It KILLS ME to think that such great artists like Greg Lake are still breathing and yet we dont see or hear anything from them for years (!!) ? Its time for the REAL MUSICIANS to BRING BACK THE "HAPPY" in good Rock N Roll -- by "happy" I mean QUALITY !! EVERYTHING today is so fucking pretentious & cliche'd it makes me fucking SICK!!
I was there that night in august of 1977 at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal...I still remember the sound of the strings ringing in the large stadium..it was magic.
This was a best of high music in 70's ... before the age, we said only three type : ELP (Emerson Lake and Palmer) ... my favourite song : C'est La Vie
To jest jedna z moich ukochanych piosenek, z czasów mlodości. Wspaniąly głos Lake'a. Chłopaki potrafili twozryc niesamowite klimaty. Emerson miał kapitalne pomysły, czerpiąc z klasyki. Polecam utwory: Take A Peble,Lucky Man, From The Beginning> Wielkie!!!
What a video, the studio (radio) version was Lake solo. I like the words of this far more than his Father Christmas one and the band's Karn Evil 9 which has certain lines which are totally sacreligious if you pay attention, in the slightest. Musically those gys were amazing, a seamless blend of classical and rock, when at their finest. "Hoedown" is a perfect example, and, I understand, was -more or less- an adaptation of an Aaron Copeland composition. Too cool.
...a beautiful song from a great era in music.
