Both Guergis and her husband Rahim Jaffer were stars in the conservative party (even though Jaffer just lost an election) _until_ it was revealed that Jaffer had all sorts of shady business dealings with mafia-esque types where he claimed he had the ear of the PM. Jaffer was also pulled over with some coke and Guergis threw a hissy fit at an airport. No doubt her and her husband are dirty but I'm sure there's lots more dirt we don't know about.

His grandmother said she thought it was in Kenya but there are also stories in Hawaii newspapers that he was born there and he released something that wasnt a birth certificate but said he was born there. So giving tax breaks to rich and business helps them and poor out. Everyone is richer. Now with programs to support poor, elderly and disabled right now we are in huge debt. This is because gov has been spending more then they make. The programs they would cut now would not ruin poor, elderly and disables.

Lets say I give you money for not working. Your getting money for not being productive. This causes no more wealth then there already was & would make u dependent on me. Another reason I do not like government programs is because they usually do not work well, take more money away from people, and have a tendency to not work.

But with any program or business model it has to be tweak with time! @Viracocha711 There use to be 16 workers for every retiree but now there is only two workers for every retiree. The system is busting. There is a problem with it. Medicare does cover seniors but its not that great. Its a one size fits all idea, money is a problem with it especially with the baby boomers not going into retirement age. They are rationing. It will take longer to get the money for an individual.

If they wanted insurance they would choose which company, and what kind of coverage they wanted. It takes much longer to get cared for then here, they have to ration the money, and people have gotten worse or even died because of the inefficiency. The old and very sick see less of the money and private insurance is very expensive there. So the only option is an inefficient system to choose from. Sure everything is basically paid for but you get what u pay for.

@Viracocha711 With universal health care it is super cheap for one person. When things are this cheap and advertised as "free" people will tend to use it more. The more use the more money it costs. This creates more rationing, more crowded hospitals, longer waits. Also gov tends to not run a business well. Already in USA health care costs are one of the most expensive things. Even Obama said this. They are cutting back on medicare and medicaid. More rationing and waits are already here.

If the market is free and people choose their insurance company people would shop around for the best price and quality. Having more competition will bring cost down and people shopping for the right coverage for themselves will increase quality, lower price, and be able to pick the right coverage for them.

But if you need expensive care afterward you are on your own. If you get cancer you will not have access to the expensive care needed. If you need an organ transplant you won't get one. America is ranked dead last in the top 11 richest nations & 25th in world when it comes to health care!

The reason is when I was 24yrs old I thought the same way if you can't afford the HC then get a job. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! I have a friend with a LAW DEGREE was making +$150,000 got Cancer his insurance dropped him a 1yr into his treatment due to how expensive it was & now can't work & is DYING!
