Look, if religions are static, then you have a point. However, Christians contend that religion isn't static; it changes with the context it is. The same is true with Islam.
I'm not at all a religious person, but if we're going to pit Islam against Christianity, you have to use the same metrics on yourself. If not, that's not only hypocritical but highly dangerous.

Not to mention the world's 10th most active terrorist org is Christian. Yes, there was a political/ethno tinge...but there is also a political tinge to current terrorism as well. I'm not sure all where fighting for pure religious reasons. I'm mainly focused on the U.S. here and the contrast between the two. 1)Muslim is a not a religion of peace or violence. It's simply a religion. Christians started the Crusades (a religious war). Bush implied that the war in Afghanistan was ordained by God. Religion taken out of context and misused leads to serious consequences. That's the issue, not the religion itself.

@ucsb1985 Actually having read the Koran cover to cover, I can tell you that it tells Muslims to "Kill the infidel where ever he is." Infidel being non Muslims. It also says that "If you don't kill him, make him pay for protection." Basically make him pay to live. Someone made the argument that the Bible also preaches some killing. In the old testament that is true. Not that I care because I'm not very religious.
