i really like this music. i'm recently getting into druidry and trying to learn more about pagan rituals and beliefs. the music just helps that much more to confirm that this is the right path for me :) ty
You might want to update this a bit. Kirk Thomas in now Archdruid and James "Seamus" Dillard is Vicearch. Oh, and I'll try to get you an updated pic of the MG.
@DruidMedb That would be great Medb. This is a very old video. I been wanting to do a new one for some years but I can't seem to gather enough new pictures until recently. If I could get one good picture of the Mother Grove I be ready to make a new video. Also I been search for a good picture showing all the former archdruids together. That be nice.
Very nice. You were/are blessed to have such an excellent foundation and leadership. I will have to venture up from Lexington, KY to see your site someday.
Wonderful. I know none of the people and I have no idea where those people are based, but the video and song are welcoming and I am certainly encouraged to look deeper into this group. A modern spiritual home.
Who's culture are they thieving exactly? I'm no Druid, but anyone who promotes love and understanding of our beautiful natural world is alright in my book.
The Druid's Royal Government from ancient Gaul brought the oral tradition of the (Brehon Laws / Feineachus) to the Hill of Tara. The Royal Druid's from ancient Gaul committed to the Druid's (Brehon Laws / Feineachus) to their memory since the beginning of the Ice Age. The Druid's Brehon Laws was preserved in the ("Senchus Mor " / "Great Old Law Book." ). You are able to read these ancient manuscripts in Gaelic, which is located at the Royal Irish Academy or at Oxford University.
How can you say that the Holy trinity has only been part of Christianity since it hit Europe... Christianity and it's parent of which it evolved Judeo-Christianity (the old testament) The Father, Son, and Holy spirit are the same God just different aspects!
Time for honesty at the time of writing my first comment I was discovering Druidry, This lead me back to the Christian Faith and I understand more thanks to taking that journey!
Yes the trinity didnt come from Europe, it came from Mesopotamia, the ancient trinity of Inanna, Shamesh, and Sin. Europe doesn't need a middle eastern religion.
I quite forgot what I was talking about but I'm guessing I was talking about Christianity - where their trinity came from. Yes Europe has its own triads, we don't need anybody else's.
I do understand what your saying, Druidry and Christanity should be polar opposites, maybe I should really have said that Druidry respects the Christian religion rather than follow both! Considering that Christian faith has adapted much of Celtic spirituality then the links are still there.
The very core of Christianity itself - the trinity - a concept which did not exist within Christian belief until it hit western Europe and its widespread use of the three layered deity forms.
The trinity has always been in Christianity, and our predecessor, Judaism. In Genesis, God said, "Let Us make Man in Our image..." ...Moses wrote the first four books of the Bible. It wasn't clearly set apart, but, it was known that there was God the Father, the promised Son of God (which Jesus fulfilled that prophecy later on), and the Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit). So, I do not think that Celtic systems influenced Christianity - the Trinity has always been known in Judaism and Christianity.
Oh absolutely yes, what I am meaning is that as a further means of integration within western Europe Christianity "defined" a trinity rather than keep it as it was, a more loosely based understanding. With divinity in triplicate being so predominant within the Celtic mindset the time came for a more structured and theologically defined idea of trinity. Even down to the use of the term itself "trinity".
@lilithblackdragon Because, one of the first prophecies in Genesis eludes to the Son of God coming. The Jews knew there would be a Messiah. The Holy Spirit was alittle more elusive, but, His role was fully recognized in the New Testament (although, He had a role in the Old Testament, just not as prominent).
They really do contradict...I've studied Christian faiths and pagan...they cannot really mix. They are polar opposites. Do some deep research, and you will see.
You say you have studied pagan faiths but that is a widesweeping term - have you looked deeply at Druidry? It bears limited relation to the other more popular form sof paganism ie wicca and finds a whole lot of common philosophical ground with Christianity.
My ex-boyfriend was a Druid...he gave me his insight on how he followed that path, essentially. Now, you say that Druidry and Christianity may bear similarity in a philosophical manner...can you give examples? I truly am curious.
in druidry, we believe in the lord and the lady....the god and the goddess. we believe that since men and women both are used 2 create a child it is also strongly believed that also in life itself. there is one god. only one. but a god that can take many shapes and forms. watever u pray 2 god in and picture him as he will come like that 2 u. thats our beliefs. the word "GOD" is a big word 2 use but we believe everything in life like the elements have there individual rulers.
