I would just like to know why anyone cares. I would also like to know why every day we have other people's religions forced on us. I'd like to know why I'm constantly asked, "What if you're wrong?" when I say I don't believe there IS a God, Jesus, or anything of the sort. It works both ways ... What if you're wrong?

But just like women, kids, new members and non members, they couldn't hold the priesthood until it was revealed. Why? Dunno. Ask God. It was his decision.
I love this video. I have also come up with a very simple way to describe our beliefs we are "Restoration Christians". Of course there are the Catholics who claim to be the original church, the Protestants or "Protestant Christians"(where my grandparents came from) who broke up from the Catholic Church and of course the "Restoration Christians" or the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the only church I know of that even claims to be the gospel of Jesus Christ restored.

@qarohc You're missing the whole point of the analogy. The only reason that you know air exists is because scientists have told you. Just because you can't see it, doesn't make it non existent. Likewise, just because you haven't seen, heard or felt God, doesn't mean that He exists.

You can interact with the air, adding to it's content or even changing it's state depending on what makes it up (rain for instance derives from water that accumulates in air). Your survival depends on oxygen gas that you breathe into your body. Asserting that the only reason we know air exists is because we've been told that it does is just wrong.

WHY IM MORMON, I love that you are doing this. I myself am a convert from the Catholic church and I actually researched a lot of other churches when I decided Catholicism wasnt for me. I went to the Baptist, Evangelist, and a few pre-dominational spots that taught great doctrine but I felt like none of them were for me. Its funny because throughout all of this the missionaries from the mormon church would visit me occasionally but I wanted nothing to do with them. Long story short, I am mormon.
Conversion story continued...Like I was saying...I didnt want anything to do with the Mormon church because I assumed the Book of Mormon was a contradiction to the Bible and its sad but that is the MOST COMMON PERCEPTION. I now know that Bible and the Book of Mormon support each other. They, together, are one. I joined the church because WHEN I FINALLY OPENED MY HEART TO ASK...WHAT IS THE BOOK OF MORMON?? The missionary who taught me taught me that it was another Testament of Jesus christ....

And that Christ visited the Americas after his resurrection...so the sister missionary, which is a great friend of mine today, taught me the basics of the Book of Mormon and then she looked at me and said "Johnny, I dont want you to believe a word I just said.....I want you to read the Book and I want you to pray about it....and I KNOW that God will show you if this Book is true or not, if this is His word or not, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit"..She was right. Researching it is good, but I don't know what good praying does. There are Billions of people who have "faith" in one God or another, and they ALL claim to belong to the one true church. We are not to judge who is going to heaven. We do not teach that everyone without the true gospel in this life will go to hell. Instead, we preach that the true gospel will also be taught in the spirit world which makes it possible for all men to receive salvation. What does your church have to say about those who never had the chance to hear the gospel of christ ? Are they condem to hell?

I am a Jew from Israel. I can go all over my country and see archeological remains from cities and events in the bible. Many of these places have the same name and location since ancient times. I live in Jerusalem, I can go to a museum and see the artifacts from the ancient wars that the Jewish people fought. I don't think that Mormons can say the same thing.

Yes we can ( Obama), although we don't have that many as compared to the bible which has been around for over 2000 years. The book of Mormon; only 190 years. The most concrete evidence ever found is the city of Nahom found in the Arabian peninsula. Youtube it and you will see a documentary. Second, the most obviouse authenticity is to read the book and study the hebrew words in it since you speak that language. Look up all the ancient names of the book of mormon prophets like Alma, lehi and etc

Two things to remember here-God would never allow His prophet to lead us astray, and a prophet is a prophet only when he acts as such. Meaning he can have his own opinion and not be speaking God's will.

Any examples? The Book of Mormon was written by His prophets, and then translated by one. The Doctrine and Covenants are all full of prophecies and revelation. And the Pearl of Great Price is part revelation, part translation. All of that is considered scripture by us and and was revealed through a prophet of god.

Wow, interesting theories. Plenty of prophecies came true. The Saints went to the Salt Lake Valley. Joseph's name would be known for good and bad. The Civil War happened. Look em up.
The only word of God is the Bible, not book of mormon. Galatians 1:8-9 says:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
That would work if we didn't teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But! We teach it. We learn of it, and teach it out of the Bible, as well as other scriptures revealed through God's prophets.
So, thanks for trying, but we aren't teaching another gospel. It's the same as Christ taught.
Besides that, have you seen the LDS Church be cursed or condemned? If we were teaching otherwise, surely this prophecy would be fulfilled on our heads, and it hasn't.
Where does it say that God can't add to the word of God?
Christianity was formed way back when. Christ's Church was formed and led by apostles. Who are their descendants? Where is Christ's Church? We teach that there was a Great Apostasy where all truth was lost due to wickedness. That's why there was a Restoration of Christ's true Church in 1830.
God did not add to the word of God, the word of God is complete as it is already. No need to add anything different. The Bible is the word of God.

