  • What the hell? How dare that mentor jerkass punch someone like that ? I'm so offended at what he did that just took all the FUN out of watching this episode. Seriously, I dont know whether to track him down Im so fucking pissed...

  • hahahahah I love the drunk guy. he's awesome LOL. He's Beating his cooks. Talking Trash. This is defiantly better than the US version

  • drunk as fuck

  • Don't forget this program was recorded not in the US, not in France but in JAPAN!

That's the way some masters train assistances in Japan because they are pro and responsible for the dishes.

From point of Inoue's view, the beaten assisitance was way out of his expectation. Just legit to beat in front of the camera. Totally pointless to blame Inoue.

U still angry? Quit watching the show and keep eating lousy junks around U!

  • dude that inuoe douche bag is farking drunk....

  • it is really unprofessional.

  • i wonder what kagasan thought o.o

  • the Chairman should have escorted Inoue to his seat with a smile, saying under his breath, " you move and I'll cut your head off." ;)

  • Comment removed

  • lol when that commentator told the other one who interview the dude who was wasted "you shouldve had a bottle instead of a microphone"

  • I'm honestly torn. One one had, Inoue is being a dick. On the other hand, it's so damn funny, especially considering normal japanese patterns of constant politeness.

  • BTW was there a second smack? I might've missed it :/

  • @delta3030

yes, there was another one, about 6:30 i think

  • I think it's more of a cultural thing, that's why the young dude didnt' do anything to inoue. Not 100% sure but elders are held in really high regard in Japanese culture, even if they are (not all) incompetent, jackasses, etc.

  • @delta3030 yeah i've seen that in other cultures too. the elders playfully [or not so much sometimes] smacking youngers for doing something wrong or being crude/silly.

  • 3:55 - "How are things going so far?"

"Shut up! You guys are annoying me today! Don't interview anyone who is taking this seriously! Come back when we're finished!"

"Oh, of course. Well, that about sums things up I'LL TRY AGAIN LATER!!"

    I love that! Ganbatte, Otah-San!

  • What a dickface asshole cumstain!

  • Seriously fuck my job i could get another one that guy deserves to get his ass kicked.

  • i think he is ddrunk lol

  • INOUESAN SUCKS he is helping his apprentice... why is everyone laughing about it?? it is against the rules... so the rules doesn't mean anything?? since this show is a battle against time and if the challenger wins, there is no glory

  • The cons of being in an apprenticeship

  • @swearedinnocence actually...Inoue hit his apprentice's assistant, he's hired by Kaga, not Inoue. It's like you go to your friend's house and beat up his maid...

    regardless, he's an A-hole

  • Why hit the boy, white hair arshole !

  • everyone needs to calm down, sometimes you need to rough people up to get them to do shit right

  • argh i feel so bad for the assistant who kept on getting punched

  • Hah I love this show. Awkward moments as the old chef is getting more drunk and abusive, but everyone is too polite to do anything. Love Iron Chef!

  • gosh, is it even acceptable to do that to an assistant of the gourmet academy? He probably had too much to drink.. =)

  • while i was an apprentice in europe it was quite comon to get a sucker punch. usualy in good nature it does help focus. with a bit of portwine... could piss a guy off i remember serving a sponge to my boss as a porkchop he couldent tell the difference. ate all of it and complimented me on it... revenge is sweet!!!

  • Wow, Inoue is a douche...

  • Pause at 0:17, the look on that drunken fool is priceless. Wonder if he ever apologized. The announcer and commentators try to laugh it off and be positive, but after the second punch you can sense some tension. I note that he was never on the show again.

  • THIS is why Iron Chef Japan is superior to the American version.

American TV, we'd have pulled the guy out after the first drunken comment. Here they keep the cameras on him for every hilarious second.

  • @LordOmberus That and the guest judges aren't completely retarded.

  • @Okin17

You do have to admit that the woman they have dubbing over the usual actress they bring in sounds a little bit derpy.

  • @LordOmberus That isn't intentional? Like how the fortune teller has that holier-than-thou air.

  • @Okin17

On some level, it's all theater. If it was intentional, I think it's rather unfair to the actresses to make them all sound borderline retarded.

  • Good grief, Inoue is so embarrassing. I hope this was reflected in news. His behavior is truly appalling.

  • stupid challenger's master hit the assistant head. he is a shame of japan.

  • "This could be too strong for people who can't drink much!"

"True, but for those who like to drink, they're going to love this!"

    ...so Koga is making a dish in honor of Inoue? Geez, that Inoue is such a creep. Someone should grab one of those stingrays by the tail (with gloves, of course) and FISH SLAP that jerk. -_-;

  • I'm surprised that they didn't say "flamola" when fire started shooting up lol.

