I accidentally discovered that if you play this song at the same time as Benjy Wertheimer's "Remembrance" you will find that it seems like those two songs were designed to be played over each other....It's uncanny how close they are are how they interact together....check it out ...you'll see what I mean :)
Andreas Vollenweider is an exceptional musician & composer . . . thank you, gonzaloluengo, for this fantastical tour de force of his song, "Pace Verde", a true gem ~ (•8-D
Thanks for this video... 80's... Old satellite TV with big antennas beamed to different birds in the sky... VH1 Sunday night (2 hours of this music)... I remember the 1st time I saw this video. Lots of memories, I was on 4th year of med school.
Vollenweider's music has been with me since I was a young teenager. I loved his music and listened to it countless times, especially while studying -- hearing it now practically makes me remember the periodic table! I know every note of his songs too. They are hard to get tired of and if they stay in your mind, they don't bother, but accompany you in your day in such a pleasant way.
i am for louisiana and i heard him like in 79-80 on a coffee commercial on a louisiana brand coffee and i fell in love i was only 14-15 y/o at the time and i got a very strange look from the cashier at the music store as well,,,a young creole female, what does she know about harp music...needless to say that was 30+yrs ago and i along with my 24&18y/o daughters still play and my sons are following in the footsteps at 6,8&14y/o. thanks av and yanni
I am young Creole from New Orleans and LOVE Vollenweider. In fact he was played alot in my house when I was young and my parent's friends (ALL CREOLES) quickly became big fans...til this day!
I listen to his music since 1984 , I know every note , every sound from all his songs , have to say that the old records are better than the new ones , he is a genius
My first expsoure to Vollenweider, an amazing track that put me under a spell. If this didn't mark the start of New Age music, it was damn near close. Almost a disservice to label it that. Stands on its own as an example of awesome muscianship.
This has been one of my favorite songs since I was little.. I used to always play the maxi single on the WRONG speed until I read the cover one day and noticed it was supposed to be 45 RPM... It sounds GREAT either way..
"..from the new age"? New? I remember catching Vollenweider on the Johnny Carson show back in the 1980s. j/k I knew what you meant by new. :P
I just remember the funny look I got from the cashier when I went out and bought his White Winds CD a few days later. I commented it was really cool harp music. Guess that wasn't what the music store clerk expected a 16 year old to say in reply to her question of "I have never heard of him, what kind of music is it?"
I remember that show and it was promoting White Sands. I had Behind the Gardens and Caverna Magica by then and I got the same crossed eyed looks from cashiers as well, I guess the freshly printed "Rush Signals Tour" shirt didn't help any either. I got the same looks whenever I walked out with Pat Matheny, No worries (mycroft791) like Andreas, we were just way ahead of our time Dude....
My best musician

Vollenweider simply owns. Enough said. For Pace Verde, I think the Live version is better, though. Slightly speedier :)
