Waaay too much emphasis on the person & not the dog. The dog had some great moves, but I prefer to see the owner standing still and having the dog dance around them... not the other way around. Half the time the dog wasn't doing anything and the woman was dancing... and the person should never have more elaborate dance moves than the dog (or be the main focus at all, for that matter). The dog also didn't show that much enthusiasm and had less natural rhythm than I'd expect from a poodle.
I think this was quite good. Everyone can't be in advanced level at once, and we don't know what class this dog competes in. It was'nt only basic moves this dog did, and it kept contact with his owner all the time, wagging his tail... I can't see why people should put down this girl that much, just because she try to be Shakira... She is lucky to be able to od that, not all of us could do it sp succesfully, lol. Freestyle is about having fun, and these two had fun.
hehe the dog was basically just walking along the chick's side saying: "heyy look at that pretty dance... yeah I taught her to do it. impressive, huh? oh here goes, I gotta reward her again, she wont work otherwise." *stands up and puts paws against owner's hands
I can't even train my dog to do weave poles, let alone leg weaves... this has taken a lot of trianing. The dog is very focused and happy too. I hope that the people criticizing this at least have a dog who can freestyle better than this.
to me, it looks like she used this as a chance to shake her ass. She seems to have forgotten that its more about the dog than her.
Most of what she did was simple tricks, which can be difficult to teach, but not really noteworthy. I'll admit that there were a couple of things that were more complicated.
Overall, not a fantastic display of canine freestyle. But I think with work and experience they have quite a bit of potential.
@pyrbaby I totally agree that the owner wanted to just shake her ass and the dog was just walking alongside. This dog and owner have got NOTHING on the Chilean dancing dog "Carrie", check out merengue dancing dog, its a golden retreiver that will leave you speechless.
Oh, the dog had some good moves and was well-trained. It just didn't seem to be enjoying itself (it perked up a bit in the second half, though). I'm training my poodle in freestyle, and while she knows some of those moves and is working on others, she visibly LOVES it and it focused and enthusiastic. This dog was just "meh".
My problem is that the owner was obviously using the routine to show herself off and not the dog. Way too much focus on her. I think the DOG has great potential.
It's hard to train any dog to do simple tricks so it's hard to train them to do harder tricks, so what if there were not many hard tricks in there, it still took a lot of time teaching all of this, i think the dog did very well! :D
I think it could of been alot better...and I agree she is showin herself off more then the dog...the dog is just like there with a few moves thrown in but it wasnt HORRIBLE
im no expert but that dog didnt seem to be enjoying that at all :/
Usually the dogs bounce all over the place, excited to show off their moves. This one was just going through the motions it seemed :/

That was cute! Who cares about technical difficulty and whatever! Isn't the whole point to give your a dog fun job and just enjoy each other?

She really was showing herself off rather than the dog. Good point.

pretty good but im sure in the future with more time and training they will be great

I think she did pretty good, actually. Some people don't understand how difficult it is to train a dog to do this, until they've tried. :]
She's probably just beginning -- both dog and master look fairly young. I'll bet this team does extremely well in the future.

"A" for effort. That's good poodle dancing in my opinion! Thank you for the Shakira dance...

No way. Most poodles have much better "rhythm"... that dog showed no enthusiasm. Unfortunately, poodles are rare in freestyle, which is a shame.

Isn't it marvelous to see an owner and a dog having such a good time together?
Heck, I'm a belly dancer AND a dog trainer, and I doubt I'd be able to pull this off yet! :)

The dog didn't look like it was having a good time at all... it looked fairly bored, especially during the first half.

I agree with mikeba8. True freestyle is making you and the dog look good as a team.
