Fabulous vid !! great classic and a great song . loved this group .. just Wonderful my freind !!A Big Thanx from me .. long live the 60s' yeah!!!Lyndloo..
Went to see them perform tonight at the Green Room Liverpool and they were totally awesome .... plus they played loads of other 60's Mersey hits, pure magic.
The Merseybeats also toured the US and even had their own TV show in Italy, so by your twisted logic, they also took the money and ran to the U.S., and elsewhere!
From what I've read, when Pete Best was fired, Brian Epstein offered him the job as the drummer for the Merseybeats. But not wanting to take away the job from the band's current drummer, and having already been a member of the Beatles, he didn't accept the offer.
If it hadn't been for the beatles coming along these guys would have been much bigger than they were. I think that they did a lot of the mersey sound. Odd how so many good groups emerged from Liverpool in that era.
Its always great too hear the brilliant Merseybeats. Dont forget as well, that Tony Crane and Billy Kinsey also had success as Liverpool Express in the late 70s. Brilliant video....

The 'tosh' is Bob Packham who has now been with the band 35 years.

the difference with the merseybeats is they didnt take the money and run to USA like the flab 4. they stayed in UK
vinalbone 3 years ago
The Fab Four didn't take money and run to the US. They toured here like other British bands did.

Yeah - and that was a bad move wasn,t it.
Think you,l find that The Beatles toured the UK extensively before they went to America, I can show you the itineries for 63/64 if you would like.
