  • i wanna be James Bond..Sing like Gino and hav Dong like Elephant..

  • Gino may you always get lots of Octopussy...lol..you desrve it ...

  • from the first time i heard GVin the seventies i heard no one like him..he was ahead of his time with his Vocal Qualities ...

he and HIS brother for the keyboard synthesizer work he did on ginos songs..

No one at that time was doing anything like that with synthesizers...in other words it was like Led Zepellin when they first came out..they were ahead of their time..thats how i felt about gino V..Another one of Gods Gifted..thanks Gino for using Gods gift.

  • It's truly unbelievable the sexism in the images in this video. It's too bad men have to be so cheesy in spite of t his great music.

  • Yea, that is the problem, bullshit videos like this waste our time when we are trying to find stuff endorsed by the artist themselves. It is not illegal, juste in bad taste and a waste of time...

    but thanks for liking Gino....

  • At 2:03, I am surprised they credited Rita Coolidge's song and not Gino's. It was in the middle of his song.

  • thanx for the song and vid....as much as I love Rita Coolidge and All Time High.....this would have made a better Bond theme....in my humble opinion....it's more fitting.....it just has that vibe from that time.....

  • Brilliant! A perfect match. This song should've been used originally instead of "All Time High".

  • wasn't it " all time high " the theme of octopussy ?

  • He is canadian, not italian.

  • Personally, I like this song better than the Octopussy theme song. Thanks for putting this together.

  • In the drums...Vinnie Colaiuta!!

  • Lol Gino Vannelli isn't italian, he's canadian you dumbass

  • He's Italian/Canadian...

    Hell,I'm Italian/American...(De Vido)

  • Interesting concept here. Amazing how a different song can fit so well, no? Too bad "the song = fail". But, I like what you did with it.

  • Màs que comentario, Gino Vanelli tiene un buen registro de voz, ese tono maravilloso, la melodia. Es fabuloso. Tal vez algùn dìa se animè y venga a Pèrù.

  • Gino is actually Canadian but of course of Italian descent.

  • Any reason why you substituted the real opening song with this one other than to show off Gino's awesome vocal talents?

    Not a criticism,just asking.

  • you know what is great with english....Octopussy, I must have seen that film....six times!!!

Yeah, yeah, it isn't so bad.

  • This is not the theme music to Octopussy!!!

  • Learn to read. Look at the description numbskull...

  • What's the point of showing the opening scenes to a film with a famous

song and providing a different song! It's obvious anyone searching for Octopussy will be expecting to hear the proper music with the opening, hence the comment you dimwit!

    scenes of the film.

  • You'd think so, but the title is clearly labeled

"Octopussy" opening w/ music by Gino Vannelli. If you can't read or have an open mind why some onto YouTube. Its a place for freedom of speech and creative or editorial work.

If you want the original song so bad, go and buy the OST...

  • Bloody Canadian!!! I have loved GIno's musics since the mid 80s!!

  • Quelle bonne surprise ! Une de mes chanson préférée du Grand Gino

  • What is the purpose of a Bond intro with different music?

  • The info is wrong, master Gino was Canadian, not Italian.........great vid by te way!!

  • With a name like Gino Vannelli, I'll bet he has Italian ancestry.

Heritage and Nationality are often different for those of us who live in the western hemisphere.

  • But the heritage dont give a damn to anybody

  • fail

  • This is such a magnificent composition... They don't make compositions like these anymore... And what a voice...

  • Next Bond theme has to be Guitar.. Supremos out there, europe/usa/africa/etc Yngwie to start, who knows?

  • RUSH!!!

  • I love Gino, but this song does not work with these titles!

  • BTW he is Canadian. born in Montreal.

  • The quality of Gino's voice is so good.

  • also maybe try some song like right round or something with the casino royale opening.

  • dude im a huge bond fan and ive actually tryed this before so hear me out you should do this song with the moonraker opening.

  • Grande ci sta benissimo nightwalker sui titoli di testa! eccellente!

  • One of a kind performer. The guy is a true gift to the world of music. When there is no shortage of mediocre crap being mass produced, one may find true talent in Gino's songs.

