The greenhouse was a real bargain. Because of the price, I wasn't sure it would hold up to the extreme heat here in south Alabama. It has been constructed two years and it still looks good. We have also had high winds in excess of 60 mph. I had a couple of panel that blew out. I put them back in and added a few extra clips. I have been very pleased with the durability of the greenhouse. I purchased another one on sale for $549.99. The price was too good.
@badams48 i just sit up my greenhouse here in arab alabama 10x12 harborfreight like yours
what we did we used self tapping screws and screwed the panels in if you dont they will keep blowing out
and how im gonna cool my in the summer is gonna be a evaporative cooler so it takes the needs out for misters also we cocked all the panes im going to build a U shape table outta plyboard and 2by4s
I purchased additional clips online and installed them on the greenhouse to prevent the panels from blowing out. I had 2 panels blow out within the first 2 months after I constructed it. Since installing the additional clips I haven't had any panels blow out. That was a about 2 years ago. Caulking the ends of the polycarbonate panels is a good idea. I have had moisture inside the panels because I didn't caulk them initially.
I overwinter some of my tropical plants in the greenhouse. The greenhouse has been great for starting all my bedding plants for my garden. The greenhouse is still looking good. I plan on growing tomatoes in the greenhouse this winter. If I am successful I will upload a video.
Thanks. The greenhouse produced alot of plants this past summer. I am looking forward to getting the seeds started again this December and January. This greenhouse is well worth the money. I paid $750.00 but have seen in on sale for $650. Instruction for the greenhouse aren't too good but you can get pictures on the Internet that help alot.
Nice job. I purchased the same greenhouse but haven't had the time to assemble it yet. You should add the improvements you can find in online blogs. Here are a couple of sites I found. billsbayou.blogspot.com/2010/03/review-harbor-freight-greenhouse-by-one.html and hfgh10x12.blogspot.com/2007/08/this-is-greenhouse-we-bought-link-it.html. Just cut and paste into explorer. The comments section doesn't seem allow links. Thanks for the video.
Very nicely done. I don't know where you live, but if you get any wind, you may want to do a search for "harbor freight greenhouse improvements", and look at some strengthening of the frame. The panels can pop out when the winds come up, as can happen in a thunderstorm. Also, caulking at both ends of the panels will help stop moisture from forming inside of them and eventually causing discoloration.
