man, my 4 year old VAIO TZ still gets 6+ hrs of battery life with wifi and browsing, etc. if i turn off wifi and dim the LCD, i get over 8 hrs... this is with the 6 cell battery
Fix the keyboard, fix the wifi reception, and fix the trackpad and I'll pull the trigger on buying one next year. Until then, this laptop still isn't perfect. Still an awesome competitor for the MBA with the added bonus of not running on shitty Mac OS, but not quite perfect. Asus can do better.

You miss the point, which is that, like Don Imus calling the basketball players from Rutgers "nappy-headed hoes," you reveal more about yourself than about the object of your epithet when you sling such an "opinion." You do more harm to yourself than to the object of your barb, which is untouched—or even elevated.

I guess those are the rules of the internet though: say something, someone disagrees, you tell them its your opinion, they decided that you're butt hurt. One thing I haven't seen mentioned in the review/comments is how godawful ugly Asus software UI looks. I have a netbook (1015) and the included Asus tools are butt ugly and full of spelling errors. If they want to compete with the MBA, they need to at least have decent looking software tools.
Anand I love these videos, I especially love how you're mixing in more video so it's less staring at you (not that theres anything wrong with you! it's just not super interesting, i'm sure you understand what i mean). have you considered making more use of the green screen? you could make the video a lot more dynamic by mixing in video content next to you while you talked. just an idea.
Asus made some claims about their heat sink design compared to the "Fruit brand" company (I love them just for saying Fruit Brand), how is heat and noise?
@tipoomaster I do want an ultrabook, but a different kind. A 14in ultrabook but with a discrete gpu, like a 560m. Best of all worlds... well maybe 555, uses less power.

For a notebook I would prefer having extra brightness sacrificing the view angle and the black level to some extent.
Probably because I do tend to use these out in the sun and that extra brightness does come in handy.
