@pepoka319 doom95 is a port of doom's exe that came out for windows 95 that doom2 can run on, pretty pointless though because doom for dos (doom2 v1.9 and less) can be played on windows 95 in MS-DOS mode.

Long story short, ID software bought the rights to the mods literally hours before they were to be posted on the internet and released them as Final Doom a couple months later

Doom95 is my favorite source port apart from Skulltag. I use Skulltag for online multiplayer and Doom95 when I want to play DOOM the way it was meant to be played: Keyboard only controls, MIDI music, etc, etc. I have DOSBox but GOD I don't feel like typing a bunch of commands just to play one game.

I gotta give it to you,man:I dug up my old Doom95 engine a couple of days ago and it's the only sourceport that feels and plays like DooM.

For some reason,those modern source ports make it all less fun (I don't know why,for I've used them in the past a couple of times).

Dude, if you really want to experience good old DooMing, try Chocolate Doom! Basically, it IS the original game except for you can make the mouse sensitivity higher than usual. :)

Nah, you wouldn't, Chocolate Doom's default is 640x480. I have mine on 800x900. The max. resolution for Chocolate Doom on my system is 1600x900. o__O

Some Dooms is windows based or the old one where it wouldn't run on your modern computer. Though you can run it on a DOS emulator called DOSbox.

I'm the biggest fan of all id software's games (DOOM, Wolfenstein, QUAKE). I prefer classic games like DOOM, DOOM 2, QUAKE and Wolfenstein 3D, but I can find 100 of great stuffs in new games (DOOM 3, , RTCW, Wolfenstein, QUAKE 4...) so I like them all almost equally. DOOM 4 should be like DOOM 2, Hell comes to earth and you must fight again!!! And imagine the multiplayer, whole earth in ruins!!! It would be the bestestest!!!!! I hope they'll make it like that. Yes, I have Vista and Doom95 runs perfectly. First, you have to download DPLAY.DLL and put it in your Doom95 folder, then open the Doom95 settings menu. Click the "Advanced" button and under the "Screen Resolution" tab, change the res to 640x480 and fullscreen mode. There you go! :D
