Mom had the album with the hot rod on it and I thought it was the coolest record in the world. We lived in a town of about 1000 people so records were hard to come by. Most were mono too. I still have the Venutres in Space and Telstar, and found Twist With The Ventures at Goodwill after finding a very clean copy of Rush's first album, The covers are shot, but the vinyl is good. The HH Scoot sounds great. I am sure glad we kept our old Marantz stuff. New stereos pretty much suck. Fan since age 2!
@Satchmoeddie Awesome story and I agree modern solid state stereos are crap, or any solid state - unless you pay serious $. The new tube amps are even more $.
Most of my records did come from Goodwill, some from Georgetown Records in Seattle (where Pearl Jam hangs out) and the rest are from my parents. Overall, GW is best for vinyl scores.
