reacts, and the kind of art (Majestic to Macabre) is determined by that reaction. So, if you see a piece w/o a description, you don't know what the artist felt, etc. You can only use your intuition and recollection of similar pieces to guide you in determining the artist's intention.
Further, I don't listen to this. People like who think they have something further to contribute to the conversation keep replying to my posts.

Music is art and all art is percieved differently by diffirent people. Saying that this is the universal sound of horror and torment to every person who hears it is crazy! At 1:50, I got all into it. What a catchy little tune. I liked it. Reminds me of a story being told with a background song, that's all metal.

@DemonicCollusion I understand what you're saying, but I must disagree with you. I know that this is a long forgotten conversation but I just had the urge to speak my mind on this matter. I, personally enjoy metal & even more so when I hear praise through it. Metal is all about expressing yourself. That's why they scream in the first place. Now, when I think of praising my God, I want to just scream out his love for me. I believe that the Holy Spirit can use Christian Metal as a tool of praise.

Certainly we have different views and understandings, and I have to say that I stick by what I've said. Particularly my comment about the screaming being used to portray a sense of horror and torment. I think the best way I'd put it now would be like using Swastikas to portray your love of Judaism.
Not saying it necessarily can't be done; just that it's kinda counter productive. haha In any case, I understand what you're saying, but like yourself, I can't agree with the position.

@DemonicCollusion Very well said. I suppose that the screaming could be used to portray horror, but I honestly don't think that is their goal. I believe that the screaming is more of an attempt to grab the attention of all those who enjoy hearing metal, such as myself. If you wouldn't mind, I think you should check out the bands Demon Hunter, For Today & Sleeping Giant. All three bands are extremely strong in their walk with Christ & have strengthened my faith through their lyrical content. =D

@DemonicCollusion your coments arnt making any sence hos does the sound its self potray anything satanic the sound is taken how it is percieved, if you feel uncomfortable listening to the screaming and such thats probobly because its just to agresive for your taste not because its demonic. The lyrics and motives behind the musicians are what cause the perversions and satanic messeges. not the music itself. If you have such a problem with it then why are you listening to it.

Your comments really don't sense - you can't even punctuate your sentences. I've had this conversation several times over, I don't need it again, with you. I'm not uncomfortable with it at all, I listen to all types of music, from Jazz to Black Metal. Music, with or without lyrics, tells us a story. Metal, particularly this type, is like the "horror" genre of music, as the screams and growls portray horror and torment in the singer, the unrelenting drums are anger, etc.

Art is only art if the audience reacts, and the kind of art (Majestic to Macabre) is determined by that reaction. So, if you see a piece w/o a description, you don't know what the artist felt, etc. You can only use your intuition and recollection of similar pieces to guide you in determining the artist's intention.
Further, I don't listen to this. People like who think they have something further to contribute to the conversation keep replying to my posts.

@DemonicCollusion And that is your perception of it, that was my point! to me it just makes things agressive and heavy. Sure sounds in music can potray emotions and such. Music is art and all art is percieved differently by diffirent people. Saying that this is the universal sound of horror and torment to every person who hears it is crazy! Sure the art is percieved by you that way, but it isnt by everyone else. you can think that. But i dont, so dont force your idea on everyone.