  • Gino is totally unique. He raised the bar very high. Those who really know his music know why I say this.

  • Right on the "spot" Thanks !!!!!!

  • Boogiebass69, You comment nailed it on the head. The best I can do is echo your sentiments...well done!

  • Not only is this song perfect for this movie, but whoever made this video is a genius. Gino's voice and this music fit perfectly for Octopussy.

  • I totally agree on that, vdvsoldat .

  • nice

  • Gino and Roger "Simply the best"

  • Aman, awesome choice!!!!!!! Gino would really fit into Bond's style.

Someone said he's "underrated". Couldn't agree more. He's extremely talented. Listen to his arrangement in Pauper In Paradise. This guys knows how to make the most out of an orchestra. He's composing is elegant. He has so many good songs.

i saw him live at Rotterdam in 2007. Awesome!!!!! (by the way, 30min before I ahd seen Steely Dan. What a f'g amazing day) :-)

  • Gino Vanelli - one of the best voices ever. I have always loved Gino - I met him once a long time ago in Austin - a friend was a concert promoter and I got to go back stage and meet him

  • Gino surely deserves to sing a title song for a Bond film.

  • Both songs for the movie are great however I think that "All Time High" is a little more fitting to the flim.

  • GINO VANELLI with ''Appaloosa'' is the greatest song ever!

  • Oww ini Gino Vanelli tho yg nyanyi...

  • You are right and right. This guy is so underrated with his voice and talent. Anyone have an idea why?

  • Gino simply cannot be catagorized into any of standard genres...he's in a class entirely of his own. KILLER music combining fusion, rock, & much more, performed w/ incredible skill & passion. His brothers were gifted players & sound moguls, as well. Gino Vanelli continues to inspire and still has IT! Thanks Gino, for the accomplishments, as well as a long future...you're an incredible talent.

  • Well said, boogiebass69. Gino is very talented and defies any genre classification, unless there's one for "simply great."

  • Thanks Mominator.

He is one really incredible songster. Kudos to shared good tastes in REAL music.

CHEERS to all who appreciate it!

  • @boogiebass69 ..yes so true and he has a very very BIGG DICK..

  • @meatpole55 - women dont' care about the size of Gino's dick whatsoever. It's his voice and emotions, soul. Elephants have big dicks too.

  • @studiosinger ..LMAO...hon im just joking ,

OMG BABY YOU ARE A RIOT..YOU MADE MY SIDES HURT FROM LAFTER..ELEPHANTS -BIGG DICKS..LOL......seriously tho.i been following gino V since 1977..and still listening to him today..

and you are right elephants do have bigg dicks too..lol

and james bond..i always love Rogermoore ..it always looks like he's got a baseball bat in his trousers..lol...you know hes got to have a bigg SCHLOCK on him they way he's always banging all those women in his movies..

  • @meatpole55 - glad you were amused. Gino is very talented and highly underrated today. Please let me know if you can what happened to let him slip away so quickly in music. I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

  • @studiosinger ..from the first time i heard GVin the seventies i heard no one like him..he was ahead if his time with his Vocal Qualities ...

he and his brother for the keyboard synthesizer work he did on ginos songs..

No one at that time was doing anything like that with synthesizers...in other words it was like Led Zepellin when they first came out..they were ahead of their time..thats how i felt about gino V..Another one of Gods Gifted..thanks Gino for using Gods gift

  • He didn't appeal to " hip" American college students.

  • This is the most underrated super star in the music industry. Why is he not doing Movie Soundtracks or producing other artist? - have you heard his classical stuff? - give the man his due!!

  • Lady Grinning Soul by David Bowie works much better.

  • Viva the canadiens, i am a canadian =D

  • he's not italian, hes Canadian!

  • Actually he's Italian-Canadian. I saw it in Wikipedia^_^

  • Actually he is Canadian of Italian decent, born in Quebec.

And he's a brilliant singer songwriter.

  • this is not original theme music of octopussy..what is this?

  • Es un tema ¡¡Precioso!! y el vídeo está muy bien.

    Besos,

    Elsa.

    *******

  • WTF! wheres all time high?

  • This got me thinking.

"Brother to Brother" would be a terrific title for a James Bond film.

