  • Pink Floyd

  • dude your personal opinion on the pink floyd songs top 40 is wwwwaayyy off. almost half of those shouldnt even be on there and the other half needed to be in the higher ranks

  • The Wall is greatest album ever made

  • coming back to life at 38 are you shitting me !! dunno if you have them in your order from 40 to 1 but coming back to life is atleast 3rd 2nd or 1st .my opinion like!!

  • The Great Gig in the sky is one of my favorites!

  • a saucerful of secrets is good but is better in liva at pompeii i think =P

  • You are a fool! How do you put "Learning to Fly" in sixth place? You do not even put "Sorrow" in the charts! "Intestellar Overdrive" is a great piece but it seems exaggerated to put it among the top ten! You put pieces like "Coming Back To Life" or "Young Lust" among the last places! In my opinion the first three songs should be: "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (the one I believe that you have placed in the right place), "High Hopes" and "Comfortably Numb".

  • @toddwikk I hear what you're saying and respect you're opinion, i just think that they made at least 40 songs while Waters was in the band that were better than anything they did after he left.

  • What's the name of the song from the ZP, Obscured, Meddle phase they sometimes play on classic rock radio? It's a shaggy dog story and the end of every line is punctuated with a strong power chord. I know this is vague but it is very unlike most PF songs that you hear on the radio.

  • Interstellar Overdrive WTF

  • echoes is my favorite

  • first of all i realize this list is objective and every 1 has their own opinions but i have 2 criticisms.

    1. IMO nothing after Waters left the band should be considered.

    2. No Fearless? are you insane?

I agree that Echoes is #1 but i would have Fearless #2 and its not even on your list, there is something wrong with that

  • @5leafc1over

    Fearless should realy be #2.

  • @5leafc1over i cant believe you'd say nothing after Waters left should be considered...David Gilmour was the voice AND guitar of Pink Floyd...Momemtary Lapse and Division Bell are both great albums and if you cant see that then you arent a real Pink Floyd fan.

  • @branch1234 read my most recent comment, Gilmore is an amazing guitarist and a great singer, put Waters was the mind and soul of the band, an untouchable song writer, after he left their whole sound changed. momentary lapse and division bell are good but IMO all the albums they made while Waters was in the band are better

  • @5leafc1over Oh i definitely agree that the albums they made while Waters was still in were their best, i mean its pretty obvious seeing how Dark side, Wish you were here, and the wall are theyre best selling albums. It just seemed like you were saying that anything Gilmour did afterward wasnt good, thats all.

  • --- it's really a good video, but... And On the Turning Away??????

  • each one is better than the other......there can be no top 40!I love this band

  • who the fuck pushes the "unlike" button??? its pink floyd!!!!!

  • spectacular.

I also love very much some singles like Julia Dream and Biding My Time.

and a lot of other Pink Floyd songs of course

but my favorite is Atom Heart Mother!!!!!!

  • one of theses days (Y) big song

  • THE WALL IS THE THERD

  • Love the list and thanks for making it. My personal fav is Wish You Were Here, and notice that album is the only one that has all the songs on the list! Best album, imo. Also thought Fearless off of Meddle should have got a vote as well as On the Turning Away off of Momentary Lapse of Reason. Love Echoes, only problem is it's hard to go anywhere that's far enough away in the city where I can listen to the whole thing.

  • @wadereed27 Dogs is #19...

  • my favorite one is The Trial :D but every Floyd song is GREAT! and especially individual nowadays all sounds the same somehow.

sometimes I wish I lived a few decades ago.

I sound like my grandpa lol. "Before, everything was better" :D

    Thx for uploading

  • where's in the flesh?

  • where the fuck is dogs thats like the best song by pink floyd and i would put careful with that axe higher

  • When you are such a hardcore Floyd Fan it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to choose a favourite or make a list or put in any order any of their songs or albums. But , and big BUT it's nice to know there are more fans of Floyd out there and I give you props for taking your time and making this list (which I might not agree with) but for sure we all have our right to say what we do and don't like. =)

  • Absolutely agree about the top of the ranking :)

  • Was it Pink Floyd who sung a song by any chance which had a really sad and memorable acoustic guitar intro and quite sad lyrics? I'm trying to find a song from my childhood and its really bugging me...

