What kind of book covering material is that? I used to cover books in my high school library using the same method and I'd like to cover my college textbooks the same way.
I've found the hardback mylar covers but I can't find the paperback removable covers. : (

Think they're called adhesive plastic covers. :) You can find them in stationary stores.
