depends on what type of paintball you play, either woodsball or speedball, because i wouldnt reccommend going woodsballing with a luxe and visa versa... also the most expensive tippmann is around $350, the luxeis $1500 and personally im not a fan of luxe's... i'd rather a PMR 09 over the luxe anyday

cmon guys... stop hatin on the ion. It is a DESCENT gun for weekend play and just fooling around. It can be a OK gun with a few 'upgrades' such as a clamping feedneck and a new "14 barrel. But, let me tell you this. if you are a serious player and want more that a DESCENT gun. Save your money and get a dm9 , etek2, or even a vice or ego! So, to all you ion haters, know this. The gun dose not make the player, the player makes the gun.

first off.... i have shot Ions.... my friend has one... has 'upgrades'...... but still... it isn't a good gun..... I have a Macdev Droid..... and used to have a AKA Viking... I KNOW what good guns are.... and an ION is definately not.... On my guns... here is how many parts I needed to replace.... ZERO!!!! because my gun was good... and "upgrades" were also minimal... being only the gold bolt on the Droid... which isn't needed... but I like to shoot a little more paint off a fill... so Shut UP!!

i have a ion XE right now. the gun needs some upgrades to it. straight off the bat u need a new feedneck and recommend getting a QEV (360 QEV is cheap and nice. around $20) look into other guns too. there are alot of nice guns out there.

not too much, with the stock barrelit might cho 1 or two. It has anti-chop eyes built on it so it wont, they really work. Though i would go get another smartparts barrel like th Freak barrel, it'll help with accuracy. But no it doesnt chop.

if you have the money, get something a little nicer. but if you don't, this gun works for you. thats what i did i barely had enough for the ion and over time as i did a few more odd jobs here and there i would have some cash to get new parts for it. but thats beside the point. the stock board on the ion sucks major balls. if you get it, you're gonna want to get an aftermarket board. the blackheart isn't aftermarket btw.

Dude I had to take mine to Orlando Paintball and they had to use one of those big wrench things that you use to cut a lock and they destroyed it so they gave me a clamping feed neck for free even though i already had 1 coming in the mail. But get a clamping feed neck or your hopper will not stay on at all it will fall right off an when you have a Dye Rotor you don't want that to happen.

Minis are very quirky some of them are amazing but some are terrible. It's really like the luck of the draw I mean they are all the same but some just shoot terrible while some shoot amazing. Also it is Empire's first gun (Invert is a brand of Empire) so it has some flaws. The mini also breaks all the time. I have an Ion Xe and it is amazing. Its so easy to clean with the bolt out back, its efficient, and you can get a lot of upgrades. If you get the Ion Xe make sure to get a clamping feed neck.

ok about the xe. first its relly not that differnt form the stock ion or dynasty ion, their kinda all the same. 17bps but dont trust smart parts with anything because they are the worst compony in the paintball industry. and once u get the gun going the shoots like to skip alot for the ions. so u really only get 15bps most of the time. so when u go to a turny and turn in down to 13.33 get in a fight with the owner there that u have an ion so u can bump it up!