Yeah, that guy needs to join AA or something. He becomes a total jackass whenever he's drunk. He punched the assistants twice right now. I don't even know why he wasn't escorted away from the actual cooking area, and place him somewhere where he could sober up a bit

  • @_@ poor sous chef...

kaga-san is like, " i hate this man."

and i take it back i bet he does think he's higher than all the iron chefs

  • Man, stop punching the poor guy!

  • I'm surprised Chairman Kaga hasn't said something to Inoue by now o.O

  • Wow, WTF. Inoue just suckerpunched that poor guy.

He probably had too much to drink. That wasn't nice at all; and being a professional, he should at least maintain decorum. With such actions, he brings shame not only to himself, but his protege as well.

  • what the heck was that lady laughing or giggling for? she likes it that the assistant was getting hit? what kind of family was she brought up in?

they seriously should of had pulled that drunk out of the kitchen after the first punch!

  • drunk ass bastard not even half through the battle and he has a;ready sucked back half a bottle he had no right to hit that boy if he had slapped me id kick his ass all over kitchen stadium damn he just told that commentator guy to go away

  • Call the bouncers and haul out Inoue before he vomits into one of the pots and passes out in Sakai's side after insulting his wife.

  • If I would have been that assistant, I would have walked out and said "fuck it, I don't need this shit. Do this yourself bitch, in out!"

  • the guy is fucking drunk on national tv and acting like a douchebag to the show that invited him, talk about being unprofessional

  • And it's WINE for fucks sake... how do you become that wasted on regular wine that quickly without either coming into the stadium intoxicated or chugging straight out of the fucking bottle? You'd think someone who is so familiar with wine would know his limits. Reminds me of those little league games when parents occasionally smuggle in kegs.

  • I think asians lack the enzyme needed to metabolise ethanol so they get drunk rly quickly. something to do with the fact that in europe people traditionally fermented drinks to make them safe to drink but in the east they boiled it (tea)

  • ow shiz..that looked like it hurt o_o..im surprised he didn't get into trouble?!

  • 0:10 falcon punch

  • lol, this is my fav. iron chef that I've seen so far (and I've seen alot xD) drunken challenger assistance ftw

  • I know that they often joke about there being rules and that a challenger can be disqualified if a supporter is in the kitchen and/or helps verbally or physically, but they should have kicked Inoue's ass out and disqualified Koga for not telling his mentor to butt out.

  • its a mistake to use only the recipes he learned from inoue. the judges usually don't reward you for preparing dishes you've already made millions of times; that's not creative.

  • That Inoue guy ought to get hauled out by the cops.

  • if i was that assistant...id be straining inoues face...seriously...then id toss em in the freezer to cool off...

  • hahaha, what a sore losing drunk, inoue...oh yeah. I remember this battle now! (this is why I love the original and true Iron Chef!)

  • If Koga loses this I'm afraid Inoue will chase him around the kitchen wielding a knife and going "YOU HAVE FAILED ME!!!"

  • Man, Innoue is friggin' hammered...Is this how he usually acts?

  • That innoue guy...

i dont care if he is god or what regarding on his superior french food.

but u smack the person it means u sucks.. even the food suck...

no one eats for a bad heart !!

  • damn that guy... true what sakai said... if u are man in french cooking why dont u challenge me than ur apprentice !!

he should have sit down n give encouragement like Michiba did to his apprentice not smacking !!

Seriously, as worst as Gordon Ramsey... Ramsey wont smack his assistance.. he would curse...

un-ethical chef that innoue... only a shame to Japan

  • that is how a french chef is trained....EVEN gordon ramsey throw plate at his kitchen staff stop watching hell kitchen....

  • I was trained to maim and kill. You don't see me dislocating the delivery boy's shoulders for being late. I just don't tip him.

  • He should have been shown to his seat when he began helping his apprentice in the first place since that is not allowed and then when he hit the assistant the first time certainly should have been made to leave the stadium not to mention the second regardless of culture, he had no right to him, he wasn't even the challenger. And the second hit what was that even for? It didn't show the reason, he just popped him. I hope never to see it from this show again. Very disappointing!

  • I was very appalled at his behavior. He has no right in hitting that assistant, that isn't even his. I know some traditional martial arts masters do hit their students to learn (Not just the obvious sparing stuff.) but not sure about cooking, but even still, that poor guy worked for Iron Chef show, not his restaurant he had not a single right to hit him, not that it was hard, but never the less hands off!

