I did my first tattoo last week and the number one thing I would say, is to try and relax, because if you are thinking that your going to mess up you can get shaky. :)

@FUCKXVXSCENEKIDS clean? sorry redneck a ligter and some alcohol dosent cut in my industry, the only way i use something more than once is if i throw it in an autoclave and then an ultrasonic cleaner. and obviously you can put a rubber cord in an autoclave so i always bag it and seal it. i dont need to clean my surfaces (i do) i cover them with plastic wrap, then the dental paper then seal it down with blue tape. then when im done i throw the material away and wipe it with a powerful germicide.
@LegacyTattoos I dont clean my anything with a lighter and alcohol big guy. I use disposable tubes. I cover my surfaces with dental paper/bibs/plastic wrap, just like you. Then I clean EVERYTHING with germicide. Including my machine and cord.
@FUCKXVXSCENEKIDS germicides can't kill everything, thats why you put the cover on so it even further reduces from having contact with any contaminates. just saying, bags and covers are where it's at.
@SimplyDestiny018 yes it does matter thats not the last time he's gonna use that machine or clipcord so it matters a lot, it's not only for his protection it's for the others that could come in contact with that machine, aso just because it's on his self dosent mean it's not gross. that's like me pissing in bathtub and swimming in it and saying "it's not gross because it's it's mine"

@greatbeartiling .yo im having a little better luck.heres what i did made sure i had the proper tube with the proper needle made sure the tube was clean and ot clogged.then i played with that tension screw for like 4 hrs til it started to work to my liking.this was with the outliner havent touched the shader/filler yet..[good luck man]

Some people judge, but i say 'Why not?'... I did same thing i inked my own skin on my knee. Felt much less nervous than if i'd be inking somebody else. Of course some problems in couple of places, but nothing un-fixable. Actually i seem to enjoy it too much, 'cause it came out better than i expected. Done ok,my hands shook like f**k on my first,only thing i would say is start nearest to yourself at bottom of stencil so not to distort the stencil with your hands before you got the line in,and if you stop in middle of line start a bit back where you already got line in so you dont notice the join.

dude, your artist friend should have you riding the tube instead of controling needle depth by hand. In other words, just enough needle hanging out so that you can press the tube tip to skin and just slide it along. That way the shakes wont cause blowouts.

when your shaking that bad, sometimes you can stretch the skin with the back of your left and hold your right with your left hand, i found that helped me when my hand shook
and i love the design, savage skull, you can never have a bad skull, the worse it looks, the better it looks, lols :D

@norteno209x4 yep, thats a good trick, it makes it harder to guage depth, but makes it far easier to do nice clean lines, easier to see exactly where the needle is
yeah gettin them jitters sucks when u self ink but that's a decent job done. Good design choice too because a few shaky lines aint outta place so much on a skull like that but overall that's pretty smooth lookin curves u did. key thing is to not hold ur breath and tense up trying to fight shakes. breathe deep and relax
I'm not a professional but I think that you ware moving that machine too slow and that damages the skin more...btw that skull is sick,I really like it......

a first timer should not hang that much needle out you have no sense of depth riden the tube is safer . that aside you did an outline . now do the next tat without a the outline
this is pretty good =] i remember when i did my first tatt on myself i was shaking too...accept i almost erased the hole stencil and had to freestyle it but it still came out good...yeah always start from the bottom up.
@yomamasofat87 what was your first tattoo of mine was the predator and i erased half as well because my guns was gushing so much it's actually still half finished i'm going to improve my skill before i try to free style that shit though.

if youre right handed a good idea is to start in the bottom right corner of the tattoo gradually moving up to left top. that way you dont smear or wipe away your stencil.

He is tattooing his own leg, you can't blame him for shaking. It doesn't mean he would shake doing it on someone else.

when your shaking that bad, sometimes you can stretch the skin with the back of your left and hold your right with your left hand, i found that helped me when my hand shook
and i love the design, savage skull, you can never have a bad skull, the worse it looks, the better it looks, lols :D

@norteno209x4 yep, thats a good trick, it makes it harder to guage depth, but makes it far easier to do nice clean lines, easier to see exactly where the needle is

yeah gettin them jitters sucks when u self ink but that's a decent job done. Good design choice too because a few shaky lines aint outta place so much on a skull like that but overall that's pretty smooth lookin curves u did. key thing is to not hold ur breath and tense up trying to fight shakes. breathe deep and relax

took 5 seconds and you lay your arm on it ? did you scrub up be fore you gloved up?
a first timer should not hang that much needle out you have no sense of depth riden the tube is safer . that aside you did an outline . now do the next tat without a the outline

this is pretty good =] i remember when i did my first tatt on myself i was shaking too...accept i almost erased the hole stencil and had to freestyle it but it still came out good...yeah always start from the bottom up.

if youre right handed a good idea is to start in the bottom right corner of the tattoo gradually moving up to left top. that way you dont smear or wipe away your stencil.
