I Have a question posed to both sides there are some 6,000 registered hospitals in the US lets say just for shits sake there are another 6,000 unregistered hospitals. that's 12,000 hospitals. Now there are some 301 million registered citizen in the US and Between another 20-40 million illegals. How are hospitals going to be able to handle a big influx of people say from flue season. Any takers?
The same way they handle it now: One person at a time. But those without insurance wait until they are really sick then show up at ERs, a much more expensive way to get health care. Give everybody a medicare option, and people will go for preventitive care.

Are you listening to yourself.Politicians are rich assholes, but they are NOWHERE near the assholes that get paid by the profits they make from their COMPANY. Do you not understand how a company functions??? And do you really not see how that directly results in all the problems were currently having. Profits are being seeked, rather then service. Your right, they do want to get re-elected,.... and that's why they want to provide a successful service.

Not all politicians but most. I also agree that business makes assholes out of everybody but it is part of the job description. its all about supply,demand and the competition. But remeber the evil rich people we are demonizing supply most of the jobs in this country. Having run a fairly succesful small business for about 10 years I know a bit about it. If we make some rules to ensure everybody gets the insurance they pay for, We wouldn't be in this mess.

Do you really still not get my point? EXACTLY, ITS ABOUT "SUPPLY, DEMAND AND THE COMPETITION". I want someone accountable to me, and everyone around me. Theres a chance in government but, when large sums of profit is involved rules will ALWAYS BEND and break. This country wont allow enough governmental control of the private sector to insure anything..

The movie is not about health care but the fact we are damn near broke as a country look it up. Accountable to you how about you switch to your reps home page and start asking for laws on accountability instead of Gov take overs and what makes you people. This is the BIG problem with this country we are lazy and want everything done and handed to us. We live in a capitalist society, Surprise!! Our free market system has not formed healthcare how it needs to be, I dont care if your a fucking fascist neocon or a communist, every thinking(and that's important here) human being can agree with this. We pay some of the worldest lowest taxes and yet we now find ourselves as one of the few 1st world countries still in a recession. These countries provided bigger bailouts, have national health care, an again pay more taxes, yet you still wont get it.

Unless you like the government making your health decisions for you. No where in the world do you have a health-care system like ours, it is second to none. Medical care outcomes in single-payer countries is better than in the USA. Infant mortality is less, for instance. We already have rationed care. If you can't pay, you don't get care.
George Bush said health care is available to all- go to an emergency room. Try walking into an ER and asking for a routine screening test.
We are a first world country, we should have health care as a RIGHT of citizenship, like other first-world countries. Nobody should go bankrupt due to health care costs.

Our health care system is second to many. We pay more for health care per capita, and have poorer outcomes in infant mortality, heart disease, and more. Citizens of Canada and other countries with universal health care consistantly say they would not trade for America's system. We have a Pay or Die system. And even if you pay, the insurance companies look for reasons to deny care. Right now, you have a CEO deciding what care you can have by deciding what will be paid. Regardless of your doc.

I Have a question posed to both sides there are some 6,000 registered hospitals in the US lets say just for shits sake there are another 6,000 unregistered hospitals. that's 12,000 hospitals. Now there are some 301 million registered citizen in the US and Between another 20-40 million illegals. How are hospitals going to be able to handle a big influx of people say from flue season. Any takers?

The same way they handle it now: One person at a time. But those without insurance wait until they are really sick then show up at ERs, a much more expensive way to get health care. Give everybody a medicare option, and people will go for preventitive care.
By the way, the medicare-for-all program won't cover illegal aliens. They will still have to go to emergency rooms, and you will still be paying their bills.

Half the people in the US don't pay any taxes, why shouldn't they want free health care now... duhhh Plus congress will never use the same health care system as the people. Maybe I am wrong, doctors will be so overwhelmed with the millions flooding in for every little thing that maybe Congress will have to take a number... LOL now that would be wonderful.

We want our citizens to have health care so people with contagious conditions such as TB are not wandering the streets spreading disease.
Healthy people are more productive.
Medicare and the Veterans Administration are government health care programs, and they work quite well. The dollars going into those programs go to health care, not to $12 million dollar salaries, golden parachutes, and dividends for investors. CEO's earn those salaries denying health care claims.

The freedom of choice will come when YOU decide if you want to keep the plan you have or buy into a public option, something like Medicare. Only funded, without Bush's poison pill (illegal to bargain with big pharma over the cost of medications) and without the donut hole.
Right now, your choice is buy insurance or go bare and take your chances. Unless you are medicare age (and can afford the supplementals) or poor enough to get on Medicaid. For real choice, get a public option.

Can't imagine why you'd like having a lifetime cap on your care, random refusal of payment, getting tossed off the roles if you make a claim, or having 34% or more of each premium dollar go toward CEO salary or dividend payments to stockholders, but if that's what you like, you just keep that program!
