  • english willow does make a good bat but am sure the willow grown in Auzz is just as good, please tell me if am wrong

  • Australian plantations are coming on line very soon if not now- Time will tell if the quality is comparable to English willow - The only major plantations in Australia that I am aware of are close to the Vic/NSW border. These growing condtions vary greatly to the UK - Until Aust willow has been cut and graded and proven to be 1st class quality, Julian will continue using ONLY the English 1st class willow.

  • well the english willow is the best but Jullian must prefer his own willow as it saves him as importing English willow is expensive

  • Julian ONLY uses willow from England

    Regards

    Paul

  • so what is with the willow trees ???

  • An appropriate backdrop

  • but that looks like a plantation of willow to me

  • Isn't this slightly misleading? I was always under the impression that the best Willow and therefore the only Willow used for the manufacture of top quality bats was grown here in Essex England? Whereas your video seems to show Willows growing in Australia?

  • Yes its true, the willow fields behind Julian in the video are in Australia however it was mainly to use as a background. Julian only uses imported willow from England to make all his bats.