  • with the top 3 i totally agree

    but then...where is sorrow?

  • My favorite songs are: 1) Echoes 2) Time 3) Comfortably Numb 4) Shine On You Crazy Diamond (All Parts) 5) Dogs 6) Astronomy Domine 7) Cymbaline 8) Wish You Were Here 9) Sheep 10) Wot's... Uh the Deal? 11) Matilda Mother 12) Green Is the Colour 13) Us and Them 14) Fat Old Sun 15) Hey You
  • I personally think that Coming back to life should be way higher.. but ur list is awesome! Its hard to make those choices.. when all the songs kick asses!

  • Money is about their only bad song...and its 7...

  • I disagree. Where is 'Sorrow'?

  • i disagree with this video... all pink floyd rule :D

  • Echoes is not the Number 1 song... i don't know if i could choose my favourite but Comfortably Numb is right up there

  • Great Choice i completely agree. they still rock. Alain from Switzerland

  • money was their worst fucking song

  • Although I don't 100% agree w/ your line up, I dig you putting up such a KICK-ASS compilation!!!! Ga-ga can show her ugly gooch all day. We already forgot about the 1-hit wonders. They can collect their money, but laying down tracks on reel-to-reel w/ SUBLIME timing overrides all to come! I know how hard it is to collegiate pics and vids and music to upload. For that, brother, thank you! -me

  • I miss Atom Heart Mother Suite in the list, but anyway well done.

  • Pink Floyd is one of the few bands that got much better as they got older.

  • overall i think i agree with your top 40. as for your top 10, i would've taken out interestelar override and put one of my turns. But ECHOES number 1 for life!!! CONGRATS!

  • Watch the new video about Pink Floyd:

    [Youtube] /watch?v=umPJZMs_2XE

  • #38, #22, #17 no way.

  • @rockaires #17 is probably the best song on their last album and it has one of Gilmour's best solos.

  • @stef2503 I don't doubt but the last two original albums haven´t the Pink Floyd quality.

    Peace.

  • You put see emily play above dogs?

  • coming back to life has one of, if not the most relaxing guitar solos i have ever herd.

  • One Slip and Sorrow should be there :P

  • #36 makes me go to other world.

  • wtf is this

  • i personaly dont have a favorite pink floyd song there all amazing

  • My favorite album is The Wall and my favorite song on it is Mother. So I think its safe to say my favorite PF song is Mother hands down. It has good meaning.

  • I can't mak really make a list but...

    3.on the turning away

    2.another brick in the wall(pts 1-3)

    1.HEY YOU

  • you couldn't pick just 5? you had to pick 40... because THEY'RE ALL GOOD!!! that really narrows it down guy...

  • you guys need to get your heads in the game

    5. Mother

    4. Comfortably Numb

    3. Have a Cigar

    2. Great Gig in the Sky

    1. US AND THEM

i understand that Floyd has a ton of music (i've listened to everything in it's entirety The Final Cut which i've only listened to a few songs). it's mad hard to put together a list (i struggled even with the top five i listed) but one thing is for sure... us and them is the greatest song ever written period

  • C'est carrément génial !!

  • 5.wish you were here

    4. time

    3. another brick wall

    2. comfortably numb

    1. learning to fly

    my opinion anyway

  • I think every Pink Floyd song is flawless...even Seamus

  • @DBZmetaldude2 I agree :D

  • 1 atom heart mother

    2 sysyphus

    3 matilda mother

    4 nobody home

    5 dogs

  • mi número 1 es atom heart mother.

  • top 5 are quite accurate in my opinion.

  • I like it but it would be better if the song clips were a tiny bit longer

  • @xyroclast

Yes, but videos on YouTube have a maximum length rule you know...

  • wtf sheep on place 28?? lol

  • @dud0r infront of mother !:|

  • Disagree with th Division Bell songs and by the way Which is you Pink Floyd worst song? In my opinion it's Dogs of War.

    Peace.

  • gotta love floyd

  • Duh, first time I realized Syd was holding a Danelectro..

  • Pink Floyd is just one of those bands where when you listen to any song you just get chills from pure kick assness.

