  • As a Humanist, who loves Science, being an Atheist can not be a something he has come to as a result of science but rather a belief system. He cant with 100% confidence say that there is no God, not even Dawkins says this.

  • @shariotoflove

Nobody can say 100% there is no tooth fairy either .. hehe

  • @kkdkk7 Well we can be more certain about the tooth fairy not existing than God, since the parameters for a tooth fairy to exist is possible to observe, since it would be only interested teeth. However you can not observe the entire Universe and beyond to say with 100% certainty that God doesnt exist. This is the scientific way.

  • @shariotoflove

Well, in the end , whether with tooth fairy or with biblical god, u r still not proving them the scientific way. There is no certainty that comes close to anything observable with consistency like gravity or the prehistoric existence of dinosaurs.

  • @kkdkk7 yes, but you cant say that it doesnt exist either and use science as your justification. it's still a belief.

  • @shariotoflove

Well, I establish believablity the scientific way, u can base yours on religion, to each their own.

You're quite welcomed to come over to enjoy some of the fruits of scientific discoveries .. but please be polite and grateful when u do so ..

  • @kkdkk7 im sorry but there is nothing scientific about what you say. how can you claim to know something which you havent even fully observed. total hypocrite.

  • @shariotoflove

It worries me when someone believes based on flimsy thinking and fallacious mindsets, saying things like " He cant with 100% confidence say that there is no God, not even Dawkins says this."

  • @kkdkk7 its not fallacious since it is going by the practice of Science. you can not say for certain something doesnt exist which you can not observe. That's called ignorance. So it worries me more that so called science lovers dont get this. Atheism is a belief system just as is Christianity et al.

  • @shariotoflove

Atheism is not a DOCTRINAL belief, Christianity is.

  • @kkdkk7 okay, are you done tap dancing? theyre both belief systems, different in dynamics yes, but still belief systems. end of discussion.

  • It's weird. I had a massively negative view of this guy because of his views on copyright, but this sort of makes me like him a bit. I am confused...

  • @Shkuip

    That's absolutely nonsensical.

  • @Shkuip Pray to your rock to give you knowdlege, skills and experience. I for one believe in hard work, not wishful delusions.

  • "Drabbades" av den ateistiska övertygelsen.

  • My God has a hammer, your savior was nailed to a cross. Get the picture?!

  • du avisar gud för att du är bög

  • @lastchancewarior du är en ignorant homofob för att du tror på gud

  • @Laraischibi En mycket vacker kontring. ^-^ - Respekt. :3

  • @lastchancewarior hahaha

  • @DrChuckBMD The doctor is permanently out. God closed his account.

  • @ShadowReubenKee e du beng lr

  • Bravo Bjorn.Thank you for the music AND the rationality.

  • "they donot believe in god, but [...]"

Which god? Are you saying that when a person from a Hindu background is dying and s/he turns to the superstitions s/he was raised in out of desperation, that somehow makes the belief in the existence of her/his god(s) more likely? Come on.

    And it's 'Björn'.

  • @quackduckduckful That's really fucking distasteful, belieive in me or burn in eternal agony -.-

  • @quackduckduckful it's easy to get scared when you die. it does not prove the existence of anything. if a person had been raised with the notion of the spaghetti monster instead of god, it would be the monster they would turn to in their last moments. it's just human to be ultimately afraid. nothing is rational about dying. you should take into account what they say when they are alive and sufficiently conscious to reason.

  • @quackduckduckful bijourn????

  • @quackduckduckful Ye ye.. Pace yourself Nurse Ratched. I fuck your god in the ass. FUCK your god.

  • @quackduckduckful If true what would it prove? People who are drowning call for their mother - even though she may be dead or miles away and unable to help. We say all kinds of things when we're desparate. As a matter of fact, most of these so called death bed conversions are probably lies spread by believers - like the notorious, and completely untrue, conversion of Charles Darwin. Darwin's family exposed it as a lie within days of its appearance but the story still gets repeated.

  • @mikelheron20 "As a matter of fact, most of these so called death bed conversions are probably lies spread by believers" Exactly right. This has a long history. Christians won't hesitate to lie about deathbed conversions, and everyone just nods their heads and accepts the lies on face-value. This was done Carl Sagan and more recently, Christopher Hitchens. Lies in both cases.

  • @DandAinTac Absolutely. It says something about the moral character of some Christians that they are willing to lie about such matters. I heard one Christian defend the Darwin lie on the basis that even if untrue it sent a better message to mankind than the truth that Darwin remained true to his convictions. AJ Ayer is supposed to have had "out of body" experiences at the end of his life. Some Christians chose to interpret them, studidly and unreasonably, as death-bed conversion.