I would just like to know why anyone cares. I would also like to know why every day we have other people's religions forced on us. I'd like to know why I'm constantly asked, "What if you're wrong?" when I say I don't believe there IS a God, Jesus, or anything of the sort. It works both ways ... What if you're wrong?

I love this video. I have also come up with a very simple way to describe our beliefs we are "Restoration Christians". Of course there are the Catholics who claim to be the original church, the Protestants or "Protestant Christians"(where my grandparents came from) who broke up from the Catholic Church and of course the "Restoration Christians" or the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the only church I know of that even claims to be the gospel of Jesus Christ restored.

If you have an original document, Simkins recommended making copies -- digital or otherwise -- and sharing the copies before letting everyone handle the original. He noted that the LDS Church History Library accepts journal donations.
"Share the original cautiously. Maybe it's a good opportunity to explain the anatomy of a book to the grandkids," he said. "Then tuck the original away where it is safe and share copies."

You can interact with the air, adding to it's content or even changing it's state depending on what makes it up (rain for instance derives from water that accumulates in air). Your survival depends on oxygen gas that you breathe into your body. Asserting that the only reason we know air exists is because we've been told that it does is just wrong.

I went to the Baptist, Evangelist, and a few pre-dominational spots that taught great doctrine but I felt like none of them were for me. Its funny because throughout all of this the missionaries from the mormon church would visit me occasionally but I wanted nothing to do with them. Long story short, I am mormon.

Researching it is good, but I don't know what good praying does. There are Billions of people who have "faith" in one God or another, and they ALL claim to belong to the one true church. To accept Mormonism means you also believe the other churches aren't true. But believers of other religions don't accept the tenets of Mormonism. I believe you're all right ... We are not to judge who is going to heaven. We do not teach that everyone without the true gospel in this life will go to hell. Instead, we preach that the true gospel will also be taught in the spirit world which makes it possible for all men to receive salvation. What does your church have to say about those who never had the chance to hear the gospel of christ ? Are they condem to hell?

The Bible, that reveals that God is loving, & that he is also HOLY & JUST.Because He is loving, He is just. & because He is just, adulterers, murderers, thieves, liars, idolaters, etc.must be punished.Think of a judge down here at the local court that let rapists, child molesters, drug dealers, &thieves go.That would be an unloving act against humanity wouldn't it? It would be unloving for God to let sinners go on into eternity with no ramifications for the evil things they did in this life.

I am a Jew from Israel. I can go all over my country and see archeological remains from cities and events in the bible. Many of these places have the same name and location since ancient times. I live in Jerusalem, I can go to a museum and see the artifacts from the ancient wars that the Jewish people fought. I don't think that Mormons can say the same thing.

Yes we can ( Obama), although we don't have that many as compared to the bible which has been around for over 2000 years. The book of Mormon; only 190 years. The most concrete evidence ever found is the city of Nahom found in the Arabian peninsula. Youtube it and you will see a documentary. Second, the most obviouse authenticity is to read the book and study the hebrew words in it since you speak that language. Look up all the ancient names of the book of mormon prophets like Alma, lehi and etc

ummm no, theres no part where he says everyone else is wrong. He is just stating what he believes is right and wont tell them what to believe and he'll try to accept it and that second part look outside... are you aware there was a guy who isn't any particular religion who went and studied ALOT of different christian religions for about a year, and out of every single christian church he studied, he believed that the mormons are the most correct and later he joined them.

Two things to remember here-God would never allow His prophet to lead us astray, and a prophet is a prophet only when he acts as such. Meaning he can have his own opinion and not be speaking God's will.
Oh and what were other people saying about blacks back then? I bet it wasn't sunshine and lollipops about them.

Any examples? The Book of Mormon was written by His prophets, and then translated by one. The Doctrine and Covenants are all full of prophecies and revelation. And the Pearl of Great Price is part revelation, part translation. All of that is considered scripture by us and and was revealed through a prophet of god.

The only word of God is the Bible, not book of mormon. Galatians 1:8-9 says:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

That would work if we didn't teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But! We teach it. We learn of it, and teach it out of the Bible, as well as other scriptures revealed through God's prophets.
So, thanks for trying, but we aren't teaching another gospel. It's the same as Christ taught.
Besides that, have you seen the LDS Church be cursed or condemned? If we were teaching otherwise, surely this prophecy would be fulfilled on our heads, and it hasn't.

Christianity was formed way back when. Christ's Church was formed and led by apostles. Who are their descendants? Where is Christ's Church? We teach that there was a Great Apostasy where all truth was lost due to wickedness. That's why there was a Restoration of Christ's true Church in 1830.

God did not add to the word of God, the word of God is complete as it is already. No need to add anything different. The Bible is the word of God.