  • @surfbanjopinkfloyd

true, you sure cant say that with 2 percent of the bands in this world!

  • very nice video great list only drawback for me is no "on the turning away" i would also have high hopes higher and my personal no1 is one of these days same album

  • I would have rated Have A Cigar and Bike way higher and Fearless isn't even on this list. How is this possible? Very good video regardless. I'd like to see a list of your favorite Syd Barrett songs. Go.

  • wheres lucifer sam fuck

  • great list love the #1 spot dogs us and them and wish you were here would be higher on my list glad you had arnold layne on there thats a really good song once agan great job not only on the list but the slide show that goes along with in is really good

  • 1. Astronomy Domine

    2. High Hopes

    3. Arnold Layne

    4. See Emily play

    5. If

    6. Wish you were here

    7. Brain Damage

    8. Shine on you crazy diamond

    9. Time

    10. The great gig in the sky

  • if you were a true progresive rock fan you would now that bands are not judged on songs but on albums ¬¬...

  • @rafaelb1026

Not necessarily.. Of course, the overall impact of the album is most important, but I think you still can mention the best songs..

  • @Lockefan1 yeah true but i got kind of carried away but still you should make a top 10 progressive rock albums or something but still this is a very nice list

  • @rafaelb1026

thank you very much for that comment, very true

  • @rafaelb1026 i agree with with lockefan. If you were a true progresive rock fan, you would enjoy the music, and not be a dick to all the people that you think you are better than.

  • @tff1293 obviously you didn't read my other comments ¬¬..

i'm not better than anyone so don't judge me i enjoy the music pink floyd is my favorite band so shut up.

  • @rafaelb1026 the point is that it is not in your place to tell other people how to listen to, or rank their favorite music. i know that pink floyd is better listened to in album form, but if someone wants to rank their favorite songs, it doesnt mean they are ar "true" music fan.

  • @tff1293 well yeah whatever i got carried away but whatever mani listen to my bands in album form rather than just 1 song but yeah people have their way of listening to music...

  • @rafaelb1026 keep your fuckin mouth shut fice

  • no matter how you count them down; "echoes" should always be #1!

    good job thanks for posting.

  • my favorite pink floyd songs are echoes comfortably numb marooned coming back to life and us and them

but i love 97% of their songs they are my absolute favorite band

  • Everyone's got their own top Floyd songs, but.. damn I like all these !

  • #38.....coming back to life should be first ! :)

  • How come no Dogs???

  • @jazu40 dogs is 19 what r u talking about?

  • @gmanrios9316 oops:) but I would place dogs in 1st ten.

  • @jazu40 dogs is 19

  • I tried to make a list like that many times - and every time I failed. ;] It's too much difficult for me. Even to decide which album is the best is too hard for me. ;]

  • how come, Coming Back to Life at 38 ?! Marooned is N°1

  • I think all are in first place

  • @nikohandball

i indeed, really good stuff all of it

  • @nikohandball

    me too :)

  • @nikohandball

    me too

  • good ones

echoes i'ts the best song of them

  • Learning to Fly is my number 1

  • DAMN i know this isn't my list but coming back to life at #38? Thats in my top 5 lol

  • i think c.numb is the best song ever, but echoes is a good ''challenger''...in my opinion another brick pt1 deserved to be listed..

  • Good list BUT... Welcome to the machine and marooned :-(

  • My Top: Lucy Leave Paintbox Candy And A Currant Bun See Emily Play Lucifer Sam The Scarecrow Astronomy Domine Interstellar Overdrive Arnold Layne Bike Im a Syd Barret Fan XD
  • The Wall and Darkside are byfar my favorite albums.

  • My top ten: 1: Us and Them 2: Comfortably Numb 3: Mother 4: Echoes 5: The Trial 6: Learning to Fly 7: Hey You 8: The Great Gig in the Sky 9: Take it Back 10: Nobody Home
  • @internetphill i agree but i think that money and breathe in the air should be in there somewhere.

