Is is not...;-) Opening theme has got a lot of drive and a very catchy melody. The ending theme is just another boring pop song that doesn't really stand out in any way... Just an opinion, of course...:-)
Different strokes for different folks. :-) I also have to admit I've always preferred the epic, heroic, martial and historical/political themes in BXJ - and didn't care much about the romance lovey dovey stuff. I suppose my preference of the opening theme to the ending one reflects that.
In the novel originally there are Western soldiers. This remake is very close to the novel, although the first part where Yuan Chengzhi is chased by the soldiers and how he got up Huashan in the first place got shortened massively.
Yea, the first part where Yuan Cheng Zhi was chased and went to Huashan was all cut out. His childhood part was mostly cut short as well.. That was where I think the 80s version did a better job. But besides that, this version is a pretty good adaption. THe 80s version has the Western soldiers too.
It's a very complicated term to define. "Hong Zhen" literally means "red dust." But I think the deeper meaning to the term is the "social surroundings" that each of us is living in.
So "bu pa hong zhen" is "not afraid of the social surroundings."
Someone with a PhD in Chinese should correct me. But this is what it means from what I understand.
LOL. Yeah that's what I think it means too. In my mind it refers to the world or society we're living in. Also has something that reminds me of the word "earthly" versus something like heaven, etc.
Can anyone tell me what ep is 1:16?

This ending theme is average, but the opening theme is perfect for wuxia, like the ending theme of ROCH06 (江湖笑), and many older wuxia songs.
I liked Huang Shengyi in this, I hope she acts in more wuxia series! :)
