This fight took place when MMA was still a very esoteric sport... very few fights were documented outside the UFC. Gokor has 80-90 mma fights under his belt - most were in the 1980s and early 1990s, before organizations like Sherdog were keeping track. It was a different era. So it's hard to know how good Maeda was... but Gokor's abilities are clearly backed by the multitude of top level UFC and Pride fighters who seek him out for instruction.

Meada was the Guy who fought Rickson in the final of the 94 Vale Tudo Champs. He was blinded by an eye gouge by Gerad Gordeau(?)in his first fight and still got to the final!!!!

That's right Gene Lebell baby. Not taking anything away from Goko, dudes got his own dynasty. His school is right acrosst the street from where I live. It's on Sunset and Normandie in Hollywood, tons of kids training with gokor now.

Actually, Gokor recently moved his school to North Hollywood on Burbank Blvd. He has a new studio with 40 ft ceilings and over 4000 sq ft of mat space. Cant' wait to train there!
