To use the whole screen you must record in Widescreen 16:9.
I prefer not to use widescreen for my videos as it results in a larger file size to upload which may be compressed more when Youtube converts it to FLV, resulting in a lower quality picture.
I still don't understand why doesn't the video become full screen, and has that ugly black border...

Only use wisdescreen if you need it.
I upload OGG video files at 768x576.
