  • 0:28 The way you 'fuck' me LOL

  • Best old school song of all time. LEGENDS

  • G. C. Cameron is now the lead singer for the Temps.

  • Written by Stevie Wonder and Syreeta !

  • Alpha Wann & Nekfeu, pour les connaisseurs.

  • It's a shame.......they weren't inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame today!!!

  • it's a shame that the taste of music in the american public is in the sewer

i can picture the spinners kicking justin bieber all over the stage.

  • For some reason the stage looks identical to Carl Carlton's Everlasting Love and Freda Payne's Band of Gold, is there some connection here?

  • @ednoroirika

if by love you mean disgusted and vomits in my mouth by your gorilla appearance everytime i see one of you then yes i do "love"

  • Classic, GC is a nice guy too, lives across the street brought me a home grown melon from his farm in Mississippi out of neighborly kindness...

  • Nice song

  • its just that the majority of people are familiar with lead singer of the hit version

  • What amazes me about this performance is the vocal dexterity of the singer / he's like 2 singers in one / I like this better than the original / this is a case of a CLASSIC song not being RE-MIXED but "RE-MASTERED"

  • @druhbe1996 ,interesting because he's the original lead singer of this song

  • One of the best... Thumbs up! And leave the racist BS in the grave!

  • Niggers

  • @laisseoublier -- I had a Nigger call me "Brother" and it blew me away. These guys say that to each other all the time but I never in my life heard a Brother say that to a White dude. Then I realized he was right. If you're a Christian, then they're your brothers-in-Christ.

Anyway, I dig this song. I have to come back to it often. It's one of my favorites, I guess, because it reminds me of my "glory days" when I was young, dumb, and in love with some beautiful young women.

  • @laisseoublier you love us!!!

  • It's a shame that 5 people disliked it!

  • This is a classic! And its good to see that G.C. Cameron is alive and well, and still has it!!

While he did his thing on the record when it came out AND in this live performance, my fav song (he sang) would be: "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday".

Thanks for sharing your great talent with us Mr. Cameron!

  • i just discovered this AND I CANT GET ENOUGH OF PLAYING THIS SONG lol

  • Shellybellysf..This is one of my fav's from summer 1970, yes he was MG's BIL mjjcng..we should all be honored ns0710 thx

  • I love this song and I am 11also I've got the music tast of a 40 year old woman

  • @TheDurrants Yes! Good taste!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • This must have been after Phillipe left. I remember when this song first came out. It seems that back then, record companies were competing with the J5.

  • @nutothis1 True, but G.C. was in the Spinners BEFORE Phillippe. G.C. sang lead on this original Motown hit "IT'S A SHAME" . When the group left Motown, G.C. couldn't go because he was still under contract to Motown, so he recommended his cousin, Phillip Walker (AKA Phillippe Wynne) , to replace him in the group.

  • Hard to believe that they were once a part of MOTOWN; What, they couldn't compete with The four Tops ane The Temptations? Man, to be in that trouble. Nice tune, by the way.

  • PIMPALICIOUS SOUNDS

  • did they perform this live in 1970? i'd like to see that

  • wow he sounds great!!!

  • it's truly remarkable that the same 5 guys who sang on "it's a shame" r here on this PBS special performing together

  • where did G.C> Cameron comment AT?HE STILL SOUNDZ GOOD>

  • Yes dey can touch da spinners

  • R Kelly and Usher can't touch The Spinners.

  • did you know the gc was also in the temptations?

  • @mjjcng8958 Yup!!

  • @ns0710 i had no ides until recently

  • @mjjcng8958 I was always wondering why they seemed the same to me.

  • @littleyuna92 yep and before he was a musicians he was in the marines and served in vietnam

  • @mjjcng8958

Not that I have ever heard and I grew up with the Temps. What year??

  • @skipper8257 i think it was in the 90's. he was also marvin gaye's brother n law through anna gordy

  • I'm 13, and people think I'm crazy for listening to this music.

But I love this type of music.

  • @MissHeart13 You are not crazy! You JUST LIKE GOOOOOD MUSIC>

  • @MissHeart13: b encouraged and listen to what your heart wants to...its only music! I remember when this song came out and my dad and uncles played it OUT. Its a song that catches you instantly from the first 8 notes...you're IN :-)

  • That's it!

  • Minute 2:03 "IN THE GROOVE"!

  • Wow baby boomers in the front swaying around like an army of zombies

  • music like this makes me see why i always have the feeling i was born in the wrong era.

This song is lovely and this man is a beast singing!!!

  • Im 18, i knew this song when i was 14. i love this type of music :D

  • What I meant was the Motown sound....and they definitely had that!!!!

  • this is a session bassist with the band shown but check out the original you will hear the great james jamerson bassist on most of mown's gratest hits.

  • @mrbrownbear3 Yes, Jamerson was the original bassist and I grew up hearing him AND seeing him a few times with Marvin Gaye live! This session bassist (here) is a great player who does this cut justice!!

  • @TheCaptbob1 u re one lucky human being :P:P,but i wouldnt have liked to grow up the same time as James Jamerson, cuz i d have quit the bass :(

  • Does anyone know when this was recorded?? And where? Please!?

  • @edie19591 It's on a DVD titled "More Rhythm Love and Soul", produced by PBS. You can find it online.

  • Does anyone know who the bassist is? This guy smokes this cut! Great playing.

  • hey man que buen video gracias por colgarlo en la web

  • gc cameron still agreat and also a once a lifetime reunion of the original group

  • LOVE THIS - GC ROCKS!!!!

  • Is that Ngudu Chancelor on drums?

