How to Install iOS 5 for FREE! iTunes - iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, iPod Touch 4G & 3G

Um, last i checked, ANY ios for your device is already FREE. The only thing you'll spend money on is the device, the computer to sync it with, and internet.

so like K03dUr1p0dplz 's comment under uploader comments, what do you mean sign in the same Apple ID? where do you sign in, the appstore? And then do you have to find ALL the apps you bought and then re-download them?

Ok so everyone asking me if iOS 5 works on an 8gb 3rd gen iPod Touch, it doesn't. The 3rd gen 8gb iPod Touch is technically a 2nd generation. I really dont know why Apple has to be so stupid with that, but thats just the way it is. No matter how many times you try, iOS 5 will never work on 8gb 3rd gen iPod Touches.

PLEASE RESPOND, but I just downloaded IOS 5 to my iPod touch 4G just now, and my apps are gone, aswell as my music. I am currently in a non Wi-Fi place, but i'm pretty sure that I need Wi-Fi to get my apps back...

I plugged in my iPhone 3gs(16gb) into my computer went to iTunes and where my name is and everything, it says "check for updates" not "update". I updated to iOS 4.2.1 last night, I don't know if that could have effected it but it won't let me update to iOS 5. I also have iTunes 10.5

I updated my itunes and when i plug i my ipod touhch 3g (32gb) it says that ios5 is availble. so I downloaded ios5 and when i wanna install it itunes makes a recover file from my ipod touch. but when it is bussy with doing that the bart that says how far you are in the instalation stuks ;(

The 8GB iTouch 3G is the same as the iTouch 2G and has been left out of the iOS 5. Only the 32 and 64GB iTouch 3G's are able to be updated.

@rdrftw17 Apple consider the 8gb 3rd gen iPod Touch a 2nd gen.... The 32 gb and 64gb 3rd gen are the only ones that can get this update. Hope this helped :-)
