  • where was the USAF when this thing landed?

  • Harold Hill...in SPAAAAACCEEE!!!

  • Haha notice that some sound effects is used in star wars!

  • Seen this once as a kid, wanna see it again...eventhough the CGI didn't age that good.

  • couldnt find this movie, THANK THE LORD.

  • Abed brought me here. #sixseasonsandamovie

  • Nothing like a bit of nostalgia! :3 Best $10 I spent on blu-ray.

  • what a steamimg pile of shit

  • A civilization light years ahead of our own and they show up in a piece of shit car.

  • true was a great movie

  • It was VERY easy to suspend reality and BECOME Alex as a young kid.

  • Wow, that was a long trailer. However that was a GREAT movie!!

  • I love the 80´s look of this film.

  • Trailer of the day!

  • Was the man with a hat called "Centauri"? I remember just the italian adaption.... :-)

  • Seriously, did anyone else think that the pilot of "Stargate Universe" totally ripped off the video game used as recruitment tool device from the movie?!

  • DEATH BLOSSOM!!!!!!!!!!1!

  • This movie did have amazing graphics of the space ships and stuff.

  • love that theme!

  • do you think it is playing on tv alot to remind us to be optimistic, and stick together?

  • They either need to remake this or reedo the...no, just remake it.

  • Was that Alec Baldwin doing the voice over?

  • Go to sleep, Lewis, or I'm telling mom about your Playboys!

  • Is that Donald Rumsfield with the needful things trailer?

  • Is that Darth Vader's Advanced Tie Fighter!

  • I just love it when all the people in the middle of the night, even the elderly, get excited about a kid "busting the record" in a video game. I've never seen that much excitement about, or even any interest in a video game amongst old people.

I suppose those were the old days.

  • I hope a remake is in the plans !!!! I call for you Steven Spielberg !!!!!!

  • star wars rip off

  • @calvingmail

Which ripped off Star Trek. Star Wars isn't the be all, end all of space stories. On topic: They literally showed the last scenes of the movie in this trailer: Alex coming down to Earth in the ship. Maggie talking to Alex afterwards. Louis yelling that goofy ass "Whaahaaaa!" battle cry. All that was missing were the end credits. Silly 80s trailer-making bastards.

  • @donniedarkodevotte

1st: i agree 1000% this could possibly be the worst trailer EVER for one of the best sci fi movie of the last century

2nd: "what do we do?" (o_o)[ (o_o)-O *Rrreeeerrrrrrr* (o_O) "we die"

  • @calvingmail What ISN'T a "star Wars" rip off? In Sci-fi, you're either ripping off Lucas, Cameron, Scott, or Spieberg; and they're all trying to match Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey." Still, you have to give "Starfighter" credit for trying out that new-fangled CGI stuff. Even Lucas, a year earlier in 1883, was still doing it Old School with physical models and motion control cameras invented for "2001." "Starfighter" is old-fashioned story telling, Sci-fi's equivalent of "A Christmas Story."

  • @calvingmail You're a Star Wars rip-off!

  • this movie had a lot of potential to be a really good sci fi film too bad the script writing was on the crutch.

  • Made back in the days when you needed a Cray supercomputer to render CGI.

  • Just watched this on TV a few minutes ago, and it is still as good as when I watched it as a teenager all those years ago.

  • loved this film when I was a kid still do.

  • 76 spaceships lead the platooon

  • still wish they had made a sequel to this

  • Why the hell did they show the ending in the original trailer? The cgi is a lot better than I remember it.

  • My dream then and now is to be as far away from here as possible.

  • The 12 people that did not like this trailer. They must have disagreed with Galoka, and thought the Yulu's were too ugly to save.

  • Excelente pelicula!!!!, me encnato y eso que recien la acabo de ver, a pesar de todos los años que tiene encima muy buenos efectos!!!, recomendada para todos los amantes del cine de los 80´s!!!

  • por fin la encontre XD

  • my former boss did the special effects for this.

  • @WriterJohnC was it Gary Demos?

  • @tatilopatinsky No, David Ginsberg. Maybe Demos worked for him(?) Not sure, this is what my boss told me.

  • From what I can remember this wasn't a very good movie. Still, I'm glad they're making a sequel instead of a remake. :)

  • They showed the ending wtf!!!

  • @TheGodParticle Those are the trailers of yore, full of spoilers. :)

  • LOOKS SO CHEESEY :DDDD

  • @cheifdarklord69 I agree. And i love Tron: Legacy!! (and this movie of course!)

  • Damn, Zer -you so cranky!

  • WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!! 2:00-2:20 They gave away the WHOLE ENDING RIGHT THERE!! Isn't this suppose to be a trailer and not a spoiler??!?! >_<

  • 80's had the best movies

  • @kcc85uk Except Star Wars (1977)

  • @yankmarine 80s had the other two thirds of that three part movie

  • @Essefen My favourite is the first one. Sorry ;-)

  • @yankmarine

There's a difference between Last Starfighter and Star wars.....I like The Last Star Fighter. :)

  • Thumbs up if you laughed at 0:34 "Wow your gonna bust the record!"