Imagine - James Bond's twin brother turns out to be an odious villain and the pair must face off against each other at the end of the film!

Gino Vanelli's songs are perfect for Bond.

  • That is such a great idea !!!! I have to see that movie now! Two Daniel Craigs batteling it out and Gino Vannelli providing the soundtrack!!!

  • Yeah - and it doesn't help that they fall in love with the same double agent during the movie.

Gino's songs are good for Bond because they are massive, big - some would say overblown. Absolutely perfect for the job.

  • Please...no Bond purist can tolerate even one Daniel Craig...hey..he got the role...nice work if you can get it...but I know many unknowns that would be a better Bond...and in all fairness to Daniel Craig... the writting is lousy...we need less explosions and better scripts...oh yeah...and me as the new Bond.

  • would be a great movie in the 50's or 60's today it would be too cliche and dumb.

  • Agreed. That sort of campy idea would've been PERFECT for one of the movies in the '70s or '80s but now...no.

  • Gino Vanelli is Canadian.

  • He is Canadian and is Italian..

  • He was born June 16'th, 1952 in Montreal,

    Quebec, Canada.

  • I know that and he's Italian/Canadian!!

  • i love the music of Gino but I must admit that this song doe not fit with the picture

  • Great Gino

  • This could have easily been a Bond theme. It is surprising to see a non-submission fit a film so well. This would have been a very popular song in the franchise.

  • No doubt this track revalue Octopussy. Shame that nobody got this amazing idea early. especially the beginning of NIGHTWALKER is such a superb opener and fits 100 percent. Hope that anyone of these fimproducer wake up. Again, this song is a gem......

  • Really good, beautiful :-)

  • Irony, never gets old. I'm being ironic, which I think was a never released song by Toto.

  • I think this is the time Gino ordered beef lo mein at a Chinese restaurant, but the kitchen gave him veal lo mein and wouldn't own up to it. Gino, in his famous, fair yet firm delivery, demanded to see the chef, who refused to come to his table. Gino thereupon dumped the plate of lo mein face down on the white linen table cloth and recited the quoted dialogue about the chef "not having the balls to come face to face with him," at the table.

I think this is what happened.

    Sincerely,

    The LDO

  • wtf?! from russia with love was one of the best.

  • Say, could you try this with the FYEO credits? Considering they'd both be 1981 products...

  • Luiecuomo, no poblem with your overdub. Looks good. Images match the song. it could've been the real one.

slochops, just have fun and d'ont take it so seriously. That's youtube's job, not yours. Have fun.

  • I don't understand how the hell you can be so uptight. There are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of videos JUST LIKE THIS all over Youtube that have not been ordered to be removed. I'm not making any profit off of this. How is it illegal?

  • Hi, how did you do this technically? I would like to do this with some other movies... I have Windows Movie Maker and DVD Decrypter, but I seem to be stuck. Any suggestions?

  • @LuiECuomo - they're selective and doing this very slowly.

  • @LuiECuomo who said you were illegal posting GINO .to hell with them..you do what you want ..

  • Dude. Chill. This is really no different from creating a fanvideo of clips from the movie and setting THAT to a song. And if you haven't noticed, Youtube is full of BOTH.

  • 1. The description already implies the song was not meant for the film, since it's an '81 one, and Octopussy was released in '83.

    2. The title already implies that they're not the same.

    3. The title sequence video says "All time High" performed by Rita Coolidge, and not anything my Vannelli, ending ANY doubt whatsoever

  • Nice try, not bad but still cant compare to Ritas, sounds to much like The tv show-moonlighting

  • The entire point is to see if songs from that period would 'work' with the titles, so as to speak.

  • Great mix of song and video. Just a correction though, Gino Vannelli is Canadian. He is from Montreal, Quebec.

  • De verdad se utilizo esta canción de Gino vannelli para esa pelicula de James Bond? o solo es sobrepuesta?

  • Gino is fantastic....about time his music was featured on a major movie. Many thanks Tom

  • That was trés '80s and VERY sexy. Never heard that song before...love it!

  • I hope you like the song itself, as well.

  • i like it nice

  • Very nice! Interesting on how it synchs up. :)
