I don't even get why the nurses were in anything past Silent Hill 2. Wasn't part of Silent Hill's horror a bit of the protagonist's own neuroticism? Everything had a sexual feminine form in SH2 because James had gone years without sex taking care of his dying wife. The only masculine thing was Pyramid Head, who tried to force sex on everything twisted and feminine, reflecting James' sexual frustration.

Why this woman would see James Sunderland's Silent Hill is a mystery to me.

@jmerridew124 Like the dog, the nurse is kind of a Silent Hill staple so you'll see them in some form throughout the series, beginning with the first game, though this "dark nurse" style started in the second game. But as for Pyramid Head--who is an integral part of the plot in the game--he is just fan appreciation in the movie. Another one is Andy the mechanic in homage to Eddie from SH2. They hold no purpose other than to grace fans of the games with their appearance.