Actually unlike most Wiccans, we (Druids) don't believe all the gods are one God & all the goddesses are one Goddess. We don't use the terms Lord & Lady nor do we believe the gods are just archetypes. We Druids are true polytheists while most (not all) Wiccans tend to be more dualist. Also we don't believe in the supernatural. Its like saying something is above natural law therefore outside of the Universe. Can't be outside the Universe.
i am a huge believer in the supernatural and also in spiritual energy and wicca and druidry and all that stuff!!! i love it! "ANAIL NATHROCK UTHVASS BETHUUD DOCHIEL DIENVE"!!!LOL.----SO MOTE IT BE!
ive recently taken to druidism wit polytheistic beliefs after i noticed all the questions i asked bout christianity were only answerd wit a half twisted answer but im not sure how to go about practicing worshiping or praying to the gods/godesses any help?
what do you mean, you need help praying to deity? it's something you feel, connection with god(s) is personal. i mean, there are customs, but you should be asking about rituals. just thought i'dd point out the difference
Oh, and good luck on your search. You're in Ireland so it shouldn't be very hard to find a Druid I would think... And failing that, the Daoine Sí and ancestors are all around you.:)
Please check out Luke 14:26... it is an example of what I said.
Of course, some people disagree with me and say there can be Christian Druids. You have to check it out and learn for yourself what the truth is. IMO, that is what "Druidism" really is. Focus more on being your own teacher, scientist, discoverer, and finding out the truth than on labels, and then, you might one day really be a "Druid".
and luke 14:26 i think u took wrong my interpretation of it is that he is saying i am your father to be one my disciples u must love me more then urself to not dwell on greediness and ur family is given to u by God i doubt he meant it in a different way maybe in the old testament it would be beliveable but not the new testament sure Jesus is alwasy stating that we should love our family and how we are his sons thats why he gave up his life to free us of sins and open heaven to us..
can i ask why druids seem to all be like hippies? im considering druidism and its path but like im kinda put off all the hippie aspect of it and can sum1 answer can i be a christian druid iv read that u can and that u cant be on different websites tnx
It's a matter of opinion really... I think you can't. Jesus says you must hate the world, your parents, children and everything else if you want to be saved (from him, essentially). The Celtic ethos is to respect nature as our home and mother, to love and care for past generations and live our lives in ways that leave the world a better place for future generations.
lol i cant find any1 except u to slightly talk to me bout the religion and i never even heard of the daoine si what it mean? her people in english is it? tnx though ur views are helping me just afraid of how to tell my friends etc theyll think im off my rocker
thank you for sharing this video. Nice dresses ,only have not meet Druids yet that were dressed that nice. ;) Mostly I meet them with wellies thick robes or cloaks, nude.. or colourful dressed in all different styles. ;)
There is only 1 Archdruid within a Order. Isaac is mentioned as the Archdruid Emeritus as he's the Orders Founder. I've been told that Meredith will be running for Archdruidess in the next elections. Theres a equal number of women in my Order, but I couldn't find that many at the time online.
@GreenElfMom Yes and don't be surprise if you end up seeing DruidMedb becoming our first Archdruidess. She has been attacking the study programs with gusto while teaching classes herself and we in the Northwest are lucky to have her as our Regional Druidess. She is a workaholic within ADF just like our present Archdruid Reverend Kirk Thomas.
@GreenElfMom To add to what Gypsy said we haven't had a female Arch Druid as none have ran for the office but nothing is holding them back from going so.

You, know in Honesty it Can't! Christianity and Druidry are really total opposites of the scale.
I confess that applying myself to that question has brought me back in to Christianity (I'm not saying Druidry is wrong) just didn't sit right for me!
I think that maybe the stories are similar but there is only one true story in Christianity!
king2102b 3 years ago
Yes Great music this, OBOD use it on Druidcast too, I'd love to get this track somewhere!
Christian Druids; duality on this path is very common!
