  • Just Great what more can i say but thanksssss.....

  • Did a guy called Mike Donald ever play for the Merseybeats?

  • Nope

  • @Dennisgould1 no he was in the dakotas

  • When was this? Looks early 80s to me. Who is the guy with the tosh singing backing vocals on bass??

  • The 'tosh' is Bob Packham who has now been with the band 35 years.

  • Ok, thanks for that. I thought he looked a bit like Carl Wayne, but I knew it wasn't.

  • bloody hell he does look like Carl Wayne, though I know it isn't him

  • One of our favourite songs of all time.

  • saw them last night absolutely wonderful to see. Love you lads xx

  • in my top twenty. Great to see, and hear them again.

  • werent the merseybeats stable mates to the beatles?,both managed by brian epstein i believe?.

  • GR8 Live Performance - Love It

    Cheers Slumbers2

  • Great share SLUMBERS2! TY :)

  • the difference with the merseybeats is they didnt take the money and run to USA like the flab 4. they stayed in UK

  • The Fab Four didn't take money and run to the US. They toured here like other British bands did.

  • The Merseybeats also toured the US and even had their own TV show in Italy, so by your twisted logic, they also took the money and ran to the U.S., and elsewhere!

  • Yeah - and that was a bad move wasn,t it.

Think you,l find that The Beatles toured the UK extensively before they went to America, I can show you the itineries for 63/64 if you would like.

  • Quality tune *****

  • Its a pity Bob the Bass player doesnt know the words to the first chorus

    Wanker

  • From what I've read, when Pete Best was fired, Brian Epstein offered him the job as the drummer for the Merseybeats. But not wanting to take away the job from the band's current drummer, and having already been a member of the Beatles, he didn't accept the offer.

  • If it hadn't been for the beatles coming along these guys would have been much bigger than they were. I think that they did a lot of the mersey sound. Odd how so many good groups emerged from Liverpool in that era.

  • Melodic, well-crafted. I adore this style.

  • bolly...tony crane was never in Liverpool Express...just Billy Kinsley

  • Its always great too hear the brilliant Merseybeats. Dont forget as well, that Tony Crane and Billy Kinsey also had success as Liverpool Express in the late 70s. Brilliant video....

  • Ahhhhhhh the Merseys.......sexy and another great group from Liverpool!!

  • Dead sexy. There used to be a video of them doing Wishin and Hopin on here, may now be deleted, that was fantastic.

  • fantastic

  • It's a shame Tony is gay!

  • No he's not, where did you find that gem?

  • Just joking but you've got to laugh at that outfit!!

  • "I Think Of You" - the best rock song to come out of Britain in the 60's, by the best rock group to come out of Britain in the 60's - good show!

  • i agree

  • When the Beatles were on Juke Box Jury, this was one of the few songs they voted a hit.

  • Tony doesn't sound much different today! Brilliant stuff, more please.

  • fantastic

  • Just love this - more please