  • Man, Inoue is a lousy drunk. If I were Koga, I would be totally embarrassed to represent that jerk,

He could probably hit his own assistant on his own kitchen, but that was totally not the case. He didn't even know that guy!

  • Wow I can't believe that Inoue punched that assistant in the head! I'd have Morimoto and Kenichi take him out back and beat him!

  • its disappointing that they say inoue is the main attraction... isn't this show supposed to be about the food and the preparation?

  • Shit that dude is drunk.

  • If I were Kaga-san when that second slap was delivered, I would immediately halt the match and toss Inoue-san out of the stadium. He was clearly not fit to be there.

  • @Sgrubb1S EXACTLY

  • This is one of the best 8 minutes of Iron Chef ever. Don't forget this is a Japanese show. Don't be so judgmental. I haven't watched the rest yet (just had to comment), but Sakai's strategy is very clever so far if you know anything about Japanese taste.

  • lol i can't believe they let him hit the assistant and get away with it. ohhh poor guy!!

  • haha. what if the assistant knocked him out after he got hit?? hilarious.

  • that guy is not even his assistant he works for the iron chef show! he is lucky the japanese are so stoic if he pulled that shit in america hed be lying facedown on the ground with blood pouring out of his disgusting 70 year old face!

  • different cultures, different rules

  • Kaga should use the deathnote on Inoue... haha

  • the challenger must have been punched like that by jerk inoue many times before.

can't inoue just leave the challenger and his assistants alone and let them battle fairly with Sakai?

  • Inoue started out as somewhat cocky and amusing, but then when he started smacking the assistants and interfering, he starts to portray himself as very unsportsmanlike and unprofessional.

  • Inoue's a lousy drunk. I feel bad for his wife if he's married.

  • i would throw a pot of boiling soup in his face!

  • i also forgot to add...dont punch a guy holding a knife.

  • bully behavior i thought was frowned upon. dont beat your assistant he just might stomp you into the ground on tv

  • Inoue can go to hell. Sakai is the best. =D

  • Inoue is lucky that Kaga hasn't smitten him with a thunderbolt from the heavens yet.

  • lol SHUTUP lol...

  • inoue is so rude

  • Do they have to Replay the fire?

  • Inoue has had one too many glasses of wine. You can't punch the assistants!

  • Inoue is such a pompous, alcoholic prick.

  • Totally messed up that he punched that poor assistant. Not called for at all.

  • I think aggression is the done thing in top restaurants. I should know i've worked in one!

Is a load of sh*t really!

  • He needs a chopstick stuck in his eyeball!!!

    - Al!

  • Whoa...hitting the assistant. Someone has had a little too much to drink

  • Inouesan is a real jerk. His apprentice should be disqualified. I dont like him hitting his apprentices.

  • I have heard that slapping and hitting an apprentice is custom in japanese restaurants. It's part of their culture.

    I absolutely discust it!

It's also very humiliating for the challenger to have his boss standing there around him, like he is in no shape of conducting his service himself. That old bastard should be kicked out of Kitchen Stadium never to return.

  • I like how the pie turned out...

  • The assistant should have dumped the old bastard head first into a deepfryer

  • Fried bastard w/ stringgray fins. LOL

  • LOL!

  • what is the fck is doing? he did it again!!!!

  • what is the old guy doing here?

  • that jerk cook needs to lay off the alcohol.

  • It's great how iron chef lets nothing go. If an american show had a drunk contestant or onlooker they would probably edit it but not Iron Chef. Plus food network normaly broadcasts iron chef early in the morning.

  • =O he interfers thn smacked the assistant!

NONE of the chefs & contestants even did tht before. worst was only barked at them. That's VERY RUDE!

  • was a bit surprised that he "layed the smack down" on that assistant...

    =|

  • inoue is a coward w/ a bigmouth... hiding behind his apprentice. pathetic.

  • Someone please stop that old chef from beating up the poor assitant. I think Inoue is drunk!!!

  • I love how they are making fun of him, and his OBVIOUS Alcoholism. Dumbass deserves it. I betcha he felt like an ass the day after.

  • i doubt he felt anything at all, he thinks so high of himself

  • That wasn't a slap. It was a closed FIST!

  • Well... he didn't slap him very hard?

Yeah, he's kind of an asshole.

  • What an ass! He's not even supposed to be helping the assistants!

  • Iron Chefs gone wild! Seeing the challenger's mentor slap the assistant upside the head is absolutely crazy!

  • WTF...smacking an assistant? I'd kickbox him to the head if I were the chairman...and give a -1 penalty for all the judges scores!