  • I'm sorry but i can never listen to Another Brick in the Wall after Korn disgraced that song. It left scars to me. I will say Echos is perfect for number one, But personally i think The Thin Ice and On the Turning Away should of made the list. And Mother should of been a bit higher. But great song choices for the list. Been listening to Pink Floyd since i was in the Womb. No joke either. Parents are crazy :)

  • @Zodiackiller1789 lol mine are the some (parents). there well cool m8 i have seen them only once in fyrnoord fc stadium in holland nice 4 days in amsterdam then to concert absolutly* magic :)

  • @Zodiackiller1789

another brick in the wall is not ruined, ya maybe korns cover is terrible just like everything else they do

but if the jonas brothers play a white les paul that doesnt make white les pauls a gay guitar

  • @Zodiackiller1789 By God yes, On the Turning Away should've made it.

Personally, I'd take Bike off the list.

  • @Zodiackiller1789 Amen to that mate. Ever since that blasfemy,,, Korn officially became my most hated band ever.

  • In my opinion, "Shine on you crazy diamond" (the complete song) is the best Pink Floyd song. By the way, "Echos" at N.1 is still ok. I also think that "Sheeps" and "Dogs" deserves a better position. ..for sure higher than "See Emily play". "Us and them" should be at least in the top ten. PINK FLOYD RULES!

  • wow Echos at number one, good choice lad. i was reaching the end and wondering where is echos

  • Oh no my friend, "Sheep" at 28 th position and "Dogs" after "See Emily paly"?

"Echoes" at first position is ok!!!

    Pink Floyd is a DOGMA

  • Have you ever heard Moonhead? You might enjoy it. But I agree 110% with Echoes being #1. Best Floyd song ever, especially from Pompeii.

  • i rmember seeing this vid almost a year ago when i first started to actually listen to them and i was wth is up with this list. Now i see the list, and wow its almost how i would put my top Floyd songs. great vid and by when will you be done with your new 40 top songs?

  • great work, my top 40 is diferent but they are all there...

  • Astronomy domine would have been in the top 10 on my list i think :)

  • my favorite 1 wish you were here 2 comfortably numb 3 another brick in the wall 4 money 5 breathe 6 one of these days 7 time 8 run like hell 9 echoes 10 learling to fly
  • I love the bass in Echoes. Roger Waters did great.

  • my favorites: Comfortably numb time echos shine on you crazy diamond nobody home brain damage/eclipse another brich in the wall part 2 intalstellar overdrive pigs is there anybody out there wish you were here. but pin k floyd is just awsome. all theyr albums are amazing.
  • Thanks for putting this together. Definitely hard to narrow it down! For my top ten I would have: 1. Shine on You Crazy Diamond 2. Breath 3. Time 4. Nobody's Home 5. Mother 6. Brain Damage 7. Wish You Were Here 8. Echoes 9. Money (7/8 time = killer!) 10. Comfortably Numb Just my opinion. Maybe I'm heavy on Dark Side of the Moon songs, but that's the best album ever imo.
  • My favourites change depending on my mood, but time and again I return to Comfortably Numb, Time, Breath and Wish You Were Here. Have loved the mighty PF for over 30 years and I know they were going long before I was old enough to get into them. Without question the greatest band...period!

  • too each ther own... just play dark side meddle and animals

  • Anyone know the name of that instrument in the picture during Breathe?

  • Nice list.

My favourite songs by Pink Floyd are (not in order):

    - Comfortably Numb

    - Hey you

    - Shine on you crazy diamond

    - Welcome to the machine

  • My top 10 1. Learning to fly 2. Comfortably numb 3.welcome to the machine 4. Brain Damage 5. Run like hell 6. Have a cigar 7. Hey you 8. Another brick in the wall 9. Money 10. Dark side of the moon
  • 1-Wish You Were Here

    2-Comfortably Numb

    3-Hey You

4-Another Brick in the Wall Part 2

    5-Us and Them

    6-Time

    7-Money

    8-Mother

    9-Money

    10-Welcome to the Machine

  • I would not have included "A Saucerful of Secrets", "Keep Talking", "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2", "Interstellar Overdrive", and "Learning to Fly".

