The Magician Bill Bixby Music Video #1 "Version 008" Garbage

I just got into the series about a month ago and I love it and this video was nicely done. 5 stars and two thumbs way, way up! I must say this video finally gave me a song idea and inspired me to make a video. I said it in the description of my video but I'll say it again, thank you SamHillFilms :)

Was quite a good looking guy, cute, and very sexy. I never saw this show, but loved the others' he was in. He was great in more serious roles AND incredibly funny in funny roles. 'My Favorite Martian' was my fav show as a kid. It's a classic. Right up there with 'I Love Lucy' in quality and humour, etc. IMO. Don't know if it ever got that same respect. The MFM show was canceled too soon, due to lack of funds or something like that. What a shame.

I am going through a "gotta have everything Bixby"phase right now and am so glad to see pieces of his "Magician" series here.

I am too young to remember the show, as I was only about 3 or 4 years old when it originally aired, but it intrigues me immensely! I think your video is great, and the song choice is just perfect with the clips! Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey, how in SamHill did I miss this? WOW..I was so sure I commented and I guess I didn't. :O I love this song and you did a great job on the video! It totally fits the spy aspect of the series, which, aside from the magic and sleight of hand, played heavily into it. Great ending with all the quick clips too. And thanks for letting me know about the pilot with the notes. I'll try and catch that soon.

@Voyagersguidebook PS: thanks for noticing the ending & for your compliment. I thought I was going to go insane trying to figure out how to match the rapid music to images. Finding the right 2 second clips & make them fit with the music & trim them exactly & make them flow with previous (bird/Mark Wilson) was challenging to the max, to say the least!

Great vid. I loved this show. Bill did all of his own effects, tutored by Mark Wilson. The shame of it was Paramount was interested in bringing the show back with Bill in the lead, but he died before it was a done deal.

Really? Are you sure you're not confusing this with "The Incredible Hulk"? I heard that they meant to resucite Dr. Banner after his "death" movie. I've always loved Bill Bixby, specially in this show. What a classy and kind and generous person he was. It's a shame he is not among us. We could have enjoyed many more of his talent. I am also looking for DVD set. There are a few places on line offering the DVD set, however I did not find the sites trustworthy. I will post when I find a trusted reatailer.

I bought the set from an eBay seller. He advertised it as a home-VHS copied from broadcast. So it was kinda grainy, but the sound was good and they all had the Sci-fi logo. I got what I expected and was happy with the bid. Definately brought back good memories. Of course if a proffesionally produced DVD set ever came out I would buy that!

Well done you, great vid. Never saw Bix as a Bond guy, but yep, wouldn't he have been a good un! The Magician was such a great show, but like all good things, (Bix included) they leave us too soon!

Sam, I LOVE the full-length version (of course)!!!! And I am soooo soooo happy that you're honoring Bill Bixby like this! My fave parts are when Bix is in the Corvette, that is so cool, and it seems those shots only last a millisecond in the show. I love the song choice, everything. Yes, I agree that more magic tricks would also be nice. BTW, massive kudos for the 100+ hrs you spend editing, I know it's a labor of love. :)

Fantastic job! This really captured the essense of why that was such a great show. My only suggestion would be to show a bit more of him actually doing magic to explain the theme of the show, but that's really a minor quibble. Really superb video.

AA, you're absolutely right in your critique. When this 'movie' was taking shape so to speak, I realized there was no magic at all! I went back and added the 2 bits. somehow found it hard to fit magic because most of the clips are just a couple seconds. I'll see what I can do with video #5... Can I just say that my admiration of Bill Bixby went up 100 degrees...oh wait..that was my temperature with this video!!..this made my morning. FANTASTIC song choice and clips!!! WOOOHH!!!! I'm so excited..this series is coming in the mail! Don't apologize for the lack of Hulk outs!!! I can't believe you edited by hand. It was great.
