It doesn't apply to them and you do not alwayas have to consult the UN to go to war, doing so would destroy the their sovereignty and it makes it ok for the UN to tell what other nations are supposed to do. As an American, I have always wanted to visit Australia and learn more about what seems like an interesting country. However, when I was living in Japan, I encountered some Australians who were so anti-american and vocalized it so much that it made my skin crawl. I have not encountered that same type of thing from Brits, Canadians or Kiwis. It left a bad taste in my mouth for Australia. I hope that if I do visit there some day that I get to meet people of a higher caliber than what I encountered

I am a Filipino and I along with many other Pinoys (82% according to BBC) like the Americans. I have family in the USA and unlike the Aussies, we appreciate everything the USA has done for us and invented.

As an American, I have always wanted to visit Australia and learn more about what seems like an interesting country. However, when I was living in Japan, I encountered some Australians who were so anti-american and vocalized it so much that it made my skin crawl. I have not encountered that same type of thing from Brits, Canadians or Kiwis. It left a bad taste in my mouth for Australia. I hope that if I do visit there some day that I get to meet people of a higher caliber than what I encountered

We dont have enough fresh water supplies or enough arable land to grow food to support a big population. And a big population is what is required to attain world power. Sure we could become an economic superpower because of our massive mineral deposits but apart from that we will never reach superpower status like the USA has. @JakeEnevoldsen Have you ever actually been here before? I met a small group of really awesome canadian tourists over here who said Australia is completely superior to the US. After all most health care services are free and quality of food, water , infrastructure , education , etc etc is HEAPS BETTER . ya know america has to spend 2.5 trillion US dollars just to upgrade its infrastructure alone. We are the 2nd most developed country in the world after norway and US is like 15th

@Superstrat1990 Well, I meant that I don't think America is the 'second best country after Australia'. I think it would be a great place to visit and all, but I love Australia to bits. I'm not basing everything on how epic a country is, merely on it's culture. I think Australia has lots of culture, but sometimes we adapt Americanised culture. (Well, most of the world does.) In my honest opinion, If I had enough money (And after HSC) I would love to move to India. I have a love fest for India! (:

@Superstrat1990 Australia is nice country I live in wales but have lived in Australia and gone to school in both Australia and wales , I would have thought Australia would have had a better education system than wales but was shocked when I went to school there the infrastructure and facilities are better but the standard of education was low

In reality, people who best explain and criticize what is wrong with the US, also happen to love it as a nation and a subject for study. Then you can find the paranoid shit-head conspiracy theorists that churn out pamphlets on busy NYC streets....
Its such a shame that young Aussies and academics find more camaraderie with the latter.

Australia owes no debt to america for world war 2 because Australians also died in world war 2 fighting against japan. It's not like Australians just sat at home and America did all the heavy labor.