  • 1# have a cigar

  • nice list man! here's my top 10: 1. Nobody's home 2. echoes 3. dogs 4. sorrow 5. high hopes 6. marooned 7. Keep talking 8. Welcome to the Machine 9. Us and Them 10. Wish you were here trust me, making this list was harder than it seems because all pink floyd songs are number 1 to me
  • (cont) By the way, Obscured By Clouds wasn't all that good, and I was not disappointed to not see any of those songs. The Final Cut had some good stuff. Maybe if this was a top-50 list then that would have covered it all. So other than the exclusion of On The Turning Away (which is top-20 material), this was an awesome list (and pretty good order as well).

  • VERY GOOD LIST Lockefan. I have been a life-long Floyd Fan and I was glad to see a lot of the old songs up there high on the list, especially ECHOES being #1. Totally agree with that. There is one song I was surprised to not make you list, and that is On The Turning Away. Even though I favor the older Floyd over the newer stuff (especially since Roger left), On The Turning Away has one of David's greatest solos of all time (rivals Comfortably Numb).

  • homie forgot about the whole obscured by clouds album.

  • when i was little, i remember my parents would play pink floyd all the time in the car. i absolutly hated it because i didnt get. it was so weird. but now, i love it!! i want to get a whole bunch more pink floyd, but i dont have enough money right now. i only have 8 albums. by the way, im 13.

  • i like echoes, interstellar overdrive, arnold layne, time, flaming and your possible pasts.

  • my very favourite songs are 1 shine on your crazy diamond 2 marroneed 3 wish you were here 4 another brick on the wall 5 us and them 6 money 7 breathe 8 comfortably numb 9 hey you 10 time
  • Pretty much spot on. Excellent job.

  • my personal top ten would be 1-Great Gig In The Sky 2-Take It Back 3-Learning To Fly 4-Wish You Were Here 5-Coming Back To Life 6-Comfortably Numb 7-Run Like Hell 8-Shine On You Crazy Diamond 9-Breathe 10-Another Brick In The Wall I'm 14 lol.
  • Wish You Were Here Must be in first

  • Muy buen trabajo!

  • Atom Heart Mother Suite is a Masterpiece!

And The Narrow Way part 1-3.

  • dude... I SOOOO disagree. the #1 Pink Floyd song is DEFINETLY NOT Echoes are you serious? Like wtf man, Comfortably Numb is the best Pink Floyd song of all time

  • @chordize I don't like The Wall.I like the old Floyd.

  • @090878tinus Hey you can like whatever you want, but personally i HATE the early stuff. Syd Barrett really just annoyed me

  • He probably meant it in terms of song structure. Echoes is almost like a symphony in the sense that it has different movements. Listen to Gilmour's version of Echoes from his "Live In Gdansk" cd/dvd. Totally amazing!!

  • in my opinion, the best Pink Floyd songs are: 1) Echoes 2)Comfortably numb 3)Shine on you crazy diamond 4)One of these days 5)Astronomy domine 6)High hopes 7)Set the controls for the heart of the sun 8)Sorrow 9)A saucerful of secrets (Ummagumma version) 10)The Nile song
  • i'm sorry mate but you need the turning away and goodbye blue sky in there but good list my top 5 would be #1 comfortably numb #2 coming back to life #3 the turning away #4 wish you were here #5 learning to fly

  • Yeah echoes N*1 ! ABSOLUTELY man love

  • hey what was the song in the beginning credits it went like "I'm just a new boy"

  • "young lust" from the wall

  • Should remove a few of those songs and add Any Colour you like, A Pillow of Winds, Fearless, Childhood's End, Goodbye Blue Sky, and The Narrow Way, part 1. And also Us and Them should at least be in the Top 10, listen to some of those demo's, amazing.

  • also:what do you want from me

  • you forget1cluster one2echoe 2 meddley3childhood end4marroned5embryo6careful with that axe

    4. Brain Damage

    5. Comfortably Numb

  • its good. Time should be higher, and echoes should be below comfortably numb

  • Hey everybody, give this person a break. It's his OWN list. He has probably heard all of the Floyd songs, and just narrowed it down to his version of the best songs. He may have missed some songs you all were wanting to see on the list. But you can't enjoy the songs that are on this list anyways, then your really not Pink Floyd fans. So Lockefan1, I enjoyed the list.

  • @19tc85 meh I wanted to hear more songs thx to this vid I got more intersting songs! xD

  • 1.Shine On You Crazy Diamond

    2.Time
