Wow guys you bring tears to my eyes you sound freeking awesome id love to have you guys play at my wedding would make it absolutly perfect god bless guys dont stop and aim high you really are wonderful xx
You are an excellent guitarist. I saw John Doyle play in New York last week and you've really got that simliar approach. Totally brings the tunes to life.
When I heard, "Yeah but it's weird," I thought, "Hey she sounds like me". I haven't heard anyone over here sound that close to my accent. Go figure. We're both from Victoria. hahaha.
Yeah, I'm aware that Irish tunes go by different names, just wasn't sure if you knew that the "Old Favorite" was also called the Kilfenora. I'm a trad. Irish musician as well.
We know it (and have recorded it on our CD, "Relative Minors" - track 7) as "Old Favorite". The interesting thing about many fiddle tunes is that they are known by different names in various parts...
The second tune is The Roaring Barmaid, the last is Out on the Ocean.
The first tune is also called the "Kilfenora Jig." You should try to look up a version by Martin Hayes and one by Caoimhin O Raghallaigh. Meh, I recorded that one with my friends but I lost the recording :(
