If you're going to tune as low as G, then you probably need to buy a different guitar. The thicker strings needed for that tuning would warp the bridge. Your best bet would be to get a guitar with a longer scale length

@eliten0Ob Meshuggah - Stengah - 7 string Ibanez tuned to F sharp - the equivalent of an 8-string guitar, now it doesn't get deeper than that my friend
HMMM your 19 and im 28 and you say kid, 1 your full of shit on trying one out because anyone that trys a Rivera amp no matter what type are very pleased with it so congradulations being in the guniess book for the first to complain and being a liar. 2 You are young and have not played many amps to talk shit about Marshall which every band out there have owned or played and still playing off a Marshall so what does that tell you. Get out of your teens and ask mommy to go to the mall and try one.
so the fact you said "because anyone that trys a Rivera amp no matter what type are very pleased with it " to be honest I prefer Peavey and Engl over them any day
Hey dumbass do your history and look up how Paul Rivera changed the industry on amps and was the first to make an all tubed amp successful at working 100% efficiantly. If it wasn't for him Fender would not be here. He was handselected to help them build an amp that would work and he built THE FIRST all tubed amp that worked well with transitors dick. Learn your history, he makes Holy Grails in amps, he is 1 of the best in the business next to Marshall so PISS OFF and have a WANK
And your the one from the beginning that started an argument that did not need to happen by making a rude comment, opinions are onething but your just a plain DICK. I did accomplish something by everyone reading your comments and so they can remember the name braidin123 and see you on other posts and agree and say WOW HES A DICK and says bad shit about people, oh and hes nosey as well. FAIL
By the way DICK 98% of those bands you fucking named nominated Slipknot for the Grammy awards and the best metal band awards as well and they think very Highly of Slipknot so go listen to Barby Girl or Backstreet boys you incompitant moron and stop talking all this shit like you have from the beginning. Go post your useless comments somewhere alts and a place with a conversation that involves you unlike this one that does not.
Hey Douche and they all use Marshall Messa Boogie Amps as well dick weed. Like I said your argument is fucking pointless because your comparing an all digital amp verses an all tubed amp and the whole fucking discusion to begin with dick head was about all digital fucking amps to begin with so grow the fuck up and leave the conversations for people that are not high on themselves and for people that don't have to look at musicansfriend and WIKI for everything someone says asshole you FAIL LOOZER
HEY FAGGOT before talking shit about things you know nothing about ask before saying a bunch of shit to someone that knows his equipment, 1 I traded my Peavey 6505 all tubed amp and stack in twards the KR7 which dropt the fucking price down asshole. Its not my fault you can't afford a good amp if you wanted to so stop hating on me because I can. Your opinion = SHIT to everyone you douche. The Spider was for ease of moving so I don't damage my head when I want to go somewhere to jam with friends
My Rivera KR7 is only $1500 and it includes a 4x12 cab with Custom Celestians, obviously you don't know enough info on prices and brands. I happen to own a Spider III 150 amp to play around with and thats why I rate them the best for what it is, an all digital unit and for what it is it is WAY BETTER than the Vypyr, if the vypyr was better than the Spider series I would have gotten it but because of the comparison I had choosen the Spider for the value and they have alot to back them up with.
Your comparing an all tubed amp being 6505 as bands using live when in reality the comparison is a non tubed amp, so when do they compare???? Peaveys SUCK as non tubed amps. I use to own a 6505 and you cannot compare ANY NON tubed amps against an all tubed amp. My Rivera KR7 CREAMES 6505 but thats not the point of comparing NON tubed amps. Everyone knows tubed amps are superior, Do you know how many bands signed off and promote the Line6 models over Peavey pieces of shit, compare the ammount.
I ahve a 75w Spider Jam from Line 6, so probably same stuff, it is good, but you cant make your own tone really, and wah pedals are shit with it :( Jim Dunlop wah just cuts all sounds somehow... Heard the Peaver is ace though,
Peavey suck don't get one, use to own one and hated it. Get a spider 3 and if you want a nasty one and can flip for $500 I bought the Spider III 150 and can only dyle up to 4 or 4 1/2 because its that loud and intense. I have an all tubed Rivera KR 7 Mick Thomson Signature Series which is my holy grail of all tubed amps and has never blown a tube since Ive owned it and that costs $1500 and for a non tubed amp the Spiders are the top of the line amps on the market today and they sound outstanding
I saved for a year to get that amp and even if it was double the price I would have still gotten it. Ive played and owned some really good amps including a Peavey 6505 AKA Eddy VanHalen series which I loved and the Rivera KR7 is far superior. I finally got it when someone told me you should only have to buy 1 amp and forever be happy with it and I am. I went threw a set of tubes in a year with the Peavey but this one has not blown a single tube in almost 2 years. The sound is what sold me.
The cheaper models of Line6 such as the 15 and 30's are junk, the 75's and 150 have some bugs in some of amps depending on the person inspecting them. People need to remember there still a new company and havent been around very long at all and they have already beaten Pevey and alot of other companys around with there products, Peavey even tried to copy them with there Vypr amps which REALY suck. Line6 just got really big way to fast and things just have to catch up.
I love Digitech multi effects pedals and pretty much any of there pedals are good. I have a Lin6 POD I play with that have studio software the has all sorts of effects pedal name barnds like Digitech pedals all on the computer and a crap load of effects. The one I got is like $400 but worth it. It did take me almost 6 months to figure out the whole program but it was worth it considering it has thousands of dollars worth of equipment on 1 disc and everything is limitless and you can record also.
yea, i was impressed by line 6s pedals, just not so much their spider amps. but i will say the spider amps are the best bang for the buck for beginners, i just dislike their tone.
no way in my fuckin life could i get my spider to do that.. i had a 15 watt.. then i got the new Peavey vypyr which is fucking sick.. they are so nice!!! really cheap and fucking loud as hell i had it on volume 3 and it was loud enuf to compete with drums.. and it goes up to 13!! just insane and so much stuff on it idk how to use half of it but im super happy i got it
the wires in mine keep fucking ripping so i keep having to sauder them back in place and its a real pain in the ass , im just going to slap some black outs in it. also watch out for fret buzz , mine has some bad fret buzz , im going to get it checked out soon
Yeah I've tried them. They're fucking horrible. They're fizzy, muddy and generally awful.
Alexi also has absoloutely awful tone, fizz up the ass. The guy can really play, don't get me wrong. I'm not much of a fan of CoB, but he's got fucking great playing chops. His tone SUCKS though, and blackouts are definately a part of that.
I've used EMG, Blackout, and Dirty Fingers (new-ish from Gibson) and I still think EMG's have the best tone by far. Really easy to dial in and everything is nice and tight. Palm mutes don't sound all fuzzy nasty, and complicated tapping licks really get some amazing clarity.
cool. yea, i used a b.c. rich platinum series bich. it fell out of tune every once in while which was annoying. i have a jackson dxmg, which has lock tuning, but you have to have the bridge adjusted to tune down so i just use my other guitars for tuning down. a week after that comment though, i actually did get that same model ibanez. i actually do like the stock pickups though. they're pretty bassy, but that's what i like about them.
cool man. i have a rg7321(stock) and a spider III 30w but i've only been playing for about a month. what do you think is the best way to learn? right now im learning using the Hal Leonard Guitar Method books. im almost done with Book 1(like 4 pages more) but i broke my right thumb in a fight so i have to wait 2 weeks. how long u been playing? cuz u have skillz.
yea, you can put a 6 string in this tuning. i reccomend using like .12's but i use .10's and i still do it but yea. i'm about to buy this same guitar though. yea, i have my six string b.c. rich platinum series bich tuned to "hear to say"(listened and tuned to it). you get somewhat more kick with light gauge strings which i sorta like.
Im trying out tuning my JEM to a weird tuning - AEDGBE. It stays in tune with the locking nut (I use 9.5s) and I naturally like the tone of slackend light strings more than any 7 strings, or low b srings