  • @quackduckduckful people also cry out his name during sex

  • The resurrection of ABBA in heaven one day will not have Bjorn in attendance. lol

  • Bravo Björn.....

  • This man has a very firm opinion that the spread of religion, in western societies will pose a threat to those societies, yet he cannot point, substantively, to one single danger, in particular.

  • Isn't it ironic that the decendants of vikkings are now the worlds leaders in a peaceful and logical society?. The Swedes and other Scandinavian societies are lightyears ahead of America in so many ways. The only thing that I don't understand about them is the shit they put up with in regard to Middle Eastern immagrants in their countries. The Scandinavians extend their hands in peace and compassion to the middle easterners and they shit all over them.

  • @somethingdiffereable As a Swede, I can't agree more with this statement.

  • @somethingdiffereable As a Swede, I can't agree more with this statement.

  • @somethingdiffereable

because the purpose is to be calm about it. i dont want my gov to react to the antics of people in mud huts the same way they react. i dont think there is any risk of sharia law here, many are here specifically because they fled that. we might be overdoing it in general but if you slap your daughter the police will react. even if its a light slap.

  • Christianity is not the answer to fight islam propagation on Europe. It's like taking Cocaine to avoid Heroin. Only Secular Democracy is the answer.

Besides Christians an muslims have the same mafia boss and when it comes to stop atheism they seem to be spontaneously friends.

Love you Sweden, you make the example.

  • @ZZzzzzzWhat Both Cocaine and Heroin has it's uses, cyanide and arsenic would represent religion better...

  • @Ludd3332 cyanide and arsenic are more lethal, these wont make a painful and slow death like religion does.

  • Religion is splitting and killing. Like here in Norway, the Vikings where killed by the christians, and a lot of knowledge got lost. Don`t tell me that it happened with just walking around with a bible. Religion is perfect in the sence that people can be led to do whatever leaders want them to do. I mean that about all religion. One person can may have a religion, bring in the next, uuups -you got politics! I`m happy to see Bjorn in this inteview and what he stands for.

  • hehe i hope god gives your country over to the Muslims.....you stupid fuckwits....Im not Muslim but he is now giving your country over to your enemies......lol...

  • @stephandnatali Fuck off, we don't need your uneducated opinion on our country.

  • @stephandnatali lol what a douche

  • @stephandnatali There is no "God" in Sweden. They killed him many decades ago there:)

  • @90talisten Nah, honestly I won't even try to debate you on the existence of God - nor that you can be moral without God. Instead I'll tell you and your religiosity to fuck off and leave Sweden, America sounds more like your country, so bugger off there (if you're not already there). We don't want your evil doctrine in a secular/atheist country.

You know what I find extremely disgusting? Religitards like you.

  • @90talisten What is so good about religion? The brainwashing? The killing? When I do something wrong, I can`t blame anyone but my self. Hmm, maybe I could use a religion to blame every time..

  • I have a comment which does not regard the actual topic they are talking about:

The subtitles should probably have stayed up longer, and left out some of the "uh" stuff, so that longer coherent messages are formed in the translation. It is more important to get the non-"uh" words across in the translation, I think.

  • Why aren't those lines in the English version? There are plenty of atheists/agnostics in America, myself included. Censorship sucks.

  • @globalchaos1984

The English version was first. The Swedish text came much later, so no censorship was involved.

  • You might be surprised to realize that many Christians would rather do without religion as well.

  • subjects so totally unknown to them only to make fools of themselves in such a ridiculous way ......!

It's juts my opinion nothing more than that, so plz don't shoot at me .....;-)

  • I don't mean to hurt anyone or to bother him in any way by saying that in my opinion

this man has quite a big confusion in his head as he mixes up reliigons, history

george bush, al qaeda , evangelic church , jesus christ , the twin towers tragedy .....all together !! ;-)

Bjorn Ulvaeus declares to be atheist, just like many people in the world daily do but with much more good mental attitude and having much bigger lucidity : calling for such rubbish as Historical Jesus and saying

  • not only that he trusts those utter nonsenses but also that it 's a ground upon which to build his own atheims

is simply bizarre, senseless , asinine and contradict. !!

No wonder the interviewer seems to get puzzled and looks quite perplex as Bjorn Ulvaeus displays on his

    " logic " and syllogism abilities ......D !!!

I think this is a fine example of how certain artists who have been so great in their career should stick to their customable field not pretending to pontificate over

  • @Trulyloyale The "Puzzled" interviewer Åke Ortmark is also a active humanist and a friend to Björn... so i guess its just good acting ;)

  • @Trulyloyale

Well since there is no contemporary evidence for a Historical Jesus outside of the Bible I think Björn is on the right track here.

