It uses electromagnetic fields to push the ionosphere out of place and manipulate the weather ...therefore causing earthquakes and hurricanes tornadoes ie: Japan catastrophe, hurricane Katrina, tornadoes in Alabama? Tesla was not Austrian, no Croatian. He was a Serb. His father was orthodox serbian priest, I guess that makes him a Serb. And yes in 19. century until 1914, that region of Former Yugoslavia, Krajina, was occupied by Austrian-Hungary empire. They were just occupiers, like Hitler was from 1941-1945.Croatia also never existed in that period, Croatia was formed in 1991 and also had a short life from 1941-1945 as main supporters of Hitler

Well, its not ALL about chasing oil. By heating up the ionosphere at a focused point with extremely low frequencies at over 1 billion watts of power, a creates a "dome" in the atmosphere. This can cause a shift in the jet stream, creating and altering weather. Droughts, Hurricanes (think Katrina) as well as earthquakes can be "controlled" so to speak, using HAARP. In other words, there's multi uses, but could have profound and catasrophic effects on the planet as well.

@Marisa20XI Haarp uses 3.6MW, NOT 1GW. You're off by nearly a factor of 277. Also, the ionosphere is WELL above the tropopause and the jet stream, and is made up of nothing but charged particles. It has NO effect on the atmosphere below, weather, hurricanes, OR earthquakes. Radio waves do not and CAN NOT affect matter in that way. You scientifically illiterate conspiracy nutjobs amuse me. Learn about the electromagnetic spectrum.

HAARP is not a magnetron, it's a 3-10Mhz communications antenna array.This is below FM radio, closer to AM, and well below microwave, which is exactly why it's used for communications/ionospheric study purposes. Why do you think it's located at a latitude so far North? To study the auroras and improve long-range communications capabilities.

@piglettetoy HAARP is not a top-secret project, it has no sinister cause or implications. All of their research and findings are published. It's a radio transmitter/receiver array in Alaska for the purpose of studying the ionosphere, how the Sun interacts with it, auroras,meteor effects, etc for the purpose of improving long-range radio communications and bettering our understanding of the ionosphere.

It opened a whole new perspective to physics; it is very useful in discovering the space and understanding its functioning, but most known common usage for it is all GPS systems.
His theories have blossomed many new inventions, people just tend to forget it and think its all "imaginary". Just nuclear energy alone is an important part of our lives nowadays...
