No one is saying that. Hospital restructuring is being conducted as if those of us who live outside large cities (over 100,000 people) have no right to any hospital services whatsoever. Decisions have been made by appointed boards and Ministry bureaucrats, without input from medical professionals or residents. The MHLTC is passing the buck and the cost onto property taxes: municipalities pay for ambulance services. Paramedics have to travel over an hour to the nearest ER; patients die en route.
So you're saying every community in Ontario should have a full service hospital in their own backyard? Whose going to pay for that? Dream on!
