  • is it just me or does this vid give goosebumps xD totally amazing

  • It's so beautiful!!! ♥

  • Everything was going fine and dandy until my heart was blown up by the 55 losers who disliked this vid.

  • The segment beginning around 5:50 or so.. What named would that track be on the soundtrack?

  • @Catalyst3o1 Ashitaka sekki from Mononoke

  • this song is magical!!

  • How do one man make all this happiness? Seriously, it's like listening to a dream.

  • @CgirlDK how do people don't know basic grammar.

  • @89Valkyrie I don't understand... what did I do/spell wrong?

Please tell me, since english isn't my birth language, but I'd like to improve it :)

  • @CgirlDK "Do" is plural, but you used "man" as the subject, which is singular. It should have been "does". I'm not sure why that person got ticked off about it, it's not such a bad error.

Anyway, it may sound a bit mechanical, but as an aspiring musician myself, I think Mr. Hisaishi probably just learned to compose through hard work and no small amount of talent. The result is nothing short of stunning.

(The harp needs more parts, though....)

  • @Stelarinna Oh! (Face palm.)

Of course! It's one of the mistakes I keep making, even though I know it's not right. Thanks for telling me :D

About Mr. Hisashi and his talent, I think you're right. I still think he's a bit of a genius, but there's no doubt, he worked hard to become this good. :)

  • ASIANS<3

  • does the chorus even have a part in this piece?... i never heard them thru out the video... or am i just crazy o.O

I think.

  • This suite reminds me of everything I won and lost in life. It simply makes everything in my life easier to accept and every human being I encountered an object of love. If only more people would truly understand the real emotions such a suite can trigger, our world would be a much better place. We have so much to share and learn from each other; a lot more than we have to fight over... If only more people would understand... If...

  • 55 dislikes!!??... are you felling ok!!!!!????

  • Cymbal crash at 1:50 just adds so much. It releases the tension that was building up until that point, truly amazing. This piece is just breathtaking!

  • @PeterPianoXiong It was mentioned in a documentary of the creation of the movie that they really struggled at that exact point in the score to add just the right emotional touch. It took many tries, until they came up with perfect the buildup and release. I'm glad they kept at it!

  • WOW Absolutely amazing

  • wow....didnt think it would but it gets me every time.....i guess that's when u know you're listening to a masterpiece

  • @jdodds99 Indeed my friend... Indeed! :)

  • The only way to make this "suite" better would be to play "Ashitaka and San".

  • I would give a million clap to this mavelous composer..Big Props

  • I love all of Mr Hisaishis music, but I'll have to say Mononoke Himes theme is one of his best compositions. The beauty of it, especially with Hisaishi-san at the piano and the fantastic violinist. This is music

  • @basisti94 same!

  • @Miwa493 we do! come on there are great movie soundtracks out there in america

  • @hobbes203

Not as beautiful as this =/....most movies today will use some type of R&B or rap song for there theme...So far the only thing i find that have good sound tracks are video games.

  • @Miwa493 Han Zimmers, Harry Gregson-Williams and Two Steps from Hell had done a lot of good music for for movies.

  • @Miwa493 Check out Lord of The Rings soundtrack by Howard Shore. Its nearly as good as Joe Hisaishi's work

  • @basisti94

  • @MrCoffeeandchocolate Lol!! I have to say good luck to you =D

  • FUCKING GENIUSSSSS

  • I love watching Conductors get into their music.

  • Such beauty! SUCH MAGNIFICENCE! SUCH TEAR BRINGING AWESOMENESS!!!!..why doesn't american have this kind of music? :(...why can't we have such beautiful music like this? >.<.

  • @Miwa493 We do, it's not common knowledge, privy to the band and orchestral nerds of the US. David Holzinger, Claude T. Smith, Robert Smith, David R. Gillingham, all of them are brilliant composers, and there are many more. I would know, I've gotten to play more than a few of their pieces. (I've played french horn for nine years.) It's not that it doesn't exist, it's that it's not a part of "popular culture".

  • @EvaraSilvaen

O: ...I got to check them out, thanks :)...Do you know any composers who create music like this? in the US

  • @Miwa493 Well, "this" is movie music, and I have to say, I love me some Danny Elfman. I'm not exactly sure if he hails from the US or not, but I'll go ahead and assume. And of the list I rattled off above, Gillingham is probably the closest to what you're looking for. His web site has full recordings of many of his works. I recommend "With Heart and Voice"

  • @EvaraSilvaen

Ohh thanks :D, and I checked out the other musicians you listed...They have very nice pieces O:

  • @Miwa493 True that. I have a paper to write about any concert I attend and I'm looking through all these concerts, but none with this type of nostalgic music. Oh and -Bach/Mozart/any others like em- classical music is just so boring and uninteresting. I wouldn't mind paying if he came to Chicago. ;D

  • @tey565

We should all email him asking for a request for him to fly to America and do a tour :DD. I would pay to go every one of his concert...kind like a stalker o.o..

  • @tey565 You obviously haven't had the luxury of hearing Mozart's Horn Concertos. (Although I might be biased XD )

Especially the 4th Concerto in E flat major. Now that is one wild ride. :D

  • @Miwa493 because there is only 1 Joe Hisaishi

  • @Miwa493

We do, you just have to dig deeper. The Halo soundtracks are full of beautiful music, and so do the Fable and The Elder Scrolls series. There isn't anybody in America that plays this specific style like this though. The Japanese tend to have a much better sense of powerful melodies than any other culture.

  • @Miwa493 We do......

  • @Miwa493 True we don't have anybody like Mozart or Beethoven in America, but we should be grateful for what we have, especially for their work on films like

    - Alan Silverstri (Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump, Cast Away)

    - Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Wall-E)

    - James Horner (Apollo 13, Braveheart, Titanic, Avatar)

    - Howard Shore (LOTR trilogy, Silence of the Lambs, Mrs. Doubtfire)

    - Jerry Goldsmith (Alien, Rudy, The Edge)

  • @jsteffey88

I am grateful O: ,sorry if my comment make it seem like I'm not...But it just seems like we are missing something in our music now a days, something that can actually bring someone to tears, or make there heart ache. (in my opinion that is)

  • @Miwa493 I honestly don't know what's missing in our music these days, other than meaningful lyrics, but as far as musical scores in movies, James Horner and Howard Shore (I swear) have to be the 21st century Mozart or Beethoven. I mean the Titanic score - Epic and a real tear-jerker. LOTR - No comments, other than it's *that* good. As for Joe Hisaishi, I love his work, especially in Princess Mononoke. I couldn't agree more.

  • @jsteffey88 Don't forget Hanz Zimmer, who is a brilliant composer in his own right. Bringing life to Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, all brilliant music!

  • @BrotherHugo500 Yes, Hans Zimmer is a great musical score artist. Although I didn't care for Gladiator, I think his greatest work done so far was The Lion King and The Dark Knight.

  • @jsteffey88 I didn't realize he did the score for The Lion King. That's truly beautiful. The thing i would say about Zimmer is that he really captures the cultural feel of each movie he writes for. It feels perfect for the movie, whether or not you personally like it.

  • @Miwa493 So that everything isn't always about the US... No offense to your country, but diversity is what make this world more beautiful.