The talk about Bush, Al-Qaeda etc. is based on the view from a Swede (where religion no longer is important) and watching with dread that religion with all problems are coming back as a political force in the world.

By the way that interviewer is an Atheist as well.

  • bjorn has a great faith for trust in the atheism....

bjorn see the sky, see the mountains....all was created by God.

    God bless you.

  • @leoarmonica source of evidence please of your imaginary friend. knock out the science world with your reply. history awaits you. cant wait for this little nugget of information. just think how famous your body of work on the subject matter of an imaginary friend.perhaps your just a self decieving ,insecure ,indoctronated, weakminded, non reasoning individual. i hope not. fingers crossed for you.

  • När sändes/spelades det här in?

  • @Feldegast92

Intervjun sändes på AxessTV 2008-12-08 (programmet "Ortmark"). Jag tror att själva intervjun gjordes 2007 (inget exakt datum).

  • so what who cares he doesn't believe in God and God doesn't believe in him either...lol

  • @galianociti1

I can see you standing one a high pedestal shouting through a loud speaker like u r a representative of a very powerful skydaddy, and you're ordering pple around screaming what is right and wrong ..

.. why don't u just believe what u believe and let others believe what they believe ?

Stop being so ugly , u will find a lot more happiness instead of going crazy ..

  • @kkdkk7 and what is your point

  • @galianociti1

Well, my point is exactly what I said in that comment. Do u need a lesson in reading ?

  • @kkdkk7 to be honest, i didnt get a word of what you said...and im British born and bred.

  • Jag håller verkligen med om att religiösa friskolor kan vara ett problem. Barn borde också ha rätt till religionsfrihet.

  • this man is very intelligent.

  • If you don't have God in your life, you are like a souless animal

  • @magpie4321 well... that's what everyone is, the soul is just imaginary.

  • @Kougeki1000 too bad for you! You will be facing him when you die

  • @magpie4321

"You will be facing him when you die"

    Him? Do you mean Brahma?

  • @wimsweden Not a hindoo

  • @magpie4321

Oh, you mean Ahura Mazda then.

  • @wimsweden What the heck is that?

  • @magpie4321

You haven't heard of the one true god? Poor fella.

  • @wimsweden Better to not believe in God than a crazy one like that

  • @magpie4321

    You mean Yahweh, don't you?

  • @wimsweden

" true " is a very subjective word in many religions indeed ..

    ..

If tomorrow I hear voices in my head telling me its the "true" god and I start writing down commandments stating that being science education is evil, should I start prohibiting other pple to study science ?

  • @magpie4321 no

  • god is real and god is love. Jesus is my best friend.

  • This interview really is very sad. The fact that he uses 9/11 (as if that represents the behavior of all religious) as a reason for turning to atheism is silly.

  • @vittoriacolona

    It's one reason, of many.

  • @vittoriacolona It´s his personal experience. How other people think of that is not relevant..

  • @vittoriacolona maybe... but i don't think its the only reason.

  • i can picture him in a berserker suit pillaging Britain countryside...

  • I love that they actually listen to eachother, they're very peaceful. Not argumentative like on CNN or Fox News.

  • I loved ABBA as a kid, and even give still give myself a dose every few years. I'm very happy (but not surprised) to find out how intelligent Björn is.

  • the REAL king of sweden

  • @Villeneuve27 yes :D

  • what is the name of the song in swedish???

  • @bobbypatz "Tack för alla sånger" (Thanks for all songs)

  • Yeah they've always had strange lifes, speacially Björn and Anni-Frid. It's strange and stupid to think how this man could be an atheist, he does not seem like one.

G'd or wtever it comes to mind is the word which defines everything or nothing as a whole, you can change it in favor of many others. And believe in a religion or not is everyone's bussiness.

    ABBA ROCKS STILL!

  • uh religions from the middle east are dangerous, get a clue u fukrs

  • @BarryPretto

Yeshua is dead. That rabbi died over 2000 years ago.

  • @wimsweden Darth Vader is also dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @BarryPretto Typical monotheistic douchebag, I laugh at you losing power over the western world :)

  • @BarryPretto Wow, you really are stupid.

He talks about people letting something like this guide their life when they have no evidence for it, you didn't specify any evidence and yet you believe.

Sir, I'm afraid you're the one who needs to come to your senses.

  • @BarryPretto lol

  • Wow, I never liked Abba, but this is good stuff

  • Illa att americanerna tog bort den biten av låten...
