I don't know why everyone is hammering this guy, he makes very good points. No pattern is going to play the exact same way in multiple houses. Some patterns don't even play the same from lane to lane in one house, you see the pros make notes of different lanes in tournaments all the time. I've played shark in one house where I could get the ball out to 5 board and it would face pocket. At my home house I can't get the ball right of 12 otherwise I'm hitting the 10 pin. Lane surfaces play a big r
trust me, once you've bowled long enough and bowled enough sport compliant shots and plenty of different bowling alleys you will find out some shots will play easier at certain alleys. it happens that the video i filmed was at a bowling alley where all patterns tend to play easier. i'm just telling you to stop being so one tracked about "pba shots." you will find out in the future, especially when you bowl tournaments with bowlers who know how to set up a shot.
@i3enthebowlerkid if you've been bowling long enough, you'll find that pba shots will hook more on different surfaces. you can bowl at a center that's using first generation synthetic lanes and see shark hook out of the house, and then bowl at a center using pro anvilane and you won't see your ball hook more than 5 boards. and you might wanna try to be less rude when you make a comment like that, makes you look real mature.
@ragnrk Obviously to your style you are not a very good bowler. Quit trying to be a smart little prat. I have bowled on Chameleon I have bowled a 700 on it. I doubt you have or wil ever.
@clearwavefilms i've bowled 700 on more than one named shot, i've shoot 299, 298 on cheetah and 290 on scorpion, who cares. i've bowled team usa trials, bowled many scratch tournaments and scratch leagues at different houses. a sport compliant shot does not play the same at all houses depending on how old a surface is, and how much wear and tear has been on a lane. some houses have a more burned out track area, and now matter what shot is put on it, will hook more than newer surfaces.
@clearwavefilms trust me, i'm not gonna disagree with you with the fact that chameleon can definitely play tighter on certain surfaces. i've bowled the dick weber shot on brunswick proanvilane, a very hard surface, anytime you hit the longer strips of oil on that shot, your ball had no chance of rolling up. it's the same for shark, the longest named pattern. i've bowled that on a surface where you could not play outside of 12, then i've bowled it on an old surface that hooked early.
@clearwavefilms if all you can do is just throw insults, then you don't know shit about bowling, it's plain and simple. if you did know anything, why don't you try to reason why you do know more about bowling than i do. fire away.
@clearwavefilms How would I know... Hmm.... Well visualize this in your head. I'm the youngest bowler in my state with a 215+ average. I averaged 221 on Jr. Team USA trials. I've made it 3 years... consistently. I have bowled more 299 then anything. I averaged 235+ for one season of my league. I have averaged 230 from 20 games on scorpion the easiest named pattern. I have beaten Walter Ray 245-243 and Chris Barnes 255-245 and I can cream you. Keep your mouth shut man
@clearwavefilms oh wow, you actually came up with some bowling knowledge, where was this the first couple of posts. you could have saved yourself some embarrassing comments if you started talking like this earlier. sounds like a totally different person just showed up on the keyboard, hmmmm.
@clearwavefilms and seriously? if you really were a bowler that consistently bowled Team USA Trials, you wouldn't have made comment like "i have to play straight up on chameleon." yea, EVERYONE has to play straight up on chameleon right? you could be a 260 average bowler and i still wouldn't care because you ain't a respectable bowler. you're just a tool that takes pleasure bashing on other people. and calling someone gay isn't an insult, that's just disrespectful.
I have a virtual gravity! and i like the way you throw the ball!!! can u comment on my videos to tell me wat i can improve on??? ive been bowling for 6 months

really nice form just 1 thing: you have this pause at the top of your backswing which kills your momentum completely try to keep your swing in constant motion which could possibly increase your speed but will definitely make it more consistent once perfected, in addition to that your form will be more fluid
im working on this myself so we're both pretty much in the same boat here, i havent posted a video of my recent form tho the one i have up, ew the technique is called the pro groove i think
Hey very nice bowling and form. Can you look at my vids that say virtual gravity in the title and help me with my form. I am looking to develop a form like yours but I'm teaching myself so I need some tips. Thanks. :)
try NOT to hunch over and keep your arm straight, and from what i saw your looking for revs, either try coming straight up the back of the ball, or kind of flick your wrist
thats a really smooth reaction, but i havent seen many people at our house play that angle for chameleon. I tried doing it like mike machuga and couldnt hook it at all. You do have a nice ball reaction though and it does look smooth.
the only reason why i was able to play that angle on chameleon was because the surface at that house plays with a lot of friction, most any shots seem to hook there. so generally i would probably say that chameleon mostly follows it's characteristics and normally does not play that far outside at other houses
i wouldnt drill it pin up unless you have a moderate to lower speed around 14ish cuz im up around 18 with a similar rev rate as this guy and it jus doesnt hook however his speed is perfect 4 that layout...hope i helped before u drilled it :)
I would like to add that the 14ish MPH speed is probably a misleading number, especially if you are reading off speed readings at the bowling centers because speeds are read towards the end of the lane so they are typically slower because balls are hitting friction. I would have a better guess that my speed is around 16-17mph, probably closer to low 17s at the arrows.
lol so? do you hear me bashing your bowling on your videos. grow up. so what if i have slow ball speed, i admit that but it's also an advantage on some conditions. and it's also not like i only bowl at one speed, this is just my most comfortable speed. i can speed up but i would move out of my comfort zone. now what else do you have to comment on? it seems like you're the know-it-all for bowling.
man, don't listen this people, fast speed, low speed, this form is better that this, who cares?!, the important goal here is make your own game, do whatever feels confortable to you to gain the objective, keep going dude!
the fact that you hit a different breakpoint on every ball and still managed to hit the pocket? that's IMPOSSIBLE on any PBA or sport condition. you need to be accurate to within 2 boards on most PBA shots, you repeatedly pitched it 5 or more boards off target and were still in the hole.
this is a house shot, nothing more. i love how people post videos saying they're bowling on a challenging condition, when it's obvious they're not. not knocking your bowling, just the shot.
@Taz86 you have to take into consideration many factors. all shots play different at different houses. shots will tend to play easier on certain surfaces depending on what type they are, how soft/hard the surface is. i have to admit that all pba type shots and other tougher shots do play fairly easy at this particular house. and consider the fact this is a 4-5 games into the pair when the shot has broken down. even pros will have more than 2 boards of miss when they have properly built a shot.
i already know all that, and i've bowled on chameleon after 20 games and barely had an arrow at the breakpoint. 4-5 games, especially if you're bowling by yourself, is not enough to give you 12 boards at the breakpoint. you were pitching it to 4 on one shot, then tugging it to 16 on the next. PBA shots simply don't play like that unless they're improperly programmed into the machine, or improperly laid out. if either of those, then it's not actually the advertised shot.
@Taz86 well, if this will help more, i'm definitely not a pro when it comes to a consistent speed, rotation every shot so a target miss doesn't always mean that it won't strike because it might have been a different factor, slower or faster speed, catching it more or less. i've bowled team usa trials at sunset station before and the shots have been measured every day and there were definitely times where you had some good miss area, whether it was the shot itself or me, who knows.
you bash this guy for slow speed you are slower in most of your videos and you cant even stay behind the ball this guy is far better than you bub you suck
