No, humans rally like sheep behind emotionally appealing sentiments, such as McCain's war ribbons, lapel pins and the philosophy of God, honor and nation above all else.
Good God...for those paying attention to Obama's constant flow of hypocritical and contradictory statements, these video clips should come as no suprise. Obama supporters...wake up! Obama would be butchered by the Republicans in a genral election. Video clips from Trinity Church (note: you can watch their sermons on-lien), 100s of pages from his books for them to use, etc. They have all of the ammo one could wish for.
No way, under any circumstances could I vote for someone who is so willing to say whatever he thinks will get him elected. What is worse is that he portrays himself as being something different. He is not. He should not have even been in the race, with the little experience he has. Thank goodness America is starting to wake up and see him for the fraud he is.
Typical politician - lies without batting an eye - full of campaign rhetoric - all he can do well is give a speach...that it! He's lost major white votes for his 20 year support of Wright and his unpatriotic and racist words - he should just stop and go back to his Rezco mansion in Chicago...
Nothing wrong with Obama's positions. He opposed the war from the start. Once the war is initiated, every senator is obligated to support the troops. There's no choice.
Obama did oppose the war. When Kerry ran, he was forced to defend Kerry, although still stating to him the case was not made.
Fox News is answering Rush Limbaugh's call for Republicns to support Hillary through this primary, so McCain can trash her in the general. Since when has their "journalism" been treated as credible.
BO needs to pack it in. He is a foreign relations nightmare. We need Hillary to get us out of Iraq and rebuild our relations with our allies and enemies. BO is reckless in his language and shows his immaturity with regard to foreign relations.
The Bush Administration does and should bear all the responsibility for this war. Not the Senators, who like all of us, gave Bush the go ahead based on faulty intelligence. Hillary will get us out responsibly and tactfully. Obama waffles and his words have serious holes in them. He can't be trusted and he really doesn't show good judgement. Vote Hillary for America success.
84 out of 85 votes on Iraq in the senate Obama and HRC voted the same. The one vote they didnt was on the naming of a general. oBama says he was right from day 1 on Iraq, yet he had 84 oppurtunities in the senate to follow those wrods with action and did not, perhaps he should go back to "church" whre the conversation is frequently about Americas foriegn policy.
its great that clinton supporters have now turned to fox news as their standard bearer. any rational person remembers the insane amount of bullshit this place puts out. selling your soul for a small chance to win.

Obama was against the war because his pastor said "WE DESERVED 9/11"! Not because he had great insight or judgment! He is gullible. He believed Bush's "mission accomplished" speech! Hello America!!!! Wake up! The stakes are too high to have a President we'll get to know while he is learning to run our government!
further, obama's stance against the war was made in a politically safe anti-war speech to anti-war crowd at an anti=war rally of his anti-war district while he was running against competitors who self-destructed leading to his "landslide" victory. then when he ran for Senate (2004), he took the speech off the website because it was "dated," another way of saying the American people were still for the war, and that speech may cost me a win. not til 2005 did americans oppose the war! courage? no.

of course its important to support the troops, however, that does not mean voting to fund the war. funding allows for continued operations and presence. it does not mean taking the armor off the troops already there and saying sorry, congress is no longer w/ u. give me a friggin break.

Typical Obama. Glad to see the news media finally reporting on it. Obama changes his view to fit each situation. You can see it so clearly on the campaign trail, too. In Idaho, he says he's against gun legislation; in IL votes and as noted in print, he's for it. He says he will immediately withdraw troops from Iraq, but his policy advisor admits that's just campaign trail rhetoric. It's all just more words, not proved or backed up by action.
Of course, in doing so, they've admitted that the surge was never a strategy designed to bring the war in Iraq to a conclusion. Which means that they have no strategy for bringing the war to conclusion. In fact, it seems doubtful that they even know what the end of the Iraq War would look like, since they've failed to articulate any concrete goal by which success or failure could actually be judged. (Which is probably why McCain talks about being there for a hundred years.)
there is no conclusion to theis war, the mistake everyone makes is they think this war started 5 years ago, it started in 79 when Carter gave Sadaam permission to invade Iran, we have been in and out of the area wever since and our presecence is only going to get stronger, once we leave Iraq, Iran walks in.
Second, it continues to amaze me the goalpost-moving that President Bush engages in and Fox News endorses. In January 2007, Bush sold the surge as a way of making progress in Iraq -- stabilizing security issues, reducing U.S. casualties, and legitimizing the Iraqi government.
While the surge did succeed in reducing the U.S. casualty rate to a pre-2006 rate, that has been its only "success". And so, of course, the Bush Administration was redefined the goal of the surge to match its result.
First, it's notable that Fox News can't figure out a nuanced position like "I opposed going to war, but believe that -- as long as we're there -- it's important that we support our troops." And that Fox News interprets any expression of actual consideration, thought, or re-analysis put into a position to constitute "lying".
The reality, of course, is that it's not a black and white world.
gee FOX, i wonder where your position stands. this is soooo far from objective journalism that i laugh out loud!!