  • @HARDY88AU you gotta grab it with both haynds!

  • i am really getting old

  • Legit movie

  • Loved this movie when I was a kid-

    Star Wars meets Tron.

  • It is a damn shame this movie is not available on You Tube. Just love this movie.

  • Been thinking a lot lately about The Last Starfighter, Lorimar Productions spent 15 million in 1983-1984 on it! I think someone should remake it, and do it well!

  • Memo to Hollywood: Do not remake this, and no sequels, please.

  • i had the biggest crush on lance guest, what a hunk!!

  • I loved this movie when it first came out 25+ years ago but now it has Cheese factor of 9.5...

The story had promise and the graphics were a few notches above the original Tron but it needed to be in the hands of a better director IMO. Favorite goofy line has to be when XUR pokes his huge digitalized projected head in at star command and says.. "STAR LEAGUE?!! A wefuge of weak worlds not worthy to be our eqwuals."

  • The Girlfriend is too cute, I would of stayed behind with her instead lol

  • An outstanding, underappreciated movie! An endearing, captivating story with a great moral. Robert Preston's quirky and manic performance. And finally, Craig Stefan's magnificent film score (probably one of the BEST ever in a sci-fi film) make this a movie definitely worth watching.

  • 0:50 - That's Professor Harold Hill, the Music Man!!!

  • I watched this movie when I was a kid and I couldn't get enough of it. But to this day I am still moved by the message it gives. Never be afraid to dream!

  • @High5Brah i wouldnt...olivia wilde is smokin

  • oh god! the memories! its like memory overload! lol

I always wanted to be him when I was younger! haha

  • @High5Brah SADLY... TRUE!

  • I have been looking for the title of this movie for like 5 years. Finally, this was one of my favorite movies of all time

  • this was back when being an astronaught still earnt you the ladys

  • Great movie! Loved it since i was a kid.

  • @TheAltair4

Me too, did you ever see this in theaters?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, saw it in theaters and my brother and i both loved it.

  • That girl is like a FINE looking version of emma watson, and emma watson is dro in the first place! I wonder if she still looks like that, might have to get her number :P

  • OMGWTF IS THAT A DELOREAN?!

  • LOL did anyone else think Luke Skywalker when he removed his helmet? xD!

  • lol it looks like PAC-MAN nowadays, but when I was a teenager, it was awesome! ahahaah ;)

  • i just bought this movie, i love this movie so much.

  • This is one of those movies from my childhood that I wouldn't mind seeing remade. Some like Back to the Future and Karate Kid (damn you Wil Smith!) I abhor the idea of a remake. But I remember thinking the Last Starfighter should be remade even as an older kid in the late 80s, just because as "neat" as this film was, it came out after the 3 original Star Wars films, so we knew the special effects while interesting certainly were not the gold standard.

  • this was so terrible but i watched it a million times

  • Life in suburban towns is a lot BIGGER than life in the big cities. This is why I can't stand big city life. Great Film!!!

  • 2:05 - "Shoot it, Pa! It's already mutated into human form!"

  • great movie!

  • You made a spaceship out of an DeLorean?

  • @narrow2 ROFL!

    ~NtN~

  • Comment removed

  • @967evil Your retort has a fatal flaw as well, they had DeLoreans before Back to the Future came out. Lawyered.

  • @967evil u mad?

  • @narrow2 The way I see it, if you're going to build a spce ship, why not do it with style!

I did notice that any car that had "hover capabilities" was patterned after the DeLorean. Take a look at M.A.S.K. (80s cartoon)

  • why cant we have movies like this where the aliens dont have some kind of tentacle and are here only to destroy the world ?

  • 1:52 YOU KILLED KENNY!!!

  • love this film!

  • By early 1980s standard, these were top notch graphics made with a super-computer of the time, by 1994 the original Playstation could match the graphics, it shows just how quicky special effects and CGI have improved in a short time.

  • @CalyxAsgard starfox reminded me of this game.

  • Moral: play video games, get a hot girl.

  • i want a remake :p

  • @themassau

I hear they are doing a sequel.

  • @ChrisJ092 THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! it is a very cool kind movie

  • @ChrisJ092 where did you hear that?

  • @billyboy385

I read it at imdb.com and wikipedia.

  • breaker breaker was better..

  • 2:09 I don't think you can make a better entrance than that.

  • one of the 80's goddies.

  • If they remake this maybe Will Smith can buy the rights and put himself and his son in the remake.

  • OMG i saw this movie once when i was little..and never again.. im so happy im gonna download it and enjoy it now as an adult. :)

  • Hey Yogurt Brains . The Home Personal computer just enter the market in 1984 and they used a Cray Supercomputer to do the graphics . The movie has a really good story line and Thankfully they cut Will Weatons scenes from the released movie . You folk are spoiled rotten .

  • I love you Alex Rogan....

  • Looks good, but crap graphics. :(

  • @Vahtacen They were OK by 1984 standards, it was sorta like the the Star Wars arcade game of the time.

  • @Hotshotter3000 I saw it yesterday and it was really good (despite graphics).

