You poor baby! We non-Dramamine types can be brutally humorous in said situation. On behalf of all of us, I'd like to apologize... and make your lunch. Headcheese and squid on rye, sound good? ; )
I love the ocean, but if I go deep sea fishing it's a crap shoot whether I'll get sick or not! I love it when the boat's underway, with the wind in my face. But when we stop and the swells come up, sometimes my last meal does, too. Of course that's just extra chum for the fish! ;^>
I don't think I looked quite like a martian. But one friend thought it was pretty funny. He had a cast iron stomach, and was born with sea legs, I guess. He said things like, "how about I fix you up with a nice peanut butter and lard sandwich?" After which I started looking for Raaaaaaaaalph over the side.
A fine reading of my favorite poem. I have a collection of Masefield's poems and it is very satisfying to pull it off my library shelf and getre-acquainted with his colorful verse. His poems beautifully capture the era of big sailing ships.
Wonderful read. I used to go to the beach everyday when I lived in Key West. I especially loved catching either the sunrise or sunset. The sounds and visions of the grandeur of the ocean and its surroundings can become addictive and satisfying.
Thanks for reading this. For some reason, YouTube is not telling me when you post new videos. I will just have to keep coming back to see what your up to. I listened to the sung version as well...your voice was amazing!
Perhaps but still you have a fine set of pipes for reading. AND, if I may so without sounding too proud, you have a great ear for the writing of others. :-)
Larry, thanks for this. I think I have Mariner's blood in me. Either that or it's just this Pastafarian patch I wear. lol Cool reading. Thanks for the comment on my son's vid.
You should think about doing readings for a living. We have a theatre close to where I live where people do just that. It is called the Jonesborough Storey Telling Centre.
What a beautiful poem! I love John Masefield, he is a brilliant poet.

Ha! I used to cook on long-range sportfishing boats. We loved guys like you! They're real quiet and their green color always brought us luck! ;P

Thanks, Dale. I'm only sad that the singing voice is pretty much gone now.

That's very kind of you. I do enjoy reading aloud. I may just see what's available in these parts.
