It's interesting to see someone like Vierotchka, with such an amazing amount of knowledge and yet not just absolutely blind to Truth, but too ignorant to even consider it to be a possibility. I guess when you seek to gain knowledge for nothing more than the ability to disprove God, then that knowledge never becomes true wisdom. Keep doing what you're doing Shae, God will bless you.
I think it's interesting that you have an interest in the Maasai, whether that comes from studies or being there I don't know. You are wrong though. They still do not bury they're dead. That is one of the many things my parents have shown the people in the manyatta they are working with. Maybe the manyatta you visited they did bury their dead. I'm curious to know where they learned that....maybe past missionaries? Because it's not part of their culture.
Normally, a corpse is picked clean by the various carrion eaters within days, and they are laid out far from the manyattas, so the risk of disease is minimal at worse.
The Maasai will "convert" to Christianity and to Islam, sometimes both, but they will all continue to worship their God N'Gai and maintain their native religion.
So you think everyone goes to Heaven? Everyone is right? There is no moral standard? How can that be? Every religion has a different belief on who they think god is. They all cannot be right because they contradict each other. No religion in reality agrees with another. So that can only mean that one religion can be right. Jesus Christ is the only true God, He is the only God that came to earth and walked with us, suffered with us, died for us. No other god has done that.
Every religion claims to be the one true religion and to worship the only true God or Gods. As for other gods com9ing to earth, walking and suffering with us and dying of us, there have been a great many - they are called Avatars in India - and the Jesus myth is copied entirely on several previous myths (Pan, Osiris, etc.) who all were "born of virgins" and were either crucified or executed. Yes, everyone goes to heaven (more in next post).
Everyone is "doomed" to salvation and heaven. This was taught by the early church before it got corrupted by political agendas and interests in the fourth century A.D. Yet that teaching survives in the Bible, despite the efforts of perverted church fathers. The Bible says that the living God is "the savior of all men, especially of those who believe" (1Tim. 4:10.).
The Bible tells us that Jesus "gave Himself as a ransom for all, to be testified in due season" (1Tim. 2:6), and that although all are now dying in Adam, "so in Christ will all be made alive--but each in his own order" (1Cor. 15:22-28.) All those who are chosen by God are receiving new life now. They are the elect, who will escape God's corrective Judgements, but all others will be saved later.
The sacrifice of Christ was adequate to destroy ALL the works of sin and evil in whatever form. Everyone will be saved eventually. All judgments and punishments of God are remedial, corrective, cleansing and purgative and only last long enough to accomplish that end.
My friend and I just met three Maasai tribesman at the San Diego Wild Animal Park and were about to share Jesus with them when we found out they were christians already! It is so overwhelming and such a blessing to see the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ working in so many lives over such an enormous span. Praise the Lord
The Maasai have a perfectly good and valid monotheistic religion - they don't need people to come and convert them to any other religion. Christian missionaries have brought untold misery and destruction all over the world for centuries. Shameful.
Don't speak in ignorance. It isn't always neccisary to state your opinion. Did you know that the maasai people don't bury their dead causing diseases. Or that they believe that sleeping with a child will cure aids? It's not Christ that has brought us misery but the lack of Him. Christianity is an assurance of life with our Creator after we die. It's about God forgiving you for everything you've ever done and will do, and making you His child no matter who you are or where you come from.
The Masai do NOT believe that sleeping with a child will cure aids, and yes, in the past, they disposed of their dead by smearing sheep fat on the body and leaving the body to be eaten by carrion eaters such as hyenas, vultures, etc., but that practice was abandoned many decades ago. Every single human person, past, present and future, has that assurance of life with the Creator, whether Christian or not, whether a believer or not, and whatever they have done or not.
That said. Men sleeping with children is also a very common practice. Still happening to this day and yes they do think it will cure their aids. Some know better, most don't. People know because they are shown, told or taught...just as you and I were shown told and taught. These practices were not abandoned but still go on everyday.
Girls are allowed to have sex with the Morans, but it is never forced upon them. They don't think it will cure aids - those who "don't know" aren't even exposed to aids. I was telling the Maasai about aids in 1984 already.
The belief that sleeping with children will cure aids is located in a totally different part of Africa, thousands of miles away from Kenya and Tanzania. It hasn't spread to the Maasai.
By definition, we are all born God's children, so it is not a question of God making one His child after one is born. God is all-forgiving, so nobody will suffer from not being forgiven. God is not a dysfunctional, violent, cruel, sadistic, hateful and vengeful entity, despite some men depicting Him in their pathological image. And I don't speak in ignorance, but it would seem that you certainly do.
Great work. God will repay all you who sacrifice your time for his glory.

It comes from my spending years with them. They began burying their dead decades ago by order of the Kenyan government.