I noticed that most songs are the same thing over and over... I play metal and i don't like EMG pickups because they're too sterile for my tatse, I like to have some warmth in my sound, but hey, it's your preference...

hey if u tune ur guitar real low doesnt that make it sound real crappy (thin) when u go back to standard tuning?

@steviemike7 no, just your perception of the pitch will make it sound wimpy if you are used to a face melting tone produced by low tunings.

ChaosEnigma1978 4 years ago 2
yeah j-customs are over $1000
Slacker996 4 years ago
and besides, it's a loose definition of the word custom, when it's factory built. $500 won't even buy you a universe.

lol fuk ya man.
But its not enough,
I want to drop it to F lol
But my guitar really can't support that.
SO imma buy the Stef B-7 Baritone.
(stephen carpenter esp model)

I have this baby.
Unfortunatly it doesn't sound as good,
cuz I don't have those beautiful
SEymour Duncan pickups + Line 6 Distortion :(
But in overall...I can assure you..
This is the..LIGHTEST guitar you'll ever have in ur hands. Over all, I luv my 7 string :)
But I tune mine all the way to Drop G ;)

Nicely done
laggy15 5 years ago
well u suck. get a good amp, some emg pickups, and dont play the same thing over and over. nice guitar but tht sounded realy bad.
rabidchipmunk2641 5 years ago
I noticed that most songs are the same thing over and over... I play metal and i don't like EMG pickups because they're too sterile for my tatse, I like to have some warmth in my sound, but hey, it's your preference...
Good job man, I really liked it, the 2:00 mark got a little sketchy but it got better... keep it up!