  • GC Cameron was (and still is) a bad man.

  • *yours (as in taste)

  • Minute 2:04, She got the groove!!! HA!

  • Philippé Wynne was better, at least he let some of the others sing to, not this glory tonker..

  • @rhaivaen

Do you know what the hell you are talking about. One of the greatest soul singer ever and your complaining.

  • @skipper8257 We all have our own tastes, and your ain't mine, taste can't be debated anyway, respect me with my tastes/ opinion, then I will respect yours..

  • The Spinners are great. Mr. Cameron is one of my favorite singers. The Temptations aren't as good without him.

  • Imagine what life woulda been like without The Spinners, or James Brown, or Jackie Wilson, or The Stylistics, or The Funk Brothers. It wouldna been a life worth livin'.

We're blessed to have been witness.

  • Must you sit and snap for a piece of music so sweet and rhythmic as this one?

Get UP! The music will take it from there.

  • IMHO, The original recording of "It's a Shame" is one of the greatest pop vocal performances of all time. A voice like that can make me happy and bring a tear to my eye at the same time. Just as impressive - he's still go it! Keep the faith!

  • The Spinners it takes a fool. Where is that track!

  • @Generalkillaman ayye mii favorite song by them...you can download it from frostwire, if youtube dont have it

  • Its A Shame for the music of today!

  • Probably (one of) Stevie Wonder's best song, gotta love it :)

    Thanks for posting

  • Incredible. Amazing. Incredible and Amazing. Wow. Geez, I miss the 50s, 60s & 70s.

  • Goota love those old 70 groups...killing those steps!

  • This is great! The bassist is ON to say the least, best bassist who backed the Spinners.

  • Seventies Motown---the Spinners, Stylistics, O'Jays, Temptations, etc ( How many do you want me to name???) .---doesn't get any better than this ( and I'm a white 49 year old male, in case you're wondering)....

  • CAPTAIN SCOTT:

"Seventies Motown---the Spinners, Stylistics, O'Jays, Temptations, etc..."

    >> Hate to bust your bubble, Scott,

but The Stylistics and The O'Jays were never Motown artists.

    > Professor DLC

  • this sound alot like "Affirmation" by George Benson

  • This song always makes me feel happy..... Thanx Guys!

  • Sing, dude!

  • It's a shame the people are sitting in their seats! Good grief folks..off your lazy bums..let's show the gentlemen what they deserve!

  • by far this is one of the spinners best! all these years i wondered why the song didnt sound quite like the 1970 version, i knew it wasnt phillipe's voice. so it was g.c. cameron. remarkable voice! brother is so black he is blue! great vid! thank g.c.!

  • wow thanks for this post brings back memories of my childhood when music was relateable smile!!!!

  • che bellaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

  • theres a song like this made in the 90s i think and its got women singing the chorus and a guy rapping, does anyone knows tha name of the artists? i reaally wanna know

  • @FuckDaMedia I think it's Monie Love. I could be wrong, but you may want to start there.

  • @london4120 - Monie sampled this indeed

  • Love the Spinners forever.

  • This is great, these are the five singers who originally sung this song. G.C. stayed at motown, while the other 4 left the label, motown wouldnt let G.C. go with them, they kept him as a solo act.

  • oop's typo...lol

  • thank you guys you sure know ur music

  • HENRY FAMBROUGH also has a GREAT VOICE...but no one ever gives HIM any credit either. He sang co- lead with Phillippe on HOW COULD I LET YOU GET AWAY, and half of I GOTTA MAKE IT ALL ALONE and AIN'T NO PRICE ON HAPPINESS, among others.

  • @williamg2552 Henery is that the tall one the deeper voice?

  • Comment removed

  • @williamg2552 ur right he did have a good voice and so did all the rest of the spinners including 1245 pervis jackson bass voice. but you know that bobby and phillipe got all of the credit because they were lead singers and they traded leads on numerous songs. but they all had great voices including gc cameron who had like six different voices and can still hit a high note! but u did make a good point. peace.

  • thank you

  • G.C. CAMERON and PHILLIPE are COUSINS. GC recommended him for the group, because he couldn't leave Motown when the other Spinners left ...He was still under contract

  • @williamg2552 I never knew he was in Motown

  • YEP. G.C. Cameron recorded with the group at Motown. He sang lead on a couple of songs, like the big hit, IT'S A SHAME, and the smaller hit WE'LL HAVE IT MADE . But Bobby was still the main lead.

  • absolutely Love this video

  • I love it!!!

  • bravo gc cameron awsome performance! and people forget that bobby smith sang most of the spinners classics along with philipe wynn, but philipe got most of the credit. all three lead singers had and still had awesome voices! RIP PHILIPE WYNN.

  • @mbaker21969 which one is philipe is that the one t=sing rubber band

  • @jeridolove yes phillipe did sing rubber band man. he also sang how could i let u get away, one of a kind love affair, love dont love nobody, sadie, ghetto child. alot of songs bobby smith opened the lead and phillipe finished it for example could it be im falling in love, bobby opened that song and phillipe closed it classic song for both lead singers.

  • bobby smith Is he the Light skin guy which one is bobby Smith?

  • @jeridolove no bobby is the guy in the middle.bobby sanged ill be around, games people play.then came you.

  • @jeridolove no bobby smith is the guy in the middle. bobby did ill be around, games people play, and then came you with dionne worrick.

  • @jeridolove also along with could it be im falling in love bobby also sanged the first couple of verses of mighty love then phillipe finished the rest of the song, what a classic!

  • I thought Phillppe Whynne was the soulfull years .. LONG LIVE GC CAMERON