  • @Vahtacen It's from 1984, give them a break. Trying to do CGI on the level of District 9 or Avatar would be like dividing by zero.

  • @alucard1931 yeah i know, i was just commenting. Not very good graphic (but they couldn't have done better), otherwise the movie was fantastic.

  • @alucard1931 Well, it would have at least needed a computer the size of pandora ^^

  • Saw it when I was a kid. Kinda freaked me out alittle, but thought it was cool none the less. Not sure how I would feel about seeing it again.

NO REMAKE!! You just know they will turn it into some angst ridden teen bullshit.

  • i worked on the international marketing of this film when I worked at Lorimar. Fond memories of the creative team especially seeing a Cray computer the size of a big refrigerator. That's probably replaced by a laptop now! This film was ahead of its time so it should be remade.

  • Remake j.j.abrams

  • I saw this movie when it first came out

  • A remake would be good IF they get someone that knows about how to make a good movie otherwise leave this movie alone! Also REMAKE the movie I don't wanna see someones "NEW VISION" of this story. Its a classic hero underdog overcomes and gets the girl story don't mess up the formula!!!

  • I want a remake

  • @Spetznaz Nah Remakes of classics like this are just horrible.

  • Comment removed

  • @Spetznaz That'd be awesome!!

  • The Last Dick Licker

  • lol another child memories ,... it's good movie... one of my favourite when I was kid

  • VICTORY OR DEATH!

  • tjis is like the south park episode wih kenny and the golden psp

  • i still play my reg Nintendo, keeps me 80s coo haha

  • I want to make a remake of this movie!! Hahaha

  • The thing for me is: Why did I type "The Last Starfighter" into a search engine?

I wanted to see Robert Preston as 'Centauri'.

Now go look for the movie "The Music Man "

Watch Mr. Robert Preston at his finest in the movie "The Music Man". =^.^= OK, then watch Matthew Broderick do it.

  • Yes! Finally!

    Dream on, Stuart…

    Lucid the novel dot com

  • films like this remind me why I love sci-fi more than getting high and dunk.

  • who are the 8 assholes who didn't like this ???

  • One of the greatest movies of my childhood... Ahhhh it takes me back... I want back...

  • I like the car that Robert Preston was driving...I want one.

  • funny

  • alex jones infourwar

  • thats the eightees i love this movie

  • they are making a sequel, go to imdb.com

    "STARFIGHTER"

  • REMAKE REMAKE .... and bring out a game too

  • love the movie, love the theme song

  • "... when he cums, you gotta grab it with both hands!"

  • Now if i only find that sci-fi parody with Hulk Hogan then im golden

  • @buzianyadatutube

    Suburban Commando

"A warrior from outer space crashes on earth and shacks up with Christopher Lloyd & family!

gah i loved that movie when i was a kid. it has frekin hulk. muh wwf hero.

  • @Dahmainman man thx. now to nostalgy.

    ps.: i fucking love ya

  • @buzianyadatutube

oh man if you remember the name of it please tell me, i've been looking for it

  • @VideoRoom207 look down :P suburban commando :)

  • 'comes the unforgettable story' yea,it's unforgettable alright.lol

  • Holy shit, I forgot Robert Preston was in this.

  • Oh God its the whole movie in like 2:00. wow the special effects are mindblowing!

"I love you Alex Rogen" haha

  • ''i love you alex rogen'' it's so darn cheesy, it makes me laugh so hard!

  • Its a really entertaining movie, even if it really sounds like it sucks. The Star League has a fleet, it has warships and pilots yet they don't have gunners? Thats all the Starfighters are, they're gunners and somehow, out of an entire civilisation spanning hundreds if not thousands of worlds, they could only find a couple of dozen gunners, but they had plenty of pilots? What, did the Star League forget how to hit the broadside of a barn?

  • @weldonwin

    sssssshs, its a movie. ffs.

  • This is a masterpiece....

  • Those times in 80's ppl dreamed about traveling in deep space :)

  • G4 really should show this film as part of their "Movies That Don't Suck", becasue this film is one of them!

  • The guy who plays alex has really shiny blue eyes.

  • this movie had a nice concept. the basic idea is okay not fantastic but okay. they'll probly do a remake at some point

  • @taggarar they are actually doing a sequel (due out in the next year or so ala Tron/Tron Legacy). It wouldn't surprise me if a special edition gets released with new CGI prior to the sequel release date.

  • like all fantasy computer games != getting some pussy

  • they'll proably do a remake of this to lol.

  • I just watched this movie today for the first time in about 10 years. Still a great flick.

  • This movie has too much importance on my scale of possible paranoid truths hidden by a motion picture (of course "Spice World" does too).

  • I can't understand how such a great, well made, movie can be so disliked. I still enjoy this flick, 25 years later! A sequel would have been nice, but I'll take a reboot that's done right.

  • @GenoPeppino it can only be done right if the music is similar in epicness.

  • you know its going to be a good movie when a white teen gets advice from an old black guy. Oh my god and I thought wing commander was the worst outer space movie ever. I owe Freddie prince Jr. an appology
